I got a bottle of Nature Box Macadamia Oil Shower Gel in a previous Beauty Vault. The shower gel is packaged in a 385ml dark yellow 25% recycled plastic flip top bottle.
The shower gel has a pleasantly sweet, almost fruity yet slightly nutty smell. The scent is described on their website as being "oriental", with bergamot, macadamia and almond making up the top notes. Tonka, coconut milk and vanilla make up the heart notes, while musky and wood notes form the background.
It lathers up really well on a shower pouf and didn't dry out my skin. The consistency is good, it doesn't run out of the bottle, so it's easy to control how much is coming out, and it stays on the shower pouf without running through your fingers.
I do prefer to decant my shower gels into a pump style bottle (and keep and old shower gel bottle for this purpose), as I find I waste less if I'm able to put x number of pumps onto my shower pouf. It also means that I have the perfect amount of shower gel and don't end up running out of lather halfway through my shower. Or heaven forbid, the opposite, and have too much, which then ends up being wasted down the drain.
Made with 100% cold pressed macadamia oil, known to contain valuable vitamins and an antioxidant, this shower gel cleanses my skin without stripping it or leaving it feeling dry. It's paraben free, contains no artificial colourants, is pH skin neutral and dermatologically tested.
I really enjoyed using this shower gel from Nature Box, and I'm keen to try their Coconut-Oil Shower Gel next - I bet it smells amazing.
I picked up this shower gel ages ago in the beauty vault and forgot about it, was going through my stash of products looking for a shower gel and found this hiding in the back. I love macadamia oil, I use it on the ends of my hair and sometimes on my face and it’s one of my favourite oils for both skin and hair, so I was very happy to be able to use it in the shower as well. I get dry skin in the winter and need to usually use a thicker body butter instead of a lotion, but using this shower gel I could skip body creams altogether, as it’s a very hydrating shower gel, my skin felt really smooth after using it and the tiny bumps on my shoulder disappeared completely, which is a nice surprise! I don’t really care for the scent, it’s very faint, in fact writing this review on my couch I can’t even remember what it smells like much, so rather forgettable. It doesn’t foam up a lot, but I don’t mind it at all, I know it’s not the foam that cleanses and I’m used to non-foamy natural shower gels anyway. I think the price is fair for a brand that’s more natural, don’t think $8 is a lot, a little goes a long way, boyfriend and I have been using it daily for over a week now and not a lot missing from the bottle. But it’s coming from me and I used to get $25 shower gels from lush, so!? :)
Tips: A little goes a long way, so start off with a tiny dollop. :)
