Cheap and Full of Antioxidants but Low Spf Rating

I got this earlier this year. I'm a big fan of natural zinc sunscreens so when I saw this retailing at under $30 and yet had more than twice as much as my Oasis Beauty Apple a Day did in the bottle, I figured it was worth a shot. I like the natural and organic ingredients raspberry seed oil which provides some spf protection, antioxidants of green tea, blackberry extracts, jojoba oil, etc plus it has zinc oxide. The moisturizer is light and sinks doesn't feel heavy and has no whitening properties at all. I would give this product a much higher rating but there's no spf rating listed. When I called in to talk the company they said they needed to get the spf verified and tested and that's why they didn't have it on the label but they say it's a spf 12. The scent is a sharp sort of citrus, pretty good considering the product doesn't have any fragrance other than some essential oils which are good for your skin. I do appreciate the company's honesty in regards to getting the spf verified before putting it on the label but being the sunscreen nut that I am I only wore this when I was indoors on a rainy overcast day as I wear an spf of at least 15 on daily basis, usually a spf 25 with my Oasis Apple a Day. I found it good for layering under my spf moisturizer, since it was light but since it spf was unrated I couldn't fully rely on it to get enough protection from UV rays. This is why I don't plan get more unless the UV rating is tested and verified.

Tips: Good for layering if you want a nice, cheap natural moisturizer full of antioxidants or if you want to ease your teenager or child into organic spf moisturizers. Or if you want to stretch out your expensive moisturizer and use this for spf protection over the winter while staying indoors, this has some spf protection but I wouldn't recommend this for summer or if you're going to go outside.

Partly Protective

I bought this ages ago (at Christmas) in a big pack of Dedicated to Nature products, then promptly forgot I had it – lucky find 

The packaging is the same as the other Dedicated to Nature products, a brown pump bottle. It is a picture of some blackberries on the front, which is a big drawcard – I love blackberries.

The product is a moderately thick cream, and smells quite similar to other Dedicated to Nature products. I neither love nor hate the smell. It’s unusual and earthy.

The product absorbs quite quickly into my skin and leaves a soft, waxy feel on the surface that feels quite nice. I feel it is quite hydrating. It claims it s a rich blend of natural sunscreens and anti-oxidants to protect against the environment and the same time nourishing and hydrating your skin. It does feel like it nourishes and hydrates my skin. I can’t speak for the sunscreen factor because I’m not outdoors much, but my skin hasn’t gotten any darker or burnt since I’ve been using it. It says the SPF is 15.

I very much like that Dedicated to Nature products are organic and don’t have any nasties in them.

At $28 it is economical as you only need a small amount to do the job. I’ll keep on using it and I think it’s worth trying for others.

Naturally moisturising

This product has many great things going for it: Made in NZ, organic, SPF included, black berries!

The smell is nice - kind of woodsy and back berry like you are there picking them yourself. Texture is medium thickness consistency and you don't need much. I like the pump, so it controls how much I get out. (less waste for me)

It is very moisturising, and even though it has SPF it is still very light, I don't get white marks on my face like other moisturisers.

Due to the small amount you use, it lasts for a long time & so is good value for money.
