After picking this up to try at Christmas time I found myself overwhelmed by Lush (my own doing) and it was popped aside in favor of other gels, bombs and bubble bars... what a mistake that was. So finally I embraced the Bar of Hum Bug and I was so pleasantly delighted by the aroma... it wasn't as much licorice but more like the candy treat of licorice sandwiched between layers of colourful icing or aka Licorice Allsorts.
Smooth and velvety tones coupled with a wonderfully rich maroon colour to the water... it was a wonderful treat for the senses but sadly I didn't like the feel of my skin after the baths... it always seemed that much dryer and less moisturised than before bathing. The bubbles were typical of a Lush bubble bar, wonderfully full and layered mountains of rainbow bubbles. I wish the shimmer and sparkle would last on the skin a bit longer after hopping out.
This is another limited edition delight from lush, this came out around Halloween and Christmas. I just wished some of these scents would hang around a bit longer.
This bubble bar is delicate looking, easily fitting in the palm of my hand. It looks pretty and resembles a roulade with the main colour purple with a swirl of white through it.
I run the bath and just hold this under the running water and watch as the bubbles start to form and turn the water a slight shade of pinky purple then finally setting to a light purple shade.
The scent as soon as you open the bag is a sweet aniseed scent, but when I see fennel is in the ingredient list I can detect that scent as well, It's slightly spicy but the sweetness balances it.
When I lay in the bath I can get more of the aniseed scent than anything else, it's a gorgeous scent but then I love aniseed and liquorice.
I love this scent just on its own without a bath bomb and find its the perfect size to use the whole thing rather than cutting it up, I will repurchase this again next year.
