The packaging was very cute and attractive, the scent was very similar to snow fairy shower gel and the candy mountain. Quite sugary and sweet. It made my skin feel quite soft and hydrated as well as leaving me smelling like candyfloss

The famous Snow Fairy scent strikes again! This product is insanely fun to use and the fact that it comes on a stick makes it incredibly easy to re-use. Any Christmas bath is not complete without a splash of this, it is as if you are casting a magic spell over your bath and making it even more heavenly. For me, the scent of Snow Fairy = Christmas. And I am a huuuuge fan of Christmas, so this is the one for me!
Tips: Use in your Christmas baths to make them complete!
First to start off with the good stuff: the scent! Oh my goodness!!! This candy flavour (i.e. snow fairy) is my one of my absolute favourites from Lush. The burst of sweetness that you get as soon as you come within a meter of this scent is to die for it's so good!!
However, I found that the magic wand didn't meet my expectations :( I was super super super excited about it as soon as I heard about its interactive nature along with the delicious flavour. But unfortunately in reality, swishing the whole product in the bath ended up making the whole thing a bit too soft to stay on the stick!
The quality and amount of bubbles also was a little bit of a let down for me. Don't get me wrong, it's still better than nearly all non-Lush bath products I've used before, but compared to say Lush's The Comforter bath bar, the Magic Wand didn't make nearly as much bubbles. And the bubbles that were made disappeared within the first 5 minutes of the bath :(
So I absolutely love the concept and scent, but the reality was not quite as fantastic as expected.
I love this idea of the bubble bar being on a stick and re usable!
This bright pink star coated in silver glitter on a stick is much harder than your normal bubble bar. I feel it's like this so it doesn't just crumble off the stick and you only get 1 use from it instead of several.
Straight away when my daughter and I ran it through the bathe water we noticed the sweet raspberry scent. It's still very snow fairy smelling as well. Then came the 'Mum, Mum, Mum, look! Glitter!' As soon as the star wand touched the water the glitter followed. It washed all off into the water.
I did look at the star after I placed it above the fire place to dry and I couldn't see any more glitter laced through it. I'm unsure If it's mean't to be there or not but if it's not it really should be! It'd be amazing to have a bath full of glitter everytime :)
The bubbles created from this bubble bar/wand are light and fluffy! And there are alot of them.
This is my daughters new fave additive to her baths. Personally I'd use it here and there but definitely a nice one for the little princesses out there xx
After seeing this novel approach to bubble bars in Lush I grabbed a couple as I knew I loved the smell which it was created with..snow fairy!!
These are adorable cut stars which have been stuck onto a Popsicle type stick, dusted with a healthy coating of silver glitter, tied with a silver ribbon...well 1 of mine did the other one was absence but that is nothing to cry over.
The goal of these magic wands is that whilst the water is filling your bath you swish it in the rising water to create a mass of bubbles and scent the water with the snow fairy fragrance. With the magic wand then being put aside for another 2-3 baths. There lies the problem for me I am lazy, and impatient, plus I hate clutter and mess so the idea of swishing the wand then putting it somewhere where the cat/dog hair doesn't effect it (it comes with no container to put it into so you will need to pop it into a seal able bag or cling wrap it), it won't get knocked off, won't look untidy and won't get overlooked so it isn't used but thrown out is a big deal. So I ended up crumbling the wet wand once I swished it around under the running tap to use it all in one go.
Swishing alone gave a lot of bubbles and turned the water into a soft pink shade with a lot of silver glitter falling into it which was pretty and can see the attraction this would be to mothers trying to get their daughters into the bath of their own free will...have nieces I totally understand that drama! However crumbling the whole star under the tap made a mountain of frothy foaming bubbles and the water turned milky pink with glitter clouds suspended among it...so pretty and smelling so sweet like candy floss.
So I wouldn't buy these again as it is a waste of money when the Candy Mountain bubble bar does the same thing for me, for those who can tolerate it as a multi use product you will love it.
Snow fairy, that sweet, sugary, candy shop scent. If you have a sweet tooth like me then you will love this bubble wand. Especially if you have the smaller lush enthusiasts in your house too.
