i heard sooo many reviews of this mask so had pretty high expectations after constantly hearing people rave about it, i had to try it out the moment i got it and have never looked back. i even got my bf to use it on his nose and cheeks and it dramatically changed his skin. i love this mask, only thing i hate is that i have to mix it myself, only on the lazy days. All in all, great mask

Tips: Mix up a little powder to a little vinegar at a time and add more as you go, otherwise you end up mixing soooo much more than what you need.
For my birthday I got an amazon gift card and ended up buying this... and it’s absolutely amazing!! As a skincare enthusiast, I definitely do not recommend using water instead of apple cider vinegar, it absolutely ruins it and after research it became apparent that anyone who had something bad to say about it on amazon was using this with water, or had dry skin (which with a drying clay mask is no good at all). Also, don’t use a metal bowl/spoon when mixing and applying this because it’ll deactivate the clay. Use a brush or wooden/plastic utensils.
Anyway, this is a mix it yourself mask, and sometimes it can be hard to get the right consistency, but once you do it settles on like a dream. I admit I can see how some people get annoyed with the smell, but after one use your nose gets used to it so it’s worth it in my opinion. The mask itself is absolutely amazing and always gives me the best results, the next day I always get compliments on how my skin is glowing, i look less red, etc. Helps my acne a whole bunch too, but if you get pimples then you need to be real careful and gentle when taking it off or its gonna tug at your skin barrier and cause irritation.
I would recommend this 100% however it is a lot of work to use it the right way.
Tips: Use Apple Cider Vinegar— not water!!!
This product is a saviour, it does exactly what it says by healing your skin and getting rid of scars and blemishes. I used once per week to start of with and it was amazing!! My skin felt so rejuvenated and plump and the best part is that you know it works because you can feel that sting! Will definitely get another one of these! 5/5 recommend
Tips: Start slow especially if you have sensitive skin maybe once a week or once every two weeks to get into the habit. Some people do have a purge but luckily I didn’t and yeah stay consistent because it actually works! Good luck!
A great clarifying mask that really helps clear pores! Mix a little powder in a bowl with some water to get the consistency you like and then apply on the skin.
I like to use on my T-Zone to help my pores and clarify the skin. After application you will start to feel a pulse on your skin with the clay working its magic. I always jump in the shower for a quick and easy removal as sometimes clay masks can stick to the skin a little more than other products.
Tips: This is not a product you would use multiple times a week, stick to once a week or so then it won't risk overly drying or stripping your skin of the natural oils.
I love this product and I have found that it has cleared my skin up really well. I suffer with really bad hormonal acne and this seems to really help. My pores have been reduced and skin is looking noticeably improved.
One thing that I did find hard was using the directions that were on the tub. It says to mix with water but all it does is clump up and doesn't have a smooth consistency. I tried using it with the apple cider vinegar and that worked so much better, giving a smooth, creamy consistency. Only thing is I have sensitive skin, so at first it felt a bit of a sting but didn't last long at all and then I felt nothing. I left it on for about 20-30 mins and it hardens up and starts to feel tight and itchy which is always a sign I've either had it on too long or its now time to rinse off. When I go to wash it off, I splash my face with water which I then rub the mask again and it gives it another thorough wash. Then I just rinse off. My skin is a little red after that, but not like rudolph red, and then it dies right down and all you're left with is clean looking skin, it feels great and pore size and complexion looking a lot clearer. I've been using this for a few weeks now and I love how it makes my skin feel and how it look. My makeup goes on a lot more smoothly too.
Tips: The directions say to use with water or apple cider vinegar. It doesn't work very well with water as it clumps up and doesn't go on smoothly at all. Definitely recommend using the apple cider vinegar as it mixes up into a nice smooth I've tried mixing with coconut oil and it was really nice however if you put too much coconut oil in it gets very liquidy so use as little as possible. I am also going to try it with almond oil or macadamia oil to see what thats like.
To start - I'm actually sitting typing this review in the mask!
I love a bargain but I'm generally suspicious of really cheap products. I think I would have paid maybe 7 NZD for a big tub from iherb four weeks ago. I've been using it once or twice a week and I haven't even made a dent in the clay! So value for money - check!
I have sensitive skin, so I'm always apprehensive about new products, especially ones which are going to be in contact with my skin for a long period of time. I followed the directions and didn't keep it on for more than 10 minutes. My face was red for a while afterwards, but the label says this can happen.
Mixing it up is a case of each to their own I think - definitely try it with Apple Cider Vinegar if you have it, but don't be put off by the consistency water gives you - it still does the job, you just look slightly less desirable while wearing the mask!!
