The main reasons I purchased this skin balm are 1) it's a kiwi brand and 2) I wanted a multi-purpose balm to take travelling through a hot European summer.
I still love Antipodes and look forward to trying more of their products in the future, but sadly this was a let down. When applied on my lips they ended up cracked, bleeding and sore. I persisted with the balm for about 10 days, thinking my lips just needed to get used to the formula, but in the end it was just too painful and I returned to using standard vaseline.
Used on my nails, hands, and cuticles I found it didn't sink in to the skin at all. Of course, a balm will never be absorbed the same way a standard moisturiser is. But it even left a weird slightly gritty feeling on my nails and cuticles.
The one thing I was happy with was using this as a face moisturiser at night. During my Europe trip I lost my standard night cream, so resorted to using this in the evening for a few days. Admittedly my face looked radiant and felt soft the next morning, and it didn't seem to block my pores despite feeling heavy.
I'm really gutted that this didn't work for me, especially since I know a lot of BR gals swear by it.
I purchased this product as I have super dry lips in the winter and I saw some amazing reviews on this. The product itself is medium, not overly greasy, and applies nicely to skin. It made my hands very soft and cuticles loved it! My lips however reacted to it and they cracked, peeled and bled. I do wonder if it is the Tea Tree in it, as this can be quite a strong plant oil. Other than the lip issue it was pretty good. I would probably not repurchase it though as there are other creams etc that I love to use on my hands that don't leave a greasy residue.
Tips: Be careful when using this on your lips in case you have a reaction.
