I'd heard lot's of rave over this brand and body scrubs are my favourite skin care product, so I was extremely pleased to be able to snap this up from the vault.
The first time I went to use this scrub, for the life of me I could not get it out of the tube no matter how much force with which I squeezed! In the cold weather it's almost rock solid inside the tube, I need to hold it under the shower stream to heat it first so I can use it. Then once it's heated you need to be careul not to squeeze the tube too hard otherise it will shoot out and wind up landing in the shower tray, this happened to me a couple of times before I learnt to be careul with it.. It's a bit disappointing to accidently waste such a pricey product!
This scrub is a thick peach colored cream with fine grains of the himalayan salt through it, the grains are just about as fine as regular table salt so it's not very gritty as I had kind of expected. The scent is a tart citrus, it contains grapefruit extract and that's what it mostly smells of to me.
Upon contact with the skin the salt disolves quickly and it turns to a silky milky texture. I avoid the shower stream whilst rubbing it in to get the most out of it, the more time I spend massaging it in I feel the more my skin is soaking up those gorgerous organic ingredients. It feels very exfoliating, cleansing and also very hydrating.. It feels like a luxury product.
I really wish that this product was more affordable, $40 for a shower scrub, to me seems over the top.. I'd pay $20.. So sadly I will not be purchasing this product despite thoroughly enjoying it.. Unless by some chance I heard of a 50% off sale, in which case i'd be all over it!
I love the Eco Tan range so was expecting great things from this product. Sadly it didn't quite do it for me.
The packaging is nice it comes in a squeeze tube with green and brown packaging. The product also smells amazing and if I was judging by scent alone this would definitely win! Since it's winter its also become VERY solid and hard to get out of the tube so I waste more time trying to heat up the product which is slightly annoying in the winter months as you don't want to be standing around in the cold trying to use a product.
The product itself is more moisturising than exfoliating. I love my scrubs to be a bit more gritty and this just didn't hit the mark for me, its marketed as being able to remove old tan. Which I have no idea how it would be able to. I really wanted to love this product unfortunately I just couldn't. It's also supposed to target stretch marks, cellulite and pigmentation but since the product hardens so much I haven't persevered with it everyday to every other day so I can't comment on this. It definitely is hydrating but I can't justify the $39 price tag for something I thought was a scrub. I will not be repurchasing. However, I will be using it up but as more of an in shower moisturiser.
Tips: Better used on dry skin.
