This is soo easy to use just chuck in your car or bag then spray on and your good to go. Lightweight formula spreads on your skin and absorbs quickly. My only concerns are the fact that the contents of the can don't last very long and how well protected are we by spraying on such a thin sunscreen? I liked it though

I bought this because of the add on TV. SPF 50 This is in a spray can with a nice big fat push button, this is a black cylinder with some silver and blue and white on the container just sits on the shelf with the other sunblock it does jump out as the names intriguing and it looks good. So easy to use just spray, but I struggle with that concept I'm always squirting it on and rubbing it in, or squirting some in my hands and then rubbing it on I've never struggled so much with a product to do the application. On the up side it has a pleasant scent and it's clear in colour so no streaks to deal with. I feel a little greasy but not sticky so I don't end up feeling slimy and no white patches. A few drawbacks as I can't see how much product is left in it and I'm not sold on the spraying factor as I think there's quite a bit of wastage. On the plus side it has a pleasant fragrance it's lightweight and it works no sun getting through and burning my skin and it does last a few hours before I find myself applying more. I love the product but not in a spray so will try the lotion.
During summer I'm always looking out for sunscreens for my family. I wanted to try something different to a moisturiser. I thought I would give this spray a try on myself and my children.
This spray can has the Banana boat branding on it. Its easy to identify this can because of it's bright yellow colours used in the branding. This can comes in a 175 ml. Which is a lot of product for one can. I found the spray nozzle easy to apply. The texture of this spray is liquid. It didn't have any scent to it. It does appear to be clear coloured.
When I applied this spray on my children, I used this all over their arms and legs. As for the face areas, I sprayed this on my hands and quickly rubbed it on their faces. This spray lasted on myself and my kids for an hour in full sun. I did apply more on the hour. It only took me a couple of minutes to cover their whole bodies.
My results from using this can of spray was full protection from sun rays for about an hour. I do believe that you would need to re apply this spray. Its fast and easy to apply. It is priced in the mid to high range. If you need quick protection then this sunscreen is definitely the spray to use. Would I buy it again, I definitely would for fast protection. I haven't tried this in the water, I would love to try it again to see if it still protects my skin.
Tips: Do not spray directly on your face as it may sting your eyes, spray on to your hand and then apply.
I am all for sun protection all day every day. A few years ago I had sunburn pretty bad and ended up with blisters and 2nd degree burns on my back so being sun smart now is not an option it's a necessity! I am used to using sun creams but when I found sunscreen in a spray of course I had to try it! I also thought it would make my son more sun safe aware because he moans and groans when I make him put on his sunscreen. This spray for him was a novelty and one he enjoyed putting on. Winner, winner chicken dinner!
Banana Boat has always been a well loved brand of sunscreen in this household so was thrilled with that. The bottle is actually quite big compared to some of the other sunscreen sprays on offer so I was happy with the value for money. I always go for SPF30+ or higher so was happy it offered that. It has a push down spray cap which makes it easier to use. I do find though that the spray nozzle can become clogged with product and the spray can come out slower than it should and with not as much range.
It can be hard to get to all the places on your body because of it's clear look. So I end up using more than probably necessary to make sure the body is covered. After an an hour and half in the sun I noticed my skin turning red so quickly reapplied the spray to make sure I was protected. For me reapplying so often is quite annoying. Other sunscreens can go up to two hours without reapplication. At the end of the five hour day at the beach and applying this spray every hour after the second time I still ended up with slight sun burn. That is NOT what I signed up for. I expect protection if I use it correctly. I think I will stick to my sun creams thanks!
Tips: Reapply more often than suggested because it wears off pretty fast it seems
I've used a few bottles of this as it's a really convenient way to keep sunscreen handy in your bag. The nozzle top thing you press is a bit temperamental though and can jam. My second bottle completely gave up after a few uses!
I used this sunblock when I was on holiday with my boyfriend. I got sunburnt sitting at lunch for about 30 minutes. I followed directions on how to put it on and I got so badly burnt I have been meaning to review this sunblock. This maybe good for people who don't burnt easily but if you have fair skin like me stick to the cancer society. Their sunblock is tested for New Zealands harsh UV rays. It was expensive and did not work for me so I do not recommend.
Banana boat spray on sunscreen is one of those old school originals, it is definitely a brand I remember using when taking a trip to the pools or beach when I was a kid, all i wanted to do was jump in that cool water so i think my parents did a great job in picking a sunscreen that all my siblings would just quickly spray and take off, without having to rub in cream everywhere.
I like to have this Banana Boat sunscreen because it has good water resistance, and is a brand I trust. I quite like having sunscreen in sprays as it makes applications much faster and it means that you can get those harder-to reach places. However, it being a spray also means there is a lighter layer. Need to therefore make sure to rub it in still and possibly do a second coat.
I've bought this a couple of times as I really like it, it sprays on easily and isn't sticky. One downside I found is that due to the 'pros' listed above it can be hard to know exactly where you've covered and could end up missing one or two spots as a result. I tend to tackle this problem by trying to be systematic when applying and also not rubbing it in until I've applied to the entire area. Otherwise I love it and would definitely use it again, as I have. Great for hard to reach places, kids and summer fun.
I am highly conscious of making sure my family are covered up for the sun, but with kids that are constantly on the go this product was perfect! I am aware that there is a child version of this sunscreen, but for a number of reasons, I love this one the most. The actually can itself is very easy to hold onto. The cap is young child proof and easy to use once I showed my eldest how to use it. Not having to sit there are rub it in is a huge bonus when trying to sunscreen 2 year old boys. The mist of spray is an even coat and even though there is a clear shiny film left on the skin, it is a good indicator as to what parts you have covered. It usually lasts 2 hours and we re do everyone just to be safe. All summer it was used and not a single sunburn in sight! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
