I started using this product following surgery to reduce the visibility of the surgical scars. I thought it did a reasonably good job. Although the scars are still visible the visibility is significantly reduced particularly for one of the scars which is only visible in a couple of small patches along the scar line. I used the product for more than a year.

Tips: Apply at least twice a day.
I used this when pregnant with both of my children as a preventative from stretch marks. It worked for me or it may be genetics? I used this in the shower to get a good coverage but I did find that it would irritate my legs so I used it on areas where stretch marks may appear. I don't think it would get rid of stretch marks that are already there, mainly as a preventative. It isn't cheap to buy and there are likely to be other options out there now. I can't review on scars or uneven skin tone.
Tips: Use in the shower
Years ago I fell badly down stairs and had a painful scar on my knee. I had scar reconstructive surgery and the pain was gone, though redness remained. My surgeon recommended using bio oil twice daily and massage for 5-10 minutes. It did help to soften the scar over time
Tips: Don't just apply it. Massage it in.
I purchased this as I had a fresh scar under my eye after a mole removal. I have been using this on my face for 6 months. It is the first oil I’ve ever used on my face, and I’m now looking at trying other oils. The scar has definitely faded, and I feel other benefits have been gained also. My skin feels more hydrated, and looks more even. I would definitely use again, but want to try other oils now…
Tips: It lasts for ages, and I use it on other skin also.
I’m bad at keeping a routine but I’ve purchased this a couple months ago for scaring all over my body, my mum has raved about bio oil before. My scaring is starting to fade slowly and I’m looking into trying some of their regular skincare routine products! Will keep trying this to see how it works over 6-12 months
I was recommended by a friend to try bio oil to help combat ingrown hairs. We had both been recommended a product by our beauty therapist but found this didn't work so well and was very chemically. Bio oil works a treat!! less ingrown's and if you do get them much easier to get out.
I lost my appendix in 2013 (well we had to break up we wanted different things)
I had some scars from surgery and this has helped me heaps. I think it is something that works over time. I think this isn't for everyone but it isn't a quick fix!
However it said it could also be used as a moisturiser and.... well it lied! Well for me anyway it was just to greasy and caused my skin to freak a little. So I keep it as my secret weapon on my scars although I hope not to get more of these.
Tips: Keep at it. What's that saying? It won't happen over night but it will happen?
Like everyone, I initially used Bio-Oil in the hopes of preventing stretch marks. I can't say it *absolutely* didn't work - I didn't get stretch marks around my belly button, which is mostly where I applied it - but I did get them very low on my abdomen and round my hips, where I hadn't applied it as religiously. Legitimate correlation or just the way I carried? No idea.
But! Several months ago I started using it on my legs and elbows in the vain hope it'd help my psoriasis. It didn't even claim to help psoriasis, but nothing else was working and I figured it was worth a shot.
Well, it took a while, but my plaques are now completely gone. To be honest, it might have been the strict moisturising regimen as much as the actual content of the moisturiser... but it worked! Smooth elbows for the first time in years.
I've also noticed that a dab on my face helps heal acne scars quickly, as well as being a nice light moisturiser.
I know this stuff's controversial, but I like it... for certain purposes. And as much as it costs, it's cheaper than rosehip oil.
I have used Bio Oil for a number of years, not only on scar tissue but on dry areas and have found it to be extremely effective. I think there is a limitation to what it is capable of doing to scar tissue (as would any product) but for dehydrated areas I rate it above average. Areas I have used it on are elbows, knees and neck area. I rate it above average.
I had two pregnancy and I used this oil with both of them, leave my skin soft and help the itchy skin during the last months. Used up to 2 times daily in my tummy help to reduce my stretch marks. Well I ll say that if I ll get pregnant again, I ll definitely use it again.
