I use bio oil on my stomach for stretch marks and it really seems to help. I had silvery/white stretch marks from when I put on a lot of weight and they are barely visible now. I also like the smell and feel of bio oil. My skin gets really dry and dehydrated so this helps immensely with that too.

Tips: Use sparingly.
I really like this oil. It's good for my skin and my family's skin, I use it on my stretch marks and ruff skin, I also use it on my legs a lot after shaving. So smooth and nice, I like the smell, overall it's a really good product I like it, my family like it. But... This oil does have its pros and cons, sadly I only represent the pro, it's worked great on me but the cons are towards what other people that don't experience the wonder of this product. I have had most of my friends say it doesn't work on their skin, but personally it's fab on my skin, I continue to use it, and I will continue to use it in the near future.
Bio oil felt great on my skin even though it didn't absorb that well. Very expensive but lasted a long while. A surprising thing I found was that, it works wonders for mosquito bites! Put a dab on wherever you have a mozzy bite and it'll fade very soon!
Tips: Use on mosquito bites for quick fading of redness!
I was an awkwardly tall teenager growing up. 6ft tall and curvy with stretch marks coming out my ears from rapid growth so I spent alot of my time covering my body so the stretch marks couldn't be seen.
I never knew about Bio Oil until I was in to my 20s when my mama passed me a bottle for my birthday thinking it may help my self esteem if they were to fade a bit. I was in heaven after reading what it could do so of course I rubbed some on as soon as I opened it.
It's very oily but it's called Bio OIL so I knew what I was in for. It doesn't absorb in to the skin like I thought it would. It kind of just sits on the surface but of course I needed to give it a fair try because my self esteem is worth more than one go at it.
After three weeks of continuous use I noticed a definite improvement in the colour of my stretch marks and began gaining some confidence back. I continue to use it to this day and all through my pregnancy and am happy to report that my stretch marks are just white streaks now and not visible unless you look up close. My confidence is back in force and I am a true believer in Bio Oil!!!
Tips: Use a small amount because once you massage it in it spreads.
Whatever it is they are putting into this oil...it works!
This vaguely medical looking little bottle of pale orange oil has fixed so many minor skin annoyances for me over the years. It's faded stretch marks, sped up healing of scratches, healed and faded old scars, rehydrated very dehydrated skin on feet/knees/elbows and lasted forever.
My very slight gripes with the product lie in the residue. Okay, it's an oil, but it does sit on the skin far longer than is convenient and I have had to remove oil stains from clothing because of this. I just use a towel under or something now. Also, the scent is a chemical, petrol-like smell that isn't unpleasant but is very strong. Neither of these put me off, and should not be taken as reasons not to use the product. It really does work - the hype is true.
I don't feel like it offers anything that any other oil wouldn't. My bottles tend to sit there for a long time, and if tipped over will leak slightly. It smells fine, but it is no better than any other moisturiser for preventing stretch marks. It has no qualities that would in itself remove the appearance of scars. It is also very overpriced in my opinion.
I really love how bio oil makes your skin feel. It is great on dry skin, I put a tiny bit of this on my face when it dries out and it works amazing, it also smells nice.
I have used this on my thigh and breast stretch marks and I saw some fading although not a massive reduction in them but it left my skin feeling super soft.
I put a few drops of this in the bath and my skin comes out feeling silky and soft.
I love using this to hydrate my skin and a little goes a long way although it is abit pricey.
Tips: Good for dried out skin
I don't use this on my stretch marks or scars because I find it just doesn't work. HOWEVER, I still love this product and want to keep using it. Why? Because it gives amazing hydration to my skin. It makes it feel so soft and definitely helps to even out my skintone on my face. I have a moisturizer in a pot at the moment so I just mixed a few drops of this into what's left so far and I find it makes my not-so-great moisturizer into a pretty awesome one. It also sits well under make up which I didn't even think about when I mixed it, but am very pleasantly surprised by. I personally also like the packaging and find it very easy to not overuse product. I also like the smell, although I don't think it's the kind of scent that's for everyone. Also it doesn't irritate my skin or make me break out which is wonderful.
Tips: Don't even bother using it on scars or stretch marks in my opinion, just use it for hydration by mixing a bit in with your moisturizer or layering it underneath if you have the time.
I had 3 moles removed from my face a few years ago and my doctor suggested I use Bio Oil on my scars. I did take his advice and used it as directed. The scars were small so I wasn't sure how the results would be. The oil was quite lovely to use with a mild fragrance. It absorbed well into my skin and I didnt feel it was oily or greasy. I bought the 60ml bottle and it lasted about a year. You dont have to use too much as a tiny bit goes a long way. As far as the results go, I do have small scars but they are very hard to see. It left my skin feeling nourished and moistured.
although bio oil is not very absorbent and stays on the skin for a while, i found it worked really well at making scars less noticeable! i use it every night and have really seen a difference! it has taken down any redness around scars, but also making the white scar itself disappear slowly. The oil also hydrates your skin well if you have dry skin, which i find really helps me. i often just use it as a moisturizer also.100% recommend! also watch out for clothing as the oil can stain it!
