Secret Glo Sunless Tanning Glove Wipes Review

Personally I'm not the biggest fan of self tanner but always keen to try new products in hopes I will change my mind. It was ok easy to apply, I did find it ended up creasing on me. This could be the fact I did seem to trial out the product when we had very hot weather so I was probably sweating and it didn't set properly. I would recommend it for someone on the go or travelling as its compact and flat so won't take up lots of room in the suit case. I found the packaging very tacky and cringe worthy and when i opened the parcel and saw the box i first thought it was an R18 movie if you know what i mean. Its an ok product for a top up but i wouldn't use it again myself.

Was very disappointed with this product. Not only were the wipes very messy and awkward to use but the result was less than ideal. Firstly the wipe did not fit or stay on hand well will applying meaning I was constantly having to readjust it throughout the application process. Also the excess clear liquid in the pouch went everywhere even once the zip seal was closed. As the wipe had no bronzer in it you were unsure of where you had applied or where you had applied too much! The final result several hours later despite prepping skin and following directions given was a very streaky uneven orange tan. While the smell of the product was not unpleasant the stickiness felt after application was not greatly favoured.

I really really wanted to love this product.  I was super excited the day it arrived that I wasted no time to try it out that same day. After googling some before and after pictures I had high hopes for this tanner. The packaging is just a normal cardboard box with individual silver zip lock type packets that contain the gloves. You have to be super careful when opening the individual packets as your are supposed to seal the packet again to reuse it if the glove is still wet and there's still liquid inside once you have applied it all over your body. Personally I did not find this practical at all and the packaging looked super cheap. There's also no way the glove will still be wet after tanning your whole body.The actual "glove" itself looks like just a normal white face cloth / material type thing that covers both sides of your hands. Once I took it out of the packet it was super drenched in what seemed like water but was actually the tanner I assumed. It will literally dripping all over the show (make sure to squeeze it out in the packet so you can wet it again once the glove dries out). I had no idea which side of the glove was the front or the back but I assumed it didnt matter as they both looked and felt the  same. There is also nothing protecting your hands like a normal tanning glove so your whole hand is basically in contact with the tanner directly throughout the whole tanning process which was super weird to me. So I made sure to wash my hands afterwards. As it is not an actual glove like I thought it kept slipping off my hand!  Sooo annoying! The smell of the tanner was supper strong and hits you straight away once you open the packet , I just suggest that you do not stick your nose in the packet to smell it like I did (super bad idea).I made sure to moisture before applying it like the instructions state on the box. It's supposedly claims to go on evenly leaving you streak free - what a joke! Firstly the tanner is clear therefore you have no way of knowing if you've missed a spot. It claims to give you an even "none orange" tan within 6-8 hours. Despite having made sure I rubbed in a circular motion trying to cover every inch of myv  body, 6 hours later I was left with a streaky,blotchy, uneven tan. They say you can go over the areas you've missed but lucky me I went to my boyfriends home and had ao much faith in this product that I decided not to bring it along with me.By the second day , after my shower (the minute it came in contact with water, the water was super orange) I was even worse!  I literally looked like I had a skin disease. It supposed to last 10 days. Mine barely lasted a day!The only positive thing I have to say is that it did not leave my skin orange-like it states but rather a really nice golden colour to be quite honest.  But other than that this product was so bad. Im so glad I did not use it on my face (it says you can on the box). The pictures on the web are so fake

I was glad I got picked to trial this product because a) I was adamant on never buying self-tanning products ever again and b) I wanted something to change my mind.

At first glance: No bullocks, when I first saw the box I thought that it looked very American and like something I would see on those paid ad commercials that ruin our Saturday morning TV - I giggled when I inspected the box more and saw "AS SEEN ON TV" and read distributed in New York. It's made in Korea but I'm assuming it's an American brand.

How To: There are simple instructions on the box and also more in depth but simple instructions on a bit of paper inside the box. Each "glove" (more like a pocket pouch) is packaged in a re-sealable foil bag. Simply pull the glove out, put on your hand and rub over the area you want tanned. Sounds so easy right? It is. I decided to JUST do both full legs on the 1st application. 1st leg was fine, 2nd leg the glove felt like it was drying out a tad but still managed to do my whole leg - the glove didn't rub as smoothly though (not a deal breaker for me). It applied clear (but you can clearly see where you are applying the product because of the "wet" look) but by the 24hour mark from application it reached its final colour.

