I'm a bit of a lush addict and it's not often that I find a dud product but this really hit that mark big time for me. I'd heard such great things about it so I was determined to buy it. NZ didn't stock this, this year so I added it into a UK order that I was making.
This comes in a standard black lush pot. It has the best before date clearly printed, fyi these only have a shelf life of 3 months. I didn't realise that so didn't use it straight after buying it. I'd recommmend only buying these when you actually want to use it straight away and to not stock up in case it goes bad. I find lush products do last well after the date but I'd be a bit more wary of a product like this with quite fresh ingredients in it. A pot may sound like an odd way to have a cleanser but this is quite a solid product so you need to scoop some out to use it.
This looks interesting when you open the lid. It kind of looks like a cookie dough with the beige colour and lots of bits in it. It has a strong almond smell, I like the freshness of it.
This isn't as easy as a normal cleanser to use. It's also incredibly messy. I was using it at night for a little while but started just using it in the shower in the mornings instead. I wet my face and hands first and then get a small amount out. I use maybe a 10 cent piece. I then kind of work it into a paste so I can apply it to my face. IT doesn't really go into a proper paste though, it doesn't all stay together so it will fall everywhere. I do like how it feels on my face, it is like a gentle exfoliant and it doesn't dry out my already dry skin. My skin is breaking out pretty badly at the moment though, I can't really say this is the cause but I feel like it might be.
I would never repurchase this. I think it makes my skin feel nice but not nice enough to justify the mess and just annoying factor of using it. I much prefer just squeezing a tube and being done with it.
After reading fabulous reviews about this cleanser I had to give this a try. Lush is a well known vegan friendly brand that I have fallen head over heels in love with . So when I headed into Lush I chose to pick this sample up.
This came in a little black pot sturdy. I'm glad I got a sample of this before buying full sized. The texture of this cleanser is solid. I can see crushed grains and red bits of cranberry mixed into it. The scent of it smells like freshly ground almonds and cashews. I couldn't pick up on the brandy or spice which was disappointing. The scent of it is the selling point for me.
When I first tried it I mixed it with a bit of water to form a paste. I found it difficult to lather . It was falling everywhere. Very messy. This cleansed my skin okay . It really didn't feel like it was doing anything. Tried it for a few weeks no significant changes.
I had high hopes for this cleanser but unfortunately it didn't perform as well as I had hoped. It's priced higher that the normal cleansers at lush. I really don't think it's worth its price. I definately wouldn't buy it or reccomend it .
