I use this mainly on very dry skin and it really helps as well as a massage oil since it is such a fine oil. I love the smell of it too. I hasn't done anything for scars/stretch marks for me but I don't use it religiously enough to judge that really. So I would recommend for dry skin but not so much for the other things it is advertised towards.

Definitely one of the best products to relieve dry and itchy skin. My husband used this twice daily after skin surgery on his nose and massaged it in well. The scaring is now only noticeable to those that know the surgery ever occurred. Amazing results and a great product.
Tips: Use every day to see results.
This product claims to work on scars and dark marks. It also takes time. I used this miracle stuff over a period of four months. My daughter used it for the same period for some scars she wasn't happy with. I don't know if it was the massage motion or the actual oil, but in both cases, her scars faded, my facial scars faded and some pigmentation also faded. You don't need to use a lot, just a few drops, so it does work out to be economical. It smells pleasant and I have since bought more, and given some to a sister who had a bad accident requiring surgery. This stuff worked for me when Rosehip oil was too much for my skin. So...even though I naturally prefer natural products, this oil actually worked really well for both of us.
Tips: Don't give up on it too quickly. I think most of us want 'instant' effects, but when it comes to this stuff, the longer you use it, the better the effect.
I was so sadly disappointed with this oil. I had a lot of stretch marks from my younger years which I used bio oil on for months with no results. It has really only been time that has healed them for me. Now I have a ton more high on my belly from my pregnancy but I wont be reaching for the Bio oil. I didn't really enjoy the application of the oil. It was overly greasy and did not feel like it ever really absorbed fully which made my clothes stick to it & made me feel quite gross. It was more suited to a massage oil in my opinion or a bath oil but with the price tag it carries you can find cheaper options which will work just as well. It has made me wonder why you never see before & after photos with the Bio Oil advertising...
Tips: Don't buy into the hype that this product has created without getting a smaller bottler or sample & trying it first.
Also bare in mind that some people are more prone to stretch marks regardless of what you do to try & prevent them - of at least this is what my midwife told me.
Did nothing for me. I got one of the big bottles. Had high hopes; only to be disappointed. Didn't even make my stretch marks seem less prominent after finishing the whole bottle. Basically paid a lot of money for a lot of nothing. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone.
Tips: Find something else. Or realise stretchmarks from pregnancy are a gift from your kids <3
I brought this to help with dry skin, scaring as well as stretch marks.
When I used it I really disliked how long it would take to soak into my skin. I would put on my legs if wearing clothes that wouldn't go near the skin. So I tried mixing with moisturizer hoping that would help. It didn't :(
I heard it would be good for hair, so I tried putting mid way down to ends. Yes it did soften slightly at the ends.
If I had some on my hands and put on my face, my skin loathed it. Itchy and break out in a kind of pimple rash.
I'm sure it would be great for some people but not for me sorry
Tips: Rub rub rub into your skin and use a small amount
I like Bio Oil as a moisturiser & that's about all it was good for for me. I used it consistently for about 2 months & my skin liked it but it didn't reduce the appearance of my scarring or my uneven skin tone. The packaging is appropriate, I like that you can see the volume of the Oil. It has a delicate smell, nothing fragrant.
I purchased this originally for two reasons - firstly, to fade the unsightly stretch marks which had appeared on my 'love handles' after gaining weight, and secondly to help fade my acne scars.
I was pretty religious in my use of this over more than a month, using it first thing in the morning and then again before bed. I loved the feeling of the oil on my body, but not my face! It left my skin looking greasy throughout the day, like it just needed a thorough cleaning.
Unfortunately, after about a month of using it I noticed no difference in the scarring on my face or body. I stopped using it on my face, and used it until it ran out instead as a moisturiser on my legs.
I didn't find this lived up to the hype, and I wouldn't repurchase it.
Tips: Use it as a body oil moisturiser after your shower on your legs, the oil will help trap moisture in and make them feel silky smooth.
I found Bio Oil to be amazing. It was a product that actually did what it says it does. Although a tad on the pricey side it is well worth it, leaves skin feeling great with a noticable difference.
Tips: Use straight after showering or even add a few drops to your bath water
I used this for months. I bought multiple bottles and applied religiously every day. I really stuck to it but this stuff did nothing except cost far too much! Next time I want cheap smelling mineral oil I'll buy it at the dollar store. It didn't nourish my skin, just felt greasy and smelt really artificial. It also made no difference whatsoever to my scarring or stretch marks which iswwhy I began using it.
Tips: Rosehip oil is better for scarring and stretchmarks, coconut oil is better for your skin (it's also cheaper and non perfumed!). There are far better ways to spend your money. Over hyped. *I'd also like to mention that mineral oil (which is mainly what this is made from) cannot absorb into your skin. It just sits on top, and can cause a lot of irritation in some skins.
