Lush Love and Light hand cream Review

I received a very generous sample of this from Lush in one of their cute little black pots. I kept this on my desk at work and it lasted ages. My desk buddy asked "what's that smell?" every time I used as it has a very heady scent of neroli. Some may find this over powering. If you can handle it, it gives you a real lift when you breathe it in, great for getting over an afternoon slump. I found it is also great for covering up any of those hard to shift food smells like garlic or smoked salmon that might linger in your hands. Bonus!

The cream itself is quite light so I would describe it as more of a lotion (especially when compared to my holy grail hand cream, Handygurugu, also from Lush) It absorbs really quickly and leaves your hands feeling like you are wearing silky gloves! This is a good day time hand cream - I still prefer something heavy like Handygurugu at night. Also, you really have to be a fan of strong neroli smells to use it. Best to try it out in store first or ask for a sample which staff are always happy to provide.

This is great for moisturising hands and softening cuticles. This cream is quite light and easy to apply all over your hands. The consistency is quite thin, more like a lotion rather than a cream.

This hand cream has a floral and citrusy scent which is not too overpowering once applied, as I find some lush products have quite strong scents.

This product comes in a small black tub, one of the famous lush pottles. So when you've used it all up make sure to keep the container as you can redeem a free face mask when you take five of them back.

However for the price you pay I didn't see that there was anything amazing about this product. I have used other hand creams that were cheaper and did a better job at hydrating hands. In saying that these products were not organic and cruelty free, so I guess you are paying for that. But on the basis that it's quite pricey I probably would not purchase this again.

This hand cream makes me think of my mother's garden mixed with citrus. Not a grassy scent, more like dark leaves and bushes - stronger and slightly bitter in smell. It is quite a strong smell, but I have to admit I enjoyed it more and more with use.

The texture in my opinion is heavenly. I have sensitive skin, so it always helps when a cream sinks into my skin and lets it breathe rather than leaving a thick film. This means I can put it on before bed without worrying about it getting on the sheets also!

Lush pottles are always a great way to hold creams as they don't spill, they can stack together, and when you return them to the shop you can swap (I think) 5 pottles for a small container of any face mask you choose. So not only do you feel good for recycling, but you get a present too!

I have been into hand creams lately. I like collecting them and I can always justify it considering I like washing my dry hands so often. I got this in the Boxing Day Sales. It came in a gift box which was discounted. Yay! presents from myself to me. It came with a seasonal Lush soap and a small pot of this. The pros of this hand cream is that it's made with natural ingredients, since I'm a fan of natural beauty products. Secondly it does absorb into my dry hands within a few minutes and leaves them soothed and moisturized. My hands definitely feel softer and it doesn't irritate my eczema on my hands. If you really like this hand cream you have the option of getting a big 220g tub of it for about 38 bucks, not bad for the amount considering it's a natural handmade handcream. The ingredients are water, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, glycerine, stearic acid, triethanolamine, neroli and brazilian orange oil, orange flower absolute and cetearyl alcohol and perfume. Oddly despite all those essential oils and the perfume this handcream smells like a very mild rubbing alcohol with a some very, very faint orangy notes at the end. I don't know why it would smell like that to be honest. The smell does fade a few minutes after I rub it in and it does almost disappear after twenty minutes thankfully though. Some scents I can tolerate but this one is a bit strong. I would've considered repurchasing this hand cream if it had a better scent.

I got a 45g pot of this Love and Light hand cream in a gift pack from the christmas range. I was not readily out to try this but it just happened in to my hot lil hands so I thought why not!

It comes in the famous black screw lid pots to keep it in the pot not leaking down the sides. I love how I can stack these with the others to maximize space use. The texture is actually lighter than I thought it would be. Hand cream in the past for me has usually been quite thick and takes ages to sink in to my skin.

