I used this product for over 5 months (3 times a day at least) to try get rid of some razor burn scars I had all over my thighs...
Okay let me be honest, I left my burns get worse and worse. I would itch it a lot until it left permanent scars.
I used this as it claimed to get rid of scars and after reading some online amazon reviews, I had high hopes.
I used it and for the first month and I DID notice some improvements in the dryness of my thighs, they were very soft but the scars didn't go away at all. The moisture was good but it didn't deffer much from my normal moisturizer which is by far less expensive! I kept using this 3-5 times a day for 5 months and still no improvements so I gave up!
I then decided to use some old home remedies and even though this is hated by many, I rubbed pure lemon on my thighs twice a day for 3 days. Results? yes, dry skin BUT NO SCARS!! I then used some bio oil for a week to get rid of the dry skin and wallaaaa!
SO in conclusion, thanks for reading my story lol but it didn't do what I expected it to in my opinion. Not sure about stretch marks as I have not tried using in for that purpose but I can tell you that for me, it did not remove ANY scars. It DID moisturize but I would use a cheaper (and better smelling) moisturizer or lotion. This doesn't smell that bad but I prefer other scents
Tips: Only use as moisturizer don't expect anything more...
Personally the product didn't really help with my stretch marks, only made my skin very oily and wet. I have since found other products to help but am slightly disappointed this didn't. It worked well on scarring such as acne scars but that wasn't my sole reason for buying this product.
Tips: i used at night time so that my oily skin wasn't affected by anything else and it had time to sink into my skin.
I got it when I was pregnant to help prevent stretch marks.. I applied it on belly many times during the day especially during the end of pregnancy and didn't find any valid reason to use it again and again... Just normal oil..
This oil is available from the Warehouse for about $29, it's quite expensive stuff. There was a near identical product right next to it that retailed for $4 and I bought a bottle of that too!
It applies smooth and has a light fragrance. I adore the peach colour of this and appreciate that the oil is easily absorbed into the skin. It was nice and did provide some relief from my seasonal allergy itching as well as spared me from pregnancy stretch marks but I don't feel like the results justified the price because of the near identical product I purchased the same day provided the same results for a fraction of the price.
Tips: Best used straight after a bath or shower when your skin is still wet. Go to the Warehouse if you're looking for this, you might find the cheaper version like I did.
I use this product because I have a lot of scars from previous surgeries that have turned hypertrophic. I have been using it for awhile now but I have not noticed much change- probably because my scars are huge. My sister also uses Bio Oil- she has a smaller scar from previous surgery that hasn't turned hypertrophic- She has found that it has helped. It has turned her scar lighter and it is slowy disappearing.
Tips: I think Bio Oil is good for small scars but it is definitely not a complete cure to get rid of scars! Use silicone sheets with Bio Oil :)
I used this a couple of years ago when I fell over and scraped my face up. I think it helped with healing as I didn't end up with any scarring (luckily) but I didn't find it very effective on stretchmarks.. Also not a fan of the smell or the residue it leaves on your skin!
I used bio oil after having stretch marks develop when I was 32 weeks pregnant with twins. I used to slather it on as my skin felt like it was ripping, and used it all the way up until they were born at 41 weeks. I was told not to use it for too long due to the chemicals in it, but it did seems to soothe my skin a little. I of course still have stretch mark scars and cannot comment if they are better than they would be otherwise
I bought a small bottle of Bio Oil because I heard it works wonders on scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin and god knows what else. It seemed like a miracle product! I've nearly used the whole bottle now on the uneven skin tone on my arms and stomach area, and I can see a small difference, though not much. It does moisturise your skin alright, though I'm not particularly fond of massaging that oil in, and if you wanted this just for dehydrated skin, you would be so much better off with an actual moisturizer from Nivea or something. I will try another bottle to see if there will be more effect, but I recommend you try a product that specializes in whatever you're trying to fix.
Sadly I saw no change in the colour of my stretch marks, I continuted to use this product for a year and haven't noticed 1 slight change at all! Very sad. I recently looked at the ingredients and noticed that there were no things in it that benefited the skin. Worth a try though because I hear it working wonders for some, lucky people!
