Dove Beauty Bar Review

Who doesn't love the feeling of soft hydrated skin? This is a great all-round family soap. I am personally not fan of solid bar soaps and prefer liquid one but this keeps the husbands skin from being too dry, and is great on the kids as well. It acts as a regular soap should... lathers but doesn't over dry, leaves it feeling balanced and not greasy.

Occasionally we shift away from this brand only to come back to it... and now I buy the liquid version for in the shower as well.

Years ago when I first tried it I loved it but I recently bought one again after thinking oh its been a while since I used this.

The feel of it is amazing, its soft, it lathers really nicely and leaves me feeling really clean and smooth. BUT I didnt like the scent at all, it reminded me of baby powder and stuffiness, I could bear it but I wouldnt reach for it again, that combined with price for 2 soaps has put me off. Unfortunate because Dove is usually a trusted brand I like.

This soap is awesome I use it on every part of my body INCLUDDING my face, I know people say using soap on your face is a big NO NO Because its harsh and drys out your skin which is correct but I have a combination skin type between oily and dry although this product is still harsh on my skin like any soap its also gentle at the same time, it thoroughly cleanses my skin removing dirt and assisting with black head removal but it gives the skin some moisture at the same time. I either breakout with facial cleansers or they don't do anything for me but Id definitely say this is a go to for me. It works, its great and Its a go to when all else is failing for me.

Cannot live without this soap, it is the only solid soap that doesnt affect my eczema and can replace a body wash as it does not strip the skin of moisture. I use it often on my face as its that gentle.

I love that its readily availble and cost effect6ive. Both major supermarkets stock it even The Warehouse. I am not a huge fan of the fragrences but it is soap not a fine fragrance. I do find the bar of soap is used up at least 2x faster than regular soap. You need to try this!

I usually use body wash, but often use this soap when shaving and also as a hand soap. It's 1/4 moisturiser so leaves your skin feeling soft and doesn't dry it out, which I often find with other soaps. It has a nice subtle scent and is suitable for the whole family, males and females.

A lovely creamy soap, that doesn't dry out the skin. This is a soap suitable for the whole family, it smells nice and mild, lathers nicely and leaves the skin refreshed and clean.

I normally use body wash or liquid hand soap but sometimes I feel like that doesn't quite cut it when getting all the dirt and grime off my hands from being in the garden.

I like how when I use this soap it leaves my skin feeling moisturised and silky soft if also doesn't feel like it sucked all the moisture out of my skin. This is definatly a must have

I got given this as a freebie in with my online grocery order so I was pleasantly surprised to receive this as opposed to the usual random items you receive that you will probably never use .

Packaging wise this was nothing special just a cardboard style box in the standard Dove blue and white.

Fragrance – I actually really love the smell of this soap, it’s a really fresh clean moisturising type smell I normally enjoy fragrance free but this is the kind of smell that makes you feel clean and fresh after using it.

I generally use my shampoo bar as my body bar as well so I like a really gentle non irritating soap for my sensitive skin.

This felt lovely on my skin, it didn’t dry it out , lathered up nicely and left my skin feeling nice and clean and smooth afterwards.

This caused no irritations or problems for me and I will continue to use this.

I probably wouldn’t change from using my solid shampoo bar to this as its more convenient for me to do so but if you’re looking for a gentle alternative to body wash I would recommend it 

Dove Beauty bars feel like they have been around forever. My current one is a smaller-than-normal size as it was a freebie, but I have used the full size before (and the smaller one is still generous).

Dove Beauty Bars come in a white and blue box that has practically become iconic. I dare say everyone has seen it, most people have bought it, and most homes probably have had (or still have) one knocking about in the bathroom cupboard. They are inexpensive and - when compared to standard supermarket soap - far superior to most brands.

The soap cake is an elegant, curved shape, in a soft white, embossed with the Dove logo.

The soap lathers slightly, but cleans as well as any other soap on the market.

Where this soap comes into it's own is with how your hands (or body if you're that way inclined; I'm not) feel post-use. Dove claim that 1/4 of this product is moisturising lotion - and I quite believe it. I only use this for my hands, and they are left soft, hydrated, and without the tight, dry feeling standard soap can often cause, even though I have normal, non sensitive skin on my hands (apart from occasional eczema/dermatitis flareups, which this soothes nicely).

After you dry your hands there is no need to apply a lotion, which is a nice time/money saver. Your hands are left scented with the classic Dove fragrance. This is where this product lost points for me as I'm not a huge fan of the fragrance. It would be amazing if they made the range with the same scents as their lovely body washes. I find the soap to be quite strongly scented and it's not my favourite (although I don't hate it) scent out there, so it usually makes me reach for something with less benefits but a better scent.
