Reviews
I purchased this cleanser after reading the good reviews on here and I'm not disappointed. I have melasma patches on my face and am trying everything to lighten them. I've been using a combination of this cleanser and a trilogy dark spot corrector and I've seen improvements! The cleanser has a unique fragrance, pleasant and natural and good gel like consistency. I love the bottle also- I can easily squeeze out as little as Iike. I'm not finding my skin is over dried and it's been exeptionally clear- will buy again.
Tips: Massage into your dark spot areas for at least 30 seconds- you'll feel it working.
I tried the Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser after trying and liking a few other Antipodes products. I was looking for an organic cleanser and decided to give this a go as my gel cleanser.
The gel is a lot more runny than other gel cleansers I have tried, but fortunately I didn't need a lot of product to get a full coverage of my face, so being runny has meant better value for money as the product lasts longer.
Like a lot of organic New Zealand made products it had a clear Manuka Honey smell coming through which always is pleasant and reminds me that it is an organic New Zealand made product. Side note: big points for being both organic and New Zealand made, those are some pretty special aspects right there.
The packaging was practical and I think it can be recycled which is also things I like to see in a product.
I did a side by side comparison of this product and an non organic gel cleanser I had and this one felt so much fresher and softer on the skin. So I would recommend braving the cost and going organic.
This is probably one of the more expensive products I have tried, but I guess you get what you pay for, because it's great! I have very problematic skin, very oily and with adult acne, but since using this, it has improved hugely. You don't need a lot to get good coverage, so it will last a reasonable time. It's lovely to buy NZ made, too. The scent is nice and fresh, but gentle -it doesn't have that awful chemical smell other face cleansers have. And unlike other cleansers, it won't bleach your towels! I highly recommend this effective but gentle product.
Tips: Only use a very small amount, as it goes further than you would think.
I love the concept behind Antipodes products - natural New Zealand products, but unfortunately the Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser did nothing special for my skin.
The slightly runny gel formula comes in a large 200ml squeezable bottle which is easy to use and good value for money. It smells fruity and fresh but the smell doesn't linger on to your face after you wash it off.
The cleanser, on my skin which is on the drier side, make my skin slightly drier after use which is not ideal, and also after using it for 3 months I did not see a difference in the brightness of my skin. The reason why I stopped using the product is that whilst I was about 2 and a half months into using it, my skin became irritated (not sure what it was from) and I developed small raised bumps (not acne) on my cheeks and the cleanser didn't do much to settle them. I was forced to move on to a different product (Clarins daily energiser cleansing gel) which managed to get rid of them! I am so disappointed that I didn't love this product more as I love Antipodes! However, I would recommend the product to those with normal, problem free skin wanting a good, basic New Zealand cleanser.
This cleanser is a good mild one. I use it in the morning and it smells delicious. The consistency does seem to vary, I believe due to the manuka honey. I am unsure if I would buy it again simply due to its price point.
Tips: It does seem to stain cleansing brushes
I really like this gel cleanser, it is mild, foams up well and cleanses effectively. I was sceptical about it as it isn't an appealing colour (warm brown) and is quite liquidy compared with other foaming cleansers I have used, but I liked that it is quick to splash off, doesn't leave a residue and doesn't leave my face feeling tight.
I was looking for a product that was more calming on my skin as it is quiet sensitive so brought the Juliet Gel Cleanser on recommendation from friends. After 7 days of washing 2x daily I noticed a more even skin complexion and that my darkening under eyes had nearly disappeared! The gel smells lovely and foams lightly with a little moisture added so alot goes along way. I do find that my skin is dry after washing so have selected a heavier moisturizer to use while also only now washing my face 1x daily which it has responded well to. Really happy with the results and love that the packing is recyclable.
I use this daily morning and night. It's really gentle and doesn't dry out my skin like other cleansers. It does not have a lot of foam, therefore it might feel like it won't clean makeup but it does the trick. When I wear heavy makeup, I use a cream type cleanser first and then use this to finish. Would recommend to friends, it is a bit pricey but you only need a little bit, so it does last
I'm about half way through my bottle of this and I'm so in love with how it makes my skin feel. It's made a huge difference to my skin which is quite prone to pimples - I've definitely noticed less than before i started using it. I love that it is New Zealand made and uses such lovely ingredients.
Tips: It comes out quite fast so don't squeeze the bottle too hard when pouring it.