Claims: Dries in minutes, no mess, won't stain, gives a golden glow, lasts up to 10 days and that each glove will tan face & neck 10 times or arms & legs 5 times. Yes it dries in minutes (felt dry enough at 10 minutes to put clothing on). Won't stain - tick. I purposely wore jeans after applying to my legs to test this claim. There were absolutely no marks on the inside of my jeans at the end of the day. No mess - tick. Simply put glove back in bag, there were no drips or running on my legs. The gloves are full of product so my hand did feel wet but the glove did not drip anywhere. Amount of use: Because of the review deadline and the length of time the tan lasts I couldn't really test this claim but I did re-use the glove that I had used on my legs (a few days after) to do my arms, shoulders, chest area and found that the glove had soaked up more product whilst in the bag and easily covered these areas. The glove did feel really dry by the end though. I would put a "X" next to the claim that it would do my legs & arms 5 times. Lasts up to 10 days - tick. My legs are still looking good at the 8th day. Colour: My result is not as near the colour as shown on the "after" photo on the box but I am still happy with my result. It looks completely natural and I have received many compliments of my "nice summer glow".

Last but not least - the smell. Ok so the usual self tan product smell is definitely present but it's tolerable and gone by day 2.

It comes with 4 gloves which will give a good amount of tan time! Thanks BR for the op to review!!

When I got this review I was a bit nervous after seeing the packaging, because it looked like it would go golden. I was so excited to read through the product info! But there it read "do not use while pregnant". This did make me question the safety and origin of the ingredients in the product. So... My husband happily put his hand up to be my Guinea pig. Getting the product out of the packaging was messier than I thought, as it dripped a lot. Applying was super easy, however your hands did get rather wet. Overall the tan dried evenly and it did go to a nice golden colour, perhaps a bit too golden for me. The smell was a bit overbearing the first night, but soon faded. I do love how the packaging is resealable. Overall I think I will stick to my current tan product which I know is natural and safe for use while pregnant.

I was excited to try these tanning wipes as a frequently fake tan and am always looking for new products.

Firstly, the wipes were soaking wet and I decided to squeeze a little bit out before I used them so it didn't go everywhere. It went on easily but was hard to tell where you were putting it. I guess the good thing about the reusable glove as you can use it a couple hours later if it appears you have missed any spots.

It did not have the nicest fake tan smell, and I found when it dries that it went streaky even though I had exfoliated and done everything I usually do when I fake tan.

One thing it did do well was stay on. It was really difficult to get off and did last at least 10 days.

I was not overly impressed with this tanning product. It claimed to do a lot and it did not really live up to it's name for me.

I tan usually on a weekly basis and i will most likely not use this product again unless i am desperate. Firstly i tried it on my legs after exfoliating and doing what i usually would before i tan. First struggle i came across is that it has no color guard whatsoever so i could not see where the product was going. The glove was very wet to the point that half the product dripped off onto the floor. I left overnight like i usually would and when i woke up the only tanned thing was my feet! It seemed the product had all gone to my feet. Once i had scrubbed this off (Which took a lot to get off) i gave it another go all over my body. It was very streaky and i had to touch up heaps and was still streaky and patchy. It does have a nice color to it, although i would say it is orange based. The color is more of a light tan and was not very dark on my skin type.

Okay, well I initially loved the idea of this product on the understanding that I wouldn't come out looking like a pumpkin after 1 application... but to my distress I was rather disappointed. I applied this product this morning once I recieved it after my normal cleaning routine. The packing is pretty average, but it is one of the as seen on tv things so I wasnt expecting fancy packaging. My inital thought was I opened was "ooh this looks interesting" so I was excited to open it and to use it. I applied it to my legs/arms/shoulders/neck etc and was a little worried I would look like a pumpkin so I went easy on application ensuring I applied it everywhere... at first after the 10 minutes to dry, I liked the colour that was coming out, it was subtly darker than my natural colour. I allowed it to dry completely then continued with my daily tasks. Well... as I write this we are probably coming up to the 6th hour I have worn it, and im afraid to say I look like a pumpkin. My feet are terribly orange and my arms are blotchy :(. I am going to try another application and hopefully it was me that messed up the first application... I also have one more problem with the gloves.. they smell like vinegar and all day I have smelt like I bathed in malt vinegar lol. Lets hope some other ladies have had better luck with this product :O