The smell is quite citrusy to me but with a hint of the cocoa butter. It's not a smell I love having on my hands but it's nice enough. The cream is quite runny for my liking and disappears in to my skin as fast as I apply it. I know hands can be quite dry and moisture thirsty but that's ridiculous. I often have to apply twice to make sure I am moisturising sufficiently.

The smell doesn't linger for longer than an hour which for me is a good thing but it also suggests that the moisture has gone too. I do admit my hands feel a tad softer but my dry areas are still dry and that's after a month use. I would expect to see some sort of result after that. It is one of the few Lush products I don't love so I think I will leave it in the hands of someone else.

I got this in one of the Xmas boxes but discounted on Boxing Day, it was in a black tub so easy to open to apply, a little hard once you have it on your hands though as the product is a bit oily/takes a while to soak in. I'm not fond of the smell ether, earthy/tree smell but it does as it says. My hands where nice and soft but unfortunately I just have used it the once as the consistency and smell have put me off.

I got this in a Christmas gift pack and it smells lovely. Fresh and citrusy but not ott. Lotion like rather than cream like. Feels lovely and light but my mitts def need something with more oomph. This would suit someone whose digit requirements are less than mine (as in younger lol). I used this in the summer time, so wasn't too bad but this wouldn't cut the mustard in the winter.

This came in a half price xmas box I got in the Lush Boxing Day sales, and I've only just now gotten around to using it as I had so many others lined up.

Love and Light comes in the standard Lush 'black pottle', with it's distinctive white writing. I have the smaller 45g pottle.

When you open this the smell of the entire pottle is really overpowering. It's actually quite off-putting, to be honest. However, when you scoop out a fingertip full of this (and thats all you need), the scent is more muted, and it's actually quite lovely on the hands.

The cream itself is a thin, lotion-y consistency, with a vague off white shade to it. A little goes a long way. It doesn't absorb instantly, requiring a moment to settle and soak, which may be annoying for some - I don't mind this so much, myself.

This leaves my hands soft and hydrated, and feeling lovely. It is as light as the name suggests, but still manages to be really hydrating.

The scent, away from the pottle, is subtle and soothing.

The main reasons this hasn't earned 5 stars are that I think it's expensive, seeing as you can get great hand lotions for around the $5 mark. Also the entire pottle being overwhelmingly strong is a mark against it. The last thing that annoys me a little is that I hate screw pots for hand cream because you have to remember to put the lid on before your hands are all lotion-y - or wait until they're dry again. Just a wee nitpicky grumble but still!

I got this in the Joy to the World Christmas box. It came in the same cute little 45g black pot that most of their creams come in.

My first impression, was holy smoke – the smell is terrible. It smells like stinging nettle. Yick. Well, as weird as it is, I came to really like the smell by the end of the pottle – I did not see that coming when I first start using it.

I persevered in spite of the smell, to give it a fair chance. It is a lovely creamy thick product that glides onto my hands like silk. It leaves a gorgeous soft waxy feel to my skin without being greasy. It says the mix of cocoa and neroli (maybe neroli is the smell?) will make light work of moistening hands. My hands do feel moistened, hydrated and silky after use.

But, since about 1/3 of the way down, I’ve been using it on my feet. It hasn’t really softened them, but they do feel nice afterwards.

I would most certainly buy it again and I would recommend it to others as well.

This year I've been getting into caring for my hands. My hands are dry especially after doing dishes alot. I recieved this in my Lush box called Mum. It was one of the first things I opened.

Typically lush containers come in black tubs. This container is secure enough to take traveling with me. I got a small tub. This formula is smooth and white. This scent packs a strong neroli kick. About as strong as Karma cream that I previously tried.

I find it easy to lather across my body and skin. I like to apply it after a shower or when I can see my hands are getting dry. I think this cream is priced fairly being made from natural products and especially being cruelty free.

Overall I think this formula was great for my skin. My skin felt hydrated after using this. A small tub lasted me a little over a month with frequent use.I would definitely buy it again as a strong pick me up for my skin.
