I used this on my stretch marks on my hips and legs. I did not find it very effective as it did not smooth them out nor fade them.

I was so excited when I heard about Bio Oil and absolutely couldn't wait to try it...but after about 3 months of using it as directed with little to no results I gave up. I was using it mainly to try and fade some acne scarring on my back and I had no visible results above natural fading just a lot of time spent feeling sticky...it is a very messy product to work with! Unfortunately though I'm still on the hunt for a scar product that works.
I have heard so many great things about bio oil, it's supposed to do wonders! But I HATE it! I religiously applied it every day for over a year to a scar I had on my knee and it did absolutely nothing for me. Around 10 years later and the scar is still obvious!
In all fairness I did a mighty good job in skinning the whole top of my knee right down to the bone, so I shouldn't have been expecting a miracle, but with all of the hype I had heard, I had hope.
I wouldn't purchase again - it made NO difference
Bio Oil has been in the bathroom cupboard for as long as I can remember.
It comes in a plastic container that for the most part firmly contains the oil but occassionally allows leaks between the bottle and the lid.
The oil itself is a light orange and has a gentle scent.
In my family we have also used it at some stage. I used it for stretch marks for a long time and cannot say I noticed any significant difference. My brother also used it for a scar which over about 2 years faded to nearly invisible.
Now I do not know if our differing results were due to him being a kid at the time and his skin growing and stretching the scar out, or if it was that the bio oil is better on scars.
I would say this product is worth a go, but results really do vary.
Tips: You need to apply it at least once everyday for a long time for it to have any significant impact.
I have used this on and off for a few years. I haven't noticed that it has made any difference to stretch marks but it is a pleasant moisturiser. I've often used it before travelling to make sure my skin is moisturised properly before a skin drying long haul flight. Is a decent product but I prefer other skin oils currently on the market.
A super body moisturiser particularly around the neck and on the decolletage. The fragrance is not extraordinary but this is the only very small criticism I have of this product.
Tips: It does take a while to absorb into your skin so make sure you have time to allow this before dressing.
Great moisturiser, very oily, it gave me a really nasty rash so stopped using it, I do have sensitive skin though.
Tips: Really good for putting on straight after a shower or bath when skin is still wet.
I used Bio Oil for a few weeks in an attempt to reduce the appearance of minor stretch marks. The bottle is pretty standard, however a screw top lid is not ideal when you are left with oily hands. I also found it difficult to control how much product was dispensed, and almost always ended up with too much. The oil has almost no scent, isn't luxurious to use and feels like it is sitting on top of the skin. It leaves a very oily residue, which would be okay if it was only being applied to a small scar.
I used Bio Oil for a few weeks, and noticed no difference in my stretch marks, however I wouldn't expect to for this period of time. I replaced my standard body butter with Bio Oil for that area of my skin, and I found that it become dehydrated. Not flaky or dry, but certainly dull and dehydrated. I stopped using Bio Oil after reading the ingredients and deciding that it was something that I no longer wanted to apply to my body.
Used it through my pregnancy and helped my skin stay soft but didn't help with stretch marks! Lol also used as a face moistiser as i had uneven skin tone but didn't help there either, plus its quite pricey!
I used Bio Oil on my stomach and legs when i was pregnant with both my kids. I made sure i used it twice a day as my tummy grew and started to itch, it relieved the itching and prevented stretch marks. I didn't use it on my scars as I wasn't sure if it would work on scars from when I was 5 years old, (they just faded a bit over time anyway). It wasn't very good in the summer though as it didn't absorb well into my skin and when i got hot it just felt yuck and slimy.