The mask tightens quite dramatically and your face will feel warm and tingly - but it's not unbearable and in my head it means it's working.
Washing off is a bit of a mission - I recommend cleansing your face before applying the mask, then rinsing it off in the shower.
The effects - skin is visibly refreshed - it's flushed to start but once that wears off you'll be glowing. It does seem to pull out blackheads and blocked pores, and there's not a trace of oil. I suffer from oily "nose sides" and an oily chin - this mask is a godsend!
It's a shame this isn't readily available in NZ, it would be a very popular product - as it is, if you're ever ordering from iherb pop one in your cart - you wont regret it!
Tips: Use apple cider vinegar for a more consistent paste - it does work just as well with water but it's a bit lumpy and you kind of have to "slap" it on.
This is great to really freshen your face and rid it of sweat and oil at the end of a hot, muggy day! .
I bought Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask after reading the raves about it on here and further researching it online. To be honest I thought it all seemed a bit too good to be true as I've tried other clay masks and always felt like 'yeah they're alright but my skin's still looking pretty meh and I'm still breaking out'. I was glad to be proven wrong. This clay WORKS. It goes on thickly (although I do have to use a pastry brush to mix and apply it as using my hands was just mucky) and it makes your skin tingle then pulsate. It's pretty freaky feeling! Afterwards your skin is aglow! Since using it for three weeks I've noticed my acne has calmed down substantially. Smaller pimples that were there at the time of application seem to clear up more quickly and my skin just looks healthier. The Husband has also taken to using it and he's seeing results too. I don't know what the secret is to the clay but I'm glad someone discovered it and then put it into an affordably tub!
Tips: Use the apple cider vinegar rather than water - it seems to mix better with it. Also, pastry brush it on if you don't want to get all grubby :) Oh, I also take it off with a flannel - just using my hands didn't cut it - and then lightly exfoliate before moisturising.
I’ve been using this mask 3-4 times a week for the last month – This is the first cycle EVER where I’ve not had awful skin (hormonal breakouts are the bane of my life!). So yeah, to say this stuff works is an absolute understatement!
I mix it up with apple cider vinegar, which turns it into a mousse like paste. Not going to lie, all you are going to smell is vinegar! If you are using vinegar, don’t use anything metal to mix – I use an old spatula, which works well to smooth out any pockets of dry clay. The instructions overestimate the amount you need, if you load heaps on it’ll drop off as soon as you move once it’s dried. It dries very tight, as in you will struggle to talk. That may or may not be a con for you, but I don’t mind it. I haven’t had an issue with redness on my face, but my neck/chest always looks angry after. This subsides within 10 minutes.
Here’s the downside… It’s messy to take off. Best to remove either in the shower or the bath, where you can contain the mess. For the sake of the plumbing I would STRONGLY suggest putting muslin cloth over the drain to catch as much as you can… it’s clay after all, so can build up in your drains.
But the upside... Clear, happy skin!
Tips: Buy from iHerb, so cheap! If using regularly, be mindful that clay in drains isn't a good thing.
Well I purchased the Healing Clay from iherb a couple of weeks ago after reading some great feed back on here about it.
I add 2 Tbls of Clay together with 2 Tbls spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon.
It fizzes up then dies down and then I mix it, it goes into a mousse like state.
I use and old foundation brush to paint it on my face, found this is the best way to get a nice even coverage.
I leave mine on for about 20 mins to dry, you will feel you skin tingling and start to pulsate, this is it working! I then go jump in the shower to remove it. I let the water run on my face until the mask is completely wet again and wash off gently with my hands and remove the rest with a wash cloth. This is the best way for me and is so easy to take off like without any harsh scrubbing and mess just washes away.
After my face is alittle red but feels lovely and soft. The redness soon goes away. I then apply my fav moisturiser.
Tips: Use only plastic to mix with and Apple Cider Vinaegar to get best smooth mix. Apply with old foundation brush.
I bought a giant tub of this ff amazon, for a really cheap price- especially for what you get. I really think this tub could last me for the rest of my life! I mix it with apple cider vinegar, which makes it easier to mix, as I've found when I mix it with only water the consistency is lumpier. I leave the mask on for about 10-15 and no longer as when the mask starts to dry it's not the best feeling, so you don't wanna to leave it on for too long so to prevent it from drying out your skin. After you wash it off, your skin feels very refreshed and soft. Make sure you use a good moisturiser to replenish your skin! I always use this mask when I feel my skin needs a god deep clean. Overall, really good product, IF I ever ran out (which I doubt) I would definitely repurchase.