As Christmas was approaching I decided I needed a few of these as I could see they would be great for the mini me's and I was right they were a hit. My 2 girls are obsessed with mummy's lush and bath bombs, so to give them one each was a huge thing for them thinking they were so special having their "own" lush. And to have a "fairy wand" made it all the more special.
The bright pink star shaped bubble bar sat perfectly at the top of a big skewer, topped off with a silver bow and a bell and loads of silver shimmer.
Whilst running the bath you can either swirl it around in the water or holding it gently under the running water, which is the way we did it to get loads of bubbles. I was surprised at how many bubbles can be made and how much scent goes into the water from just a few seconds of use.
The water barely changes colour but the scent is quite snow fairy strong. The scent lingers on the skin for a long time afterwards too which I love. I used this with the Father Christmas bath bomb and made it an extra sweet bath.
I love the concept of the wand as you get approximately 10-12 baths per wand which is super value for money. Each time it was used we sat it upright to dry and the scent filled the bedroom. It was a sad day when the last of it was used. I will be stock piling these next Christmas for sure.
I'm a massive fan of the snow fairy scent, and stock up on it every year, so I was very excited to purchase the Magic Wand. It smells so girly and delicious - vanilla and bubble gum are the two scents I pick up on. So far I've used mine to add bubbles to two baths, and it has hardly shrunk (therefore very economical :-))
I also like to use it also with other lush bath products, as not all are bubbly, this adds the missing piece. Will definitely be stocking up on this if it comes back in stock.
When I saw this as past of Lush's mid winter christmas range, I brought one in a heart beat. But it wasn't untill a week or two ago that I started using it and I am kicking myself for not using this product sooner.
This magic wand is pretty much a bubble bar on a stick, but it looks way better than it sounds. The bubble bar is bright pink, and comes in a star shape with a generous helping of shimmer coating the outer layer. It has the beautiful, sweet candy smell of snow fairy too which is the real reason I wanted to try this because I love that snow fairy smell.
You use this by running bath water and holding the wand underneath it or swirling the wand around in the water. Both techniques work to create lots of candy scented bubbles swell as tinting the water pink.
I have a few small issues with this product. The first is the wand itself. Its a wood stick, but the stick is so tiny and slightly bends under the weight of the bubblebar so I am forever scared it is going to snap. Also, once the bubble bar has been used, I put it in a nice place to dry out (so it doesn't get soggy and go to waste), but it take 2 or more days to dry which is a bit of a hassle having to wait before packing it away again. Both small things, but these aspects do take away from the product.
Overall though, I do like this product and would repurchase.
I bought a few of these as gifts for Christmas for the young girls in my life, my daughter fell in love with it instantly! Sparkly pink star wand with a bell and silver ribbon, it smells exactly like Rockstars sweet vanilla-ry goodness but with glorious bubbles filling the tub with very little effort. The Lustre was a hit the first time but wished it had stayed around a bit longer (note to self and others you can break a point off and use that to preserve the shimmer effect if you wish). The water turns a bright pink hue and the scents is lingering.
It lasts a few baths and when you leave it to dry make sure you can remove it easily.
I did find this a bit drying on the skin, nothing a good dab of moisturiser doesn't fix though. The wand stick is like a very thin ice-block stick (narrow and thin) and it can snap easily (one had even snapped off in transit... I had to keep that one instead of gifting it and buy another, also the ribbons and bells were missing off a couple that were i the music boxes).
My little girl and her best friend used this in the bath last night and had so much fun with it.
It is a pretty decent size and you probably could get 2 uses out of it but both girls got a piece so this was a one time use situation lol.
Firstly they swirled it round in the bath to try and get some bubbles but for some reason it didn't seem to do much. So then they broke it in half and crumbled it. They found it pretty hard to work with. It was like trying to work with play dough that was starting to go hard and were then trying to soften again. Not sure if that was supposed to happen.
The smell was super yummy though, smelt a bit like Snow Fairy or a candy type scent to it which the girls really loved. It didn't seem to produce many bubbles if any at all. So bath bombs to the rescue for that.
It was quite moisturising though once it had been crumbled into the bath and the main thing is that it didn't irritate and the girls had lots of fun which was the main thing. I gave it 4 stars because of the lack of bubbles and not too easy for the girls to work with.
