Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

I enjoy the fact that Antipodes is a New Zealand company and dosent test on animals.

This cream comes in a ml brown glass pot with a black plastic lid. It will set you back around $58.00.

The cream is quite thick. I actually found it too thick for my skin, however if you have very dry sensitive skin I would suggest you try this. It did absorb mostly but on me there was still an amount that sat on top of my skin. It is very rich and creamy.

The scent is vanilla but not too much. Once my make up is on the scent seems to disappear.

On the whole this is a beautiful product but it is not for my skin.

Tips: I would suggest you try this if your skin is quite dry

Great for dry skin

This is a great day cream that provides great hydration. It leaves your skin supple and is especially good for winter when your skin needs more hydration or if you have dry skin.

The texture of this cream is slightly oily. Being a cream rather than a lotion or a moisturiser, the consistency is quite thick. However it's still easy to apply to your face. It's does take a while to dry and absorb into your skin, however being a thick cream I did expect this. Even though the texture of this cream is thick it doesn't feel too heavy on your skin.

I wish this product had SPF as I prefer to use face creams with SPF, however this is just a minor personal issue I have. I love how this products contains natural ingredients such as Manuka honey and grape extracts.

This cream comes in a round pottle. I prefer bottles with a squeezy lid for my face cream as it's easier to dispense reg product out. However due to the thickness of this cream a pot is probably more suitable. It just becomes hard to reach in and scrape the product out when it becomes less than half full and I hate getting cream stuck under my nails. He smell is really natural and has an earth and woody scent.

Overall, this is a great hydrating cream and I would recommend it to those who have dry skin. I probably wouldn't purchase this again as it doesn't have SPF.

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

This came as a part of the mini pack I bought with the oil. It comes in a tube which is pretty convenient. The cream is thicker than the face creams I have used before and you don't need to use a lot of it . It spreads well and smells amazing. Will definitely look into getting the bigger version of this.

Current day cream

This was included in a giveaway I won a few months ago and this is also the first Antipodes product I've ever tried.

I've been using it every day and I like it. It's not my favourite day cream but it does a good job of moisturising my skin before I apply makeup. The consistency of this cream is quite thick though and I prefer lighter moisturiser during the day. However, it smells lovely.

I like how this doesn't worsen my oily skin throughout the day but I can't saw it helped my blemishes too much. It didn't make me break out but it didn't help clear my skin either.

If you're after a heavy duty moisturiser, this would be great but it is on the pricey side.

Not the day cream for me

I got this in the mini size as I love the Antipodes Juliet cleanser. This stuff is packaged in a metal tube which may look nice but I found to be the downfall of this product – it becomes very difficult to get the last bits out of the tube and the paint flakes off into your hand and mixes with the product if you are not careful. Not good. The full size is in a tub though which prevents this, but has its own set of issues – hygiene and product stability being two.

Packaging issues aside, this has a strong vanilla scent, as you would expect. It smells almost like baking or something you would want to eat. The strong scent may irritate sensitive skins, so be careful of that.

It has a thick almost stiff texture but once rubbed in becomes very thin and light and absorbs fairly easily. It does need a bit of working in though. It absorbs better when mixed with an oil such as rosehip oil. I found this far too thick to use during the day, despite the name, and only used it at night.

Overall the scent of this is too much for me to want to put it on my face every night, so I won’t buy it again.

Vanilla Dream Cream

Packed in a nice cardboard box, that does look fresh and green, and does say buy me I'm good for your skin. This cream comes is a lovely brown glass jar with a black screw top lid with green foliage over the label, it looks and sounds good, Inside is a nice thickish cream off white in colour and has a light sweet vanilla border line marshmallow scent, fresh and alive in fragrance and feel. This cream is soft and light and creamy it feels rich in texture and readily absorbs into my skin leaving it fresh and soft. I get moisturising benefits with this cream as well as the benefit of the antibacterial properties in this cream, it really does help keep my skin supple and keeps blemishes down to a minimum. I recently suffered some bug bites on my face and I'm sure this cream helped keep my skin soft and helped heal my bug bites that were looking a little nasty. This I think is a wonderful moisturiser that keeps my skin moisturised and I love the fact that it does help with blemishes, weird as it sounds it keeps my skin feeling clean. My only thing is fingers in the jar "ick" so I use a wee spoon to get it out. Value if you're after a moisturiser that helps with breakouts but keeps your skin supple.

Tips: A little goes a long way :)

LUXURIOUS AND AMAZING!

The Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream has got to be one of my all time favourite moisturisers, up there with Celestial by Lush. I adore everything about this product, minus the price, so here's my wee rant about this gem:

Firstly, I LOVE how Antipodes as a brand focusses so highly on quality and using New Zealand ingredients. So refreshing and so real. Their packaging sets them apart from other brands with their natural, earthy style. This product comes in a generously sized screw-top glass pot, a nice wee touch of luxury.

The moisturiser itself is incredible. Quite thick for a day cream, but smooths on easily and absorbs quickly into the skin. It is a white, creamy colour, and does not leave the skin at all greasy or oily. The scent is the key thing here - this moisturiser smells like actual cupcakes! The most delicious scent I have ever experienced in a face product, period. It does not linger on your face, thankfully, but in those few moments of application you are surrounded by this cloud of vanilla-y bliss. Love.

Tips: Definitely recommend for anyone after a luxurious, slightly richer moisturiser that smells like a vanilla heaven.
