Bio Oil

I used this on my stretch marks on my hips and legs. I did not find it very effective as it did not smooth them out nor fade them.

I was so excited when I heard about Bio Oil and absolutely couldn't wait to try it...but after about 3 months of using it as directed with little to no results I gave up. I was using it mainly to try and fade some acne scarring on my back and I had no visible results above natural fading just a lot of time spent feeling sticky...it is a very messy product to work with! Unfortunately though I'm still on the hunt for a scar product that works.

I have stretch marks on my inner thighs and even though they don't bother me too much, I'd prefer it if they disappeared. I tried regular massaging with this oil. IT DID NOTHING. I don't understand how it can claim to do the things it's supposed to do. If you're using this more as a moisturiser that's not too bad but there are plenty of other oils in the market now you can pick from.

I got this product for myself when my son was 3 years old, because of the stretch marks on my stomach and legs. I was excited to use this product as it had been, and still is, hyped up over commercials etc. I was highly disappointed. It comes in a plastic bottle that doesn't seem to hold the oil very well once the bottle has been opened the first time. The oil goes on your skin nicely but takes a long time to absorb, and the feeling of putting your clothes over it feels horrible. I used it for 3 months, didn't notice any change myself, so I would say it didn't work for me. Some people swear by this, so just because it didn't work for me, doesn't mean it may not work for you.

I have combination skin, leaning towards oily and I found the product too oily, causing me to breakout. It took some time to penetrate in the skin and left me feeling like I had an oily film on my skin. Sorry Bio-Oil but I'll have to give you a miss!

I got to try this when it was first released as I had worked in a pharmacy and we got full sized bottles for free to sample. I was really looking forward to it because I had marks that were left behind from my Eczema and I had the odd stretch mark. I used it until the bottle finished and unfortunately nothing changed, my marks were still extremely visible and my stretch marks were still there. However I did try it on a recent scar I had and I noticed there were changes happening with the scar as it was slowly starting to fade, so I guess it is only best to use it on recent imperfections you do not like.

In future I will not purchase this, instead I will keep using my coco butter and coconut oil.

Somehow I have so many tiny bottles of this stuff lying around the house! I'm not a fan of Bio Oil - I just don't think it works. I've tried sticking to it a few times over the last couple of years for minor stretch marks and small scars, and it hasn't done anything. I also find that it isn't that pleasant to use - I'm not a huge fan of the scent and it can get quite greasy. I wish this worked for me, but past experience would unfortunately indicate otherwise

I have given bio oil multiple chances but have never seen results of improving scars over long term use. This product is overpriced in many stores but can be found reasonably priced at places like The Warehouse. Scent is subtle so you can use it and it won't leave you or your clothes smelling like chemicals.

I was recommended Bio Oil by a friend in the early stages of my first pregnancy to help with reducing the chance of stretch marks. I applied as directed everyday and for about a year after pregnancy. I don't believe this product made much difference at all. I have quite noticeable stretch marks and now I have stop using bio oil have not noticed not much difference to skin appearance whilst using. The product has a nice scent.
