For literally years I wanted to buy an Each Peach massage bar. But there was always a reason not to: 1) the price. At 418.50 for the bar, it seemed a bit high to me. I mean, bath bombs are roughly under $10 each and I can get 3-4 baths out of one. However after finally splashing out and buying Each Peach I have realized just how long this massage bar lasts. 2) I haven't always had someone to massage or to massage me, so many times I talked myself out of it. Though it can be used to help out with your own dry spots, it really is made for massages. This means it is quite oily and takes a long time to sink in (and sometimes depending on how much you use doesn't sink in completely). So in terms of using it as a moisturizer, there are much cheaper and more bang-for-your-buck products out there.
Reasons why I did want to buy it: 1) the smell is heavenly! Citrusy goodness with a creamy feel means it has that great refreshing and relaxing combination. I love citrus! And I love massages, so this product seemed perfect for me. After buying and use over months of time I've found that the smell doesn't stick around as much as I'd hoped. Still yummy, just not as wow-ing.
The application of the bar itself is simple though can be tiring - you heat it. I've ended up rubbing it in my hands or holding it for a while before applying to skin. It can take a while for it to heat up enough to make a good coating, but once it is heated the oil seems to flow a little too easily. And given what I mentioned before (the not sinking in) I also have to worry about it getting on the sheets.
If you like massage oils then this bar is a good alternative for you. Me, on the other hand, I enjoy massaging with creams such as body butter. That way i can trust it to sink in and not mark my sheets.
When I was going to get some Lush Massage Bars a couple years back this was the first bar I wanted to try. I generally like some citrus scents and since I wanted to massage my bf at the time I wanted a more unisex scent. This oval massage bar is quite easy to hold and glide over your skin. It has a fresh lemon scent not as bitter, lemony as Lemony flutter though. I like that with the exception of a couple synthetic ingredients the main one being perfume, it's completely natural. A massage bar is definitely less messy than oil and if you apply an adequate amount you get pretty good slippage for a massage. If your skin is warm it does glide over reasonably well and melt okay on contact. I also found one bar does last a long time despite being only 65 grams. The downside is that as soon as the temperature drops slightly it doesn't melt on your skin well. So in summer it's fine but then you have to store it in the fridge and you have to take it out well ahead of time to warm up unless you want to hold it over a heat source. Since I don't currently give massages at the moment I have been using this on myself after a shower. It does leave my skin pretty soft but because it's meant for a massage of course it doesn't really soak in. Thus the dilemma it melts well in summer but it's a bit too heavy in summer perfect for winter but it doesn't melt or spread well. Because it doesn't melt well it's easy to rub to much on your skin and then when it does melt you're rather greasy. But I guess this is the way massage bars are and I've experienced the same thing with Strawberry Feels Forever, so I guess this probably how Lush's massage bars are. I've been using this of late on my dry bits after a shower like my knees and elbows over my body lotion. But I find it best for breast massage, since well it is a massage bar. Despite the cons I still bought more massage bars from Lush and will continue to get more. I think this is great for giving massage and even if it does cost a bit you will get a lot of use out of it.
Tips: Store in the fridge during summer but during the winter just keep in your room out of sunlight and away from a heat source and it will stay solid. Keeps pretty well in Lush's massage bar tin. If you do choose to use this during the winter, it is easiest to use if you have a heat source handy to hold it over and soften it. It is easy to over apply but the butters do melt so go by feel. Great for massage but the best for summer to use as a body oil as you will feel greasy all over since it is meant as a massage oil but ideal for dry bits like knees and elbows and great if you want to give the girls a massage. Lush does have an annual sale on Boxing Day when a lot of their massage bars go on sale so then is the best time to stock up.
