This was the first ever facial cleanser I ever used. I have normal skin and only get the rare breakout. I decided to start buying stuff for my face due to wanting to see what all the fuss was about. I went with Clean & Clear because it is always on special and was a great starting product. I loved the smell of this stuff and it was start a great foaming cleanser as I doesn't smell awful like the L'Oreal foaming cleanser I am using at the moment as it smells so strongly of fragrance. I found using this foaming cleanser made my skin look so beautiful and glowy. This was a great starting product and you must try it if you are like me and put anything on my skin without having a reaction. I would definitely repurchase this.

I friend recommended this product to me - and because it is so affordable I thought I'd give it a try. Loved it! It cleans your face beautifully - getting rid of concealer and foundation. It has a pleasant, fresh smell. I love the idea of a cleansing foam - it works very gently. This is one of those very effective products that's easy to use - and easy on the budget! Will keep using this! xxx
Tips: No need to keep pumping heaps of foam into your hand - one pump is really all you need to get the job done!
Clean & Clear's Self Foam Facial Wash was one of the first cleansers I ever tried when I was younger. I love the classic pump packaging, which is sturdy and functional, delivering a nice pump of perfectly foamed product. The clear packaging makes it easy to see how much product remains.
The product itself has a pleasant enough smell without being overpowering. Definately not powerful enough to remove makeup, it still cleanses bare skin well without leaving it too tight or overdry. I didn't notice any difference in the condition of my skin while using this product regarding preventing acne, oily skin or blackheads so for me it didn't deliver in that aspect.
I probably wouldn't purchase this again for myself as I want something a bit more powerful to meet my needs now, but I think it's a great value product for those wanting a basic cleanser or who are just starting out with skincare.
Tips: Clean and Clear has great value packs containing this, the toner and moisturiser which is a great combination for a basic skincare system.
I love self foaming cleansers, and this was the first self foaming cleanser I used and made me addicted! This cleanser was really soft and smooth on your skin and you can feel that it really does clean your face. My skin feels clean, smooth and clear after using it.
I found this cleanser easy to use too. I like the pump, firstly because it not only creates a lovely foam out of the cleansing liquid, but it also makes it easy to disperse the product. You don't need too much product either, because the foam slides across your face easily. I find I only need about half a pump each time. I also like how the pump lets me easily squirt out different amounts and is easy to control. I always hate squirting out too much product.
I must also mention that I have oily skin, and find that this cleaner removes all my excess oil. However, when I are dry skin in the summer, I find this cleanser to be quite drying and too harsh on my skin. So I wouldn't recommend this product if you have dry skin.
Tips: Make sure your face is completely wet before applying. The water creates more foam on your face and makes it easier rub onto your skin.
This was one of the cleansers I tried when I was an early teen and I didn't find it anything amazing.
I love the pump packaging and the fact that you can easily see how much is left, but, the actual cleanser itself just doesn't meet the needs of my skin (back then or now). I'm not a fan of foam cleansers like this in general and this one was the same. I felt it didn't really get into my pores and give them a good clean out and only did half the job. I did like that it didn't dry my skin out or irritate my sensitive skin, but, it had no positive effects on the condition of my skin or preventing/clearing breakouts. For this reason I wouldn't recommend it to those who get blemishes on a regular bases as I feel this isn't strong enough to have an effect on troubled skin (like mine).
This is an okay standard cleanser for those with normal skin who just want a gentle cleanser for general everyday cleansing. Because of it's lack of cleansing power it's not the greatest at removing makeup either though so keep that in mind (leftover makeup stuck in your pores = blemishes). There far better cleansers available at a similar price point that I would choose over this
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this and won't be repurchasing it.
Tips: This won't remove all your makeup and isn't the best for acne prone skin.
I have very sensitive and problematic skin prone to dryness/ezcema and allergic rashes (hives and contact dermatitis) but I went through a spate of acne and tried a number of products to get this under control. I always love a good foam, something about it makes you feel squeaky clean! And I loved the pump on this facial wash. This delivers the right amount of product and is very easy to use. That’s about the only thing I liked about this product unfortunately. I used this after removing my makeup with makeup wipes and washing my face with some warm water. The facial wash felt like any other foam but I did notice it had quite a harsh smell to it, very strong and more of a chemical based smell to it. This put me off a bit at first because I really like my skin care to not have much of a smell at all. I used my hands and lathered my face up and washed off. Unfortunately very quickly after using this my skin felt super dried out ( reminded me of that feeling when you put a face mask on and you want to stretch your skin and make the mask crack to relieve it ). I followed with a oil and moisturiser and this relieved it and went to bed. The next morning I noticed it had irritated several parts of my face which broke out in a contact type dermatitis and it was a little red (and angry). I didn’t use this again as my skin couldn’t handle this product. As I mentioned I have sensitive problematic skin so I wouldn’t recommend this to someone with very sensitive skin like myself but to someone more robust it may be ok. Because I had a reaction to it I really couldn’t say if it would have helped with the acne in the longer term. I would definitely not use again.
Tips: Perhaps if you have sensitive skin patch test this somewhere other than your face.
So I have normal-(slightly) dry skin and this irritated it so much! Luckily I didn't use it much because I only got it in a little sample size, but it dried my skin out so much, made it go red and a bit flaky from irritation and, if anything, made my blemishes worse because it was drying them out :(
The worst part is that although it made my skin terrible, it didn't even do a good job of removing make up or anything, like most other cleansers I have tried are able to do.
Maybe if you had a lot of oil in your skin and didn't wear make up, or cleaned your make up off with something else first, this would work for you, but I absolutely hated it.
This was one of my first ever cleansers, i also purchased with the other branded products for a complete skincare routine. I used this to help with my teenage hormonal acne. Easy to use system (with other products). Lovely fresh scent, no irritation to this product and loved the fresh tight feeling i get when using this. Affordable and easy to find. Didnt find much difference in the acne i already had but helped keep my skin clean and to prevent more from coming.
I have combination skin and after using this my skin felt so dry and tight, i dont know what it means when it says "over drying" because that is literally what it did to my skin. I had to throw it out after using it three times because my skin could not handle it and i had to end up using twice as much moisturiser for my skin to even begin to feel normal again.
I used to love this facial wash once upon a time). Before I wore makeup and before I knew what taking care of your skin really meant). These days (I purchased it a little while a go when they were on special for $4.95 on the warehouse website) I just don't feel like it cleans my skin like I need it to. Because it's a foam wash, I feel as though it's not cleansing my skin properly because you can't really work it into your skin like you can with cream based cleansers, which comes down to the thickness of the product. As soon as water hits your face, this foam wash instantly washes off, whereas the thicker cleansers seem to work into your skin quite nicely and it sits almost like a base so it doesn't wash off before you get a chance to wash your face properly. Don't get me wrong, this is quite a nice facial wash, but I'd only recommend it for a 'refreshed' feeling after a long day. Also, It's gentle enough for everyday use and it will actually last quite a while.
