A great clarifying mask that really helps clear pores! Mix a little powder in a bowl with some water to get the consistency you like and then apply on the skin.
I like to use on my T-Zone to help my pores and clarify the skin. After application you will start to feel a pulse on your skin with the clay working its magic. I always jump in the shower for a quick and easy removal as sometimes clay masks can stick to the skin a little more than other products.
Tips: This is not a product you would use multiple times a week, stick to once a week or so then it won't risk overly drying or stripping your skin of the natural oils.
I’ve been using this mask 3-4 times a week for the last month – This is the first cycle EVER where I’ve not had awful skin (hormonal breakouts are the bane of my life!). So yeah, to say this stuff works is an absolute understatement!
I mix it up with apple cider vinegar, which turns it into a mousse like paste. Not going to lie, all you are going to smell is vinegar! If you are using vinegar, don’t use anything metal to mix – I use an old spatula, which works well to smooth out any pockets of dry clay. The instructions overestimate the amount you need, if you load heaps on it’ll drop off as soon as you move once it’s dried. It dries very tight, as in you will struggle to talk. That may or may not be a con for you, but I don’t mind it. I haven’t had an issue with redness on my face, but my neck/chest always looks angry after. This subsides within 10 minutes.
Here’s the downside… It’s messy to take off. Best to remove either in the shower or the bath, where you can contain the mess. For the sake of the plumbing I would STRONGLY suggest putting muslin cloth over the drain to catch as much as you can… it’s clay after all, so can build up in your drains.
But the upside... Clear, happy skin!
Tips: Buy from iHerb, so cheap! If using regularly, be mindful that clay in drains isn't a good thing.
Well I purchased the Healing Clay from iherb a couple of weeks ago after reading some great feed back on here about it.
I add 2 Tbls of Clay together with 2 Tbls spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon.
It fizzes up then dies down and then I mix it, it goes into a mousse like state.
I use and old foundation brush to paint it on my face, found this is the best way to get a nice even coverage.
I leave mine on for about 20 mins to dry, you will feel you skin tingling and start to pulsate, this is it working! I then go jump in the shower to remove it. I let the water run on my face until the mask is completely wet again and wash off gently with my hands and remove the rest with a wash cloth. This is the best way for me and is so easy to take off like without any harsh scrubbing and mess just washes away.
After my face is alittle red but feels lovely and soft. The redness soon goes away. I then apply my fav moisturiser.
Tips: Use only plastic to mix with and Apple Cider Vinaegar to get best smooth mix. Apply with old foundation brush.
Well I bought this product from www.iherb.com after reading people reviews for it. It arrived from Cincinatti within 5 days which was fantastic.
I must admit when I first made it up I made too much mixture up - 4 tbl powder to 4 tbl cider vinegar as I was going to do a mask on myself and one for my teenage son who was getting some sore looking pimples on his face. We did save the remaining product up to use in a couple of days.
The mixture goes a LONG way so only a tbl each is sufficient for one person.
The smell was a bit gross to be honest but there was no residual smell after. We left it on for a good 30 mins until it dried as much as possible.
Our skin was so soft, smooth and polished after taking it off with warm water. I applied the mask again to my son two days later and his skin really started to heal very fast.
Tips: Don't laugh when it has nearly dried as it cracks and you look like a lizard! Try to take the larger bits off into a tissue as if it all goes down the drain it may block it as it may not wash all the way down the drainpipes.
Use a toner after it is removed to make sure every last bit has gone.
This was the mask I got when I first started to get skincare crazy. I got this off a health shop and I honestly did not have any idea what masks were for but the lovely lady at the shop said it was really good so I gave it a go.
It comes as a powder so you would have to mix it your self. It can get messy specially for a newbie mixing powder clay and I found it tricky to mix it into the right consistency.
The mask comes off quite thick and clumpy but I do not know if that was just because I was bad at mixing it. I mask is soothing when you apply it then it gets quite hard when it starts to dry. You can really feel your face pulsating! I did not find it uncomfortable but the pulsating sensation was a bit weird when you are a skin care newbie.
Now, taking the mask off is the tricky part.It dries into a thick hardened clay that can come off in pieces but the ones that stick has to be taken off with a warm wet wash cloth. I usually just do it in the shower and I gently rub the wash cloth on my face to remove the clay off. I find this method more time efficient than washing it off in the wash basin. My skin is always red after but it settles after a few minutes, then you can really see that your skin is clean and the skin looks really healthy! It can be a bit drying so be sure to moisturize but this mask is really good at cleansing pores!
Bought this after watching the YouTube reviews and I must say it's a great product. It is a bit clumpy when mixing and takes alto of stirring to get a good consistancy. I smells like clay which is what it is. No funny fragrances. For me it takes a long time to dry and when it does if feels like concrete. I prefer to take if off before it fully dries out as it can be a little painfull. My results were great. I felt like it left my skin cleaner and with a more even skin tone. I use it once a week as it drys out my skin if used to often.
Tips: You will notice some redness after using this but It goes away after a few minutes
I absolutely love this clay and have been using it for years in a range of ways. I add it to my homemade bathbombs, toothpowder, hair and face masks, and armpit detoxes. The product comes as a powder that I usually mix with water, oil or apple cider vinegar. Super easy to use, just needs to be mixed into a creamy paste but make sure you don't use metal utensils or bowls to mix it. A little goes a long way so it lasts for ages. Its fragrance free and has no hidden nasties which I really like.
After seeing so many positive reviews and cult followings with this mask, I finally had to give it a go. I mixed it up with apple cider vinegar and applied to my face and problem skin areas and let it sit for a good 20 min or so. It does make your skin pulse a bit, as described, and when I washed it off, my skin was left slightly red and blotchy but felt good and refreshed. The redness went away quickly and my skin felt so much cleaner and looked glowy and smooth for the net week or so - it also helped immensely with the areas I typically have oily or blocked pores so I was, overall, very impressed.
I probably don't use it as often as I should since I get lazy about mixing it up and clean-up compared to ready-mixed masks, but it honestly is one of the best masks I've used and really does all that it promises.
Tips: As suggested on the container, mix with apple cider vinegar for the extra benefits, rather than water.
I love this product! I add some into a bowl and mix with water. Cover myself head to toe. It's really cooling and I love the fact it clears skin. Even got some for my niece to help with pimples.
Makes your skin feel so smooth after
Tips: You can mix with water If ur feeling lazy just add to your bath
