After seeing Bio Oil advertised as an excellent product I thought I would give it a try. It has a pleasant smell. It works nicely on dry skin by leaving it silky smooth. It did not reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. It's just a good body oil.

I found this helped with stretch marks with regular use but it made no difference to my scars. It’s not exactly cheap if you’re using it every day which is what is recommended. I’m also not a fan of the packaging - it just looks like a pharmacy product! What’s inside the packaging is obviously more important but I also like my beauty items to look pretty! Even though it’s an oil I had to used quite a bit of product at a time.
I used this oil throughout my first pregnancy, and really loved the smell and ritual of rubbing it on as my belly grew. I thought it was working really well, until my baby was born and I could see the bottom of my stomach and all the stretch marks :-( So although it didn't prevent stretch marks from forming, I would recommend as it kept my skin from feeling itchy and tight during pregnancy. It was a nice way of feeling like I was looking after myself - and to be honest I don't think anything would have stopped me getting stretch marks anyway!
Tips: It is a bit messy being a liquid oil, so I would be interested in trying the new dry skin oil Bio Oil product, which is like a cream rather than the runny oil.
I used this at the start of my pregnancy with my first baby, it was great at first. Then I started to get stretch marks, and while using this I found that it actually made my skin a bit dry so my stretch marks got a bit worse over time with my skin being dry! But I love the texture of the oil and thick it is :)
Bio oil is not as great as I thought it would be on scaring, fresh scaring too. Have not noticed a difference in the past few months I have been using it
All this product does is moisturize. It doesn't help scars or stretch marks either. I used this generously during and after both of my pregnancies, but didn't get the desired results. It is quite costly too. I like the smell though.
I wouldn't repurchase bio oil, however, I would continue to use it if it was given to me, or if I found it on a good special. The only thing bio oil has done for me, is hydrate my skin and prevent it from getting dry and itchy. (Mainly the tummy area). No improvement on stretch marks whatsoever, which is a shame as that was the only reason why I purchased it in the first place.
I used this through first pregnancy but probably not as often as I was meant to. It didn't seem to stop any stretch marks but it does leave my skin really soft
I used it for a few months after my daughter was born after a recommendation from friends and family. It seemed to work for everyone else and it did eventually for me as well but not as effectively as I had hoped, my scars are still there and the oil itself blocked my pores easily and caused minor breakouts (on my stomach???). I used it daily after showering using a cotton pad to apply. The cotton pad absorbed a lot of the oil but it didn't seemed to affect the amount that got back onto your skin when applying so I didn't end up wasting any. It did however take a while to dry so I would be stuck for a while waiting to put my pants on so that I wouldn't stain my clothing. The months I spent doing this daily ritual didn't seem to get me anywhere very fast so I would assume that it would take longer to see effective results. I however became frustrated and discontinued using it due to the slow progress and the price.
Tips: If you're going to use this you will need to use it for a very long time to achieve results, exfoliating the area and using it while you are still pregnant (if stretch marks are what you are using it on) will probably help that. Just an additional update, I was clearing our my cupboard recently and came across my old half empty bottle of it that I thought I had gotten rid of. As I'm not one to be wasteful of things I've paid for I decided to try it out on my cuticles as I'd run out of my usual oil, and blow me down it does a better job than my usual stuff does. A bit expensive to buy simply for use on your cuticles but if you give it a go and find it doesn't work for what you bough it for, at least you can use it for that instead and not have wasted the money
Its a very soothing oil its smells really nice and i love the peachy pienk colout. However after a couple of night of using it i start getting a rash. I have stoped and started using it agaim and every time the same thing happens. I have very sensetive skin tho.
Its a bit thin aswell i jave used better bio oils for scaring. I couldent tell that it did anything for my skin.
