It’s fine, not for me

I love Antipodes products and I really wanted to like this but I’m not blown away honestly, it’s nice to use and has a lovely gold colour that has a slight illuminating effect, gorgeous packaging as always - but I find the scent a bit overbearing personally, although I love some of their other strongly scented products I’m not particularly fond of this scent it kind of reminds of a citrusy furniture polish or something but it doesn’t bother me once I put a moisturiser or sunscreen over it. It has some really good ingredients like Kakadu plum, hyaluronic acid and bakuchiol but I haven’t used it consistently enough to say whether it has or hasn’t had a positive effect on my skin. It was fine but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

Didn’t like it

I’ve been using hyaluronic acid for a long time, when I could find my preferred brand I had to try this one, it did not deliver the hydration I was feeling with other products, it lasted very short time, making it very expensive.

Pimples galore

I picked this up in the vault, thanks BR! I had not tried many Antipodes products before so I was looking forward to trying it out. I absolutely love the packaging of this, it feels so magical opening up the box.

It looks like liquid gold, beautiful and shimmery! The scent is lovely, very citrusy which I find appealing. A little bit goes a long way with this so just remember less is more.

I used this at night time only, after cleansing I applied a few drops and massaged in. It dries down nicely and doesn't leave my face feeling sticky at all. It makes my face feel soft and smooth.

However this breaks me out so bad, every single time I use it I wake up with new pimples. I thought maybe there was a purging phase you needed to get through so I kept using it but unfortunately the pimples kept coming so I had to discontinue use.

So while it is a lovely product it just doesn't suit my skin type. If you have skin that is prone to breakouts I would recommend staying away from this.

Lovely

I have always loved Antipodes products. I really love products that are vegan. And this product is a great example.

It comes in a golden box with the Antipodes name and some information about the product. But this box comes inside a cardboard box which looks even more flashy.

The product itself is inside a 30ml dropper bottle. The product is a thick lotion and comes easily out of the dropper. It is orange in colour and has a mild orange scent, which I like because I love oranges, the colour orange and the flavour and scent of orange. It feels fresh, clean, and wholesome.

The product feels a little tacky when it is first applied to my skin, but once it absorbs it leaves my skin feeling fresh, hydrated and soft. The product claim is that it will help achieve luminous, dewy skin and boost collagen and brighten for skin that glows. I feel that it does meet that claim as my skin does feel dewy hydrated and glowy, and I like that a lot. It has nice ingredients and lots of vitamin C which I also like.

The 30ml bottle is $42.50 at Healthpost. So while it isn't the cheapest serum, it certainly is one of the best. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Tips: The box says to apply daily to cleansed skin. I apply it at least morning and night and I like how my skin feels.

Antipodes Vitamin C Glow serum

I got this in a beauty vault haul and I love it! Golden and shimmery with a dropper that dispenses the perfect amount for coverage of my face and neck. The product is lightly scented with a citrusy? floral? honey? scent that is gorgeous and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I have not noticed any noticeable reduction in my melasma, but I would totally buy this. In the a.m. my routine is cleanse, spray with Avene thermal water, this serum and a moisturising spf 50.

Tips: Rub any excess into back of hands

All that glitters

I bought this product from the vault as I've been wanting to try some new serums and this one did not disappoint! I hadn't used Antipodes products before but I'd heard good things. I was particularly excited to try this one as I've had little success with other vitamin c serums.

Firstly, the packaging - wow! It came in a well designed outer cardboard box promoting New Zealand and natural brand that Antipodes is. The inner box was a beautiful orange amd gold leaf print that is replicated on the bottle. The 30ml bottle has a black amd gold dropper and the translucent brown glass gives you a window into what's inside.

Unscrewing the dropper allows you to see the pure liquid gold coloured serum. It smells sweet, almost like citrus, and is very uplifting. A few drops onto the face then spread around with a finger tip makes for easy application. It absorbs into the skin very easily. The product gives you an instant golden glow, like you've just walked off the beach. It feels hydrating on the skin and leaves you looking fresh and bright.

I'm also happy to report that as someone with sensitive skin that has reacted to many other vitamin c serums, I had no reactions with this one. Maybe it's the natural ingredients? In any case I will definitely be purchasing again!

Tips: A little goes a long way.

Actually suitable for all skin types

I love anything with Vitamin C in it but find most products either break me out or make my already oily skin shinier. This is the first Vitamin C serum that hasn’t done either. While it does brighten it’s not overly brightening so if that’s what you’re after maybe try something else. It comes in a dark glass jar which I’ve read is good at keeping Vitamin C stabilised. It has a dropper which I love as you can see how much you’re using. Overall it’s a lovely lightweight hydrating serum and being from Antipodes it’s NZ made (maybe not the ingredients). I will and have repurchased this product and definitely recommend it for all skin types .

Absolutely Glows!

I received this serum as a free sample and it was so good I wish I had a full sized product. It glides on silky smooth & gives you that sun-kissed, just spent the day at the beach look. I couldn't stop touching my face as it just felt amazing on without any of that greasy feel that some serums can leave behind. It also smells amazing too so it's definitely a must-have for my skin care routine now.

Tips: A little goes a long way!

Didn’t do much

I have fresh post-acne hyperpigmentation from a year of bad skin experiences. I’m hoping that vitamin c products will be enough to lift the pigment at least a little bit.

This product smells nice and has a bit of shimmer which is pretty, but it feels like it just sits on top of the skin and doesn’t sink in. I’m truly sceptical that it can achieve any results, and I certainly didn’t see any improvement when I was using it.

The shimmer effect is pretty, but because I use sunscreen as the final step in my routine (as most people do these days?) the sunscreen covers over any pretty luminosity that might be achieved with this serum.

Love love love! Fragrance, Texture, Shine!

This is such a dreamy serum. The fragrance is so summery and makes you feel super lush. The texture is like silk on your face and absorbs immediately. The shine that it leaves is subtle, but makes the sun bounce off your face in a nice way. I've been using for 3 weeks and feel like my complexion is really healthy, considering it has been wintery rain here!

Tips: A little goes a long way!
