I used this for months. I bought multiple bottles and applied religiously every day. I really stuck to it but this stuff did nothing except cost far too much! Next time I want cheap smelling mineral oil I'll buy it at the dollar store. It didn't nourish my skin, just felt greasy and smelt really artificial. It also made no difference whatsoever to my scarring or stretch marks which iswwhy I began using it.

Tips: Rosehip oil is better for scarring and stretchmarks, coconut oil is better for your skin (it's also cheaper and non perfumed!). There are far better ways to spend your money. Over hyped. *I'd also like to mention that mineral oil (which is mainly what this is made from) cannot absorb into your skin. It just sits on top, and can cause a lot of irritation in some skins.
I used this with all my pregnancies(pretty much 4 years straight) even though it didn't work the first time, and it didn't make any difference with stretch marks and skin tone! It's pretty much just a scented oil(not a very nice scent either, but I got used to it) I say an overpriced oil too, seeing as it doesn't do what it says. It was good for dry skin though, obviously, because it's oil based. To be fair, others I know claim it has worked for them, so it guess it just wasn't for me..
This product is not good at all. When my daughter was 5 she fell over and hit her head on the corner of a skip bin, splitting her head open above her eyebrow. After it had healed it was recommended that we use Bio Oil on her scar to make it fade. It did nothing at all, and after a few weeks use she had a sever re-action to it and where we had been applying it she got severe blisters. I will never again purchase this product, and never recommend it to anyone!
I don't see the hype around this product. I have used it on many of my scars repeating application for long period of time and never saw a difference! I didn't like the smell of it and found that by bottle leaked a lot. I also found that it never really soaked into my skin properly and would leave a greasy layer. I was really disappointed with this product.
This product is a big bogus waste of money. If it's going to do ANYTHING for improving your skin texture or scarring, it's only because you're more actively moisturising and massaging that area.
Tips: Skip this!
I've heard so many rave reviews about this and how it reduces visibility of stretch marks and all that. I was very disappointed when all this left me with were grease marks on my clothes. The smell is nice but I don't like the really thick, oily feeling (yes, I understand it's an oil) on my skin.
I won't be using this again, it's one of those 'hyped' products that's not all that.
3 kids later and a series of tiger stripes to rival a tiger, I thought this would be perfect to try. Hyped about so much on tv, I thought wow this may actually work. Well.... I was very disappointed. There are oil products out there that dont actually leave your skin feeling oily, this one unfortunately wasnt one of them. I can't stand that oily feeling, and I really dont want to be sticking to my clothes. Maybe I might have seen some results if I had managed to use it for longer than a few days! Not worth its pricetag either, I found it to be quite over priced.
My mum bought this for me as she had seen the ads and thought it would be good for me after I had shoulder surgery in July 2012. I started using it a couple days after surgery and I had asked the Doctor if it was ok to use and his reply was, Its not so much the oil you use, it the motion of the massage that helps with skin cell rejuvenation. He did use alot bigger words that I can't spell lol. So 3 times a day I religiously massaged it around my scare. I found the Bio-oil really thick greasy feeling, the smell was ok but noticed it didn't really absorb into my skin. My scare is ok looking but not as good as my neck one which I used macadamia oil as I really like the feel and it absorbs into the skin, so hydrating. Now also wondered if my neck scare looks better as its in a crease and the skin is looser compared to the tight skin on my shoulder. Overall I do feel its more of the motion than the oil and Bio-oil is just too greasy for me I'll stick to macadamia oil.
Ahh Bio oil...what can I say... 1st of all this product is pretty much a (very) over-priced baby oil, which will actually do less for your skin than a $10 bottle of actual baby oil!
It is jammed packed full of NASTY ingredients, such as Isopropyl Myristate(which is used in flea and tick treatments), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone(banned from most fragrant products!) and Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene CarboxaldehydeL (common causer of allergic reactions). Seriously this so called specialist skincare oil is nothing more than a bottle full of chemicals, fullers and dyes. The formulation claims to be a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base but in reality Bio Oil contains 29 ingredients... four are plant extracts two are vitamins used in nearly every cosmetic product and one is a mineral oil, the rest are nasty chemicals that your skin just dosnt need!
My experiences with the product... well it even smells of chemicals, it takes forever to soak into the skin and it does nothing for stretch-marks, scars or uneven skin tone. If I could give this 0/5 I would!
Tips: if you really want to reduce stretch marks than heres a great tips that worked wonders for me after the birth of my son...MASSAGE ! Seriously massage the area with any NATURAL cream or oil (even olive oil!) for at least 10min per day. massaging the area stimulates blood flow which really helps reduce stretch marks. I had very deep ones and now you can barely see them at all! Oh and drink plenty of water .
I find this upsets my skin in the long term (in the first few days it hydrates but then your skin gets used to the mineral oil and it interferres with natural oil production and It starts breaking out and devleoping dry patches) and I cannot tolerate the smell it is so overpowering it impregnates your clothing and interferres with all of my perfumes.
Tips: If you are using this and having good results you may possibly save yourself money by just applying baby oil as Mineral oil is the same ingredient in both products and the main component of Bio-oil.
