This was one of the products at the top of my list, last vault.. Body scrub being pretty much my favorite skin care product, and I love anything spicy, so I assumed that I would love it.. I don’t. I’m underwhelmed with it.
By no means is this a bad product, it’s just nothing special in my opinion, it’s pretty damn average. There’s two reasons why I don’t like it;
So I had no idea what size this tin would be as it doesn’t say here in the product description and I got it from the vault, but I was expecting it to be larger considering the RRP of $19. The size is 100grams. To me this seems like such a small amount of product for the price as it’s a product that doesn’t go far. If you use this as a full body scrub, there’s enough product for about 5 washes.
“It’s nothing special” - It’s nothing that I can’t replicate and mix up myself at home using staple pantry items. It just looks like brown sugar, it IS just brown sugar with a little blend of oils, and common cooking spices mixed in.
Despite these not so happy points, this scrub does the job; It’s both gently exfoliating and hydrating, and it contains a blend of natural oils of which i’m sure that most recognize are good for the skin. Although I feel that it’s a very small amount of these oils that the product contains..
The spices in this scrub; cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, are detectable but mild, it’s not a very aromatic scent.
The packaging is good, the tin is nice n’ sturdy and air-tight, which is a good idea, although I think that it may be a contributing factor to this product being over-priced.
I wouldn’t necessary not recommend this product, but i’d definitely recommend looking at the ingredients and having a try at making it yourself.
I felt that the packaging is really nice, it has a screw on cap which prevents water getting in. I do feel that it was a very small size and is quite pricey. I was lucky enough to get it in the vault. It smells amazing - like fruit spice loaf which I love. The product itself does look a little dry and I detect more cinnamon than turmeric.
The scrub definitely does the job though, it's nicely abrasive and leaves skin moisturised due to the oils. As for the other claims, there definitely isn't enough product in just one tub to determine if they hold true. The immediate effects of clean refreshed skin definitely hold true though, but I personally wouldn't repurchase due to the price of the product.
