I am a fan of essential oils, they can help you to unwind and relax, and this body oil is just gorgeous in the bath. It loves my skin and leaves it feeling nourished and smooth. You only need a few drops in the bath at a time (like other reviewers have said here) as it is very fragrant, but just a few drops in the bath gives it a lovely rose smell and makes your bath feel and smell heavenly. I would repurchase as it works well on my skin and also helps me to relax and unwind after a hard day.

Tips: You only need a few drops in the bath at a time, no need to overdo it. A little goes a long way with this body oil! Divine on the skin and smells lovely if used sparingly.
Scullys has been around for a while now and has a great reputation for quality products.
This oil comes in a 300ml bottle. It is a clear bottle so you can always see how much you have left. You can use this in a shower or bath. In the shower I pour a few drops onto my shower puff and rub it into my body. In the bath you can pop a few drops into you bath. I would take care as it is an oil and if you use too much, you could slip .
The oil itself is a beautiful blend almond, rose and sandlewood which combined leaves you ddifting away to your favourite place.
You will come out of your shower or bath feeling soft and smelling beautiful .
I scored this baby in a beauty vault a few months back and really enjoyed using it over the winter months when baths were a regular thing for me.
I add 3-4 squirts of the lovely oil to bath as I am filling it with water and it gives off a beautiful rose fragrance straight away! The oil feels really nice on the skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth.
Tips: This is a lovely treat and would make an awesome present.
I travel from the Waikato to Wellington at least a couple of times a year and always stop in Bulls just to visit the Scully's shop and recently purchased this little beauty. I do like their rose scented products as I find it not too full on and just the right level of floral. This product has truly simple and yet good quality ingredients and I also love the fact that this is a homegrown product. At approximately $25 per bottle it is an affordable luxury and is a little bit decadent. As a massage oil it absorbs really well and as a bath oil is just heavenly. Lie back and inhale. Guaranteed to relax and rejuvenate.
Tips: For an extra dose of luxury add either a handful of epsom salts or himalayan salt or even the Scully's rose scented bath salts.
Packaging is a nice burgundy box the oil itself comes in a nice clear plastic bottle with a pump top, looks nice sitting in the bathroom. This oil is a light Amber in colour and has a very heavy rose fragrance, quite strong when applied directly onto dry skin, it doesn't take to long to soak in, it takes several pumps to do my whole body, this is a nice body oil but as I have dry skin I like to go over top of the oil with a moisturiser, and oil first does make a moisturiser easier to smear around and with doing that it does mute the heavy rose scent and that's a bonus as it's a little over bearing. So straight out of the shower and several squirts of this oil and a little rub my skin greedily sucks this fragrant oil up. I'm left moisturised not greasy and smelling of roses. As a bath oil a couple of squirts and I'm in a bed of watery roses most divine, I end up leaving the bath with really nice soft skin and just a hint of rose scent. This is a nice oil to use for a little bit of moisturising, very fragrant and heavy in scent. I do like soaking my feet in a bucket of hot water with some of this oil mixed in, my tootsies come up soft and smelling like roses. Not to sure if I would repurchase only because the fragrance is quite strong.
OK I know I say how I am not a lover of roses and those floral scents but honestly this rose bath oil is an exception. I have only recently been turned onto oils being used as a shower or bath cleanser, but have found them to be amazing! that I wouldn't want to go back to any other form.
I received this oil from the last Beauty Vault, despite a parcel malfunction resulting in about a 2/3rd of the bottle being lost within the courier bag, my darling husband managed to scoop up enough to allow me to test this oil out. The remaining 3rd was more than enough for at least 2 weeks of showers and a couple of baths.
In the shower, I just pour a little into my hands, hit it with water that makes the oil take on a cloudy appearance and slightly lather as I run it over my skin. It leaves the skin supply as you are essentially moisturising with oil as you cleanse, the fragrance of musky roses lingers in the shower steam and on your body long after you have finished.
In the bath I simply pour a few drops into a drawn warm bath and rest as the oil mixes with the water and infuses itself over my skin leaving it soft and supple, with the aroma feeling the air.
I am definitely thinking about repurchasing this when my current oil has run out, I'm sure they do a lavender one too! ooohhh that would be nice to try next.
I have mixed feelings about this bath and body oil, as a bath product I like it a lot. As a body oil applied directly to the skin, not so much.
The oil has a distinct rose fragrance (surpise, surprise), which I find to be quite old fashioned, comforting to soak in, in the tub, but I don't really enjoy it emitting from my skin.. In that way it's what I consider to be a grannyish smell.
The bottle is a nice clear plastic simple design, but the pump spout isn't very practical as it's quite small I find it a bit awkward to use and some of the oil usually ends up dribbling down the side of the bottle. When I had the bottle sitting on my dresser to use directly on dry skin it ended up slicked all over the place and getting on other things around it, not so much of an issue now that I leave it in the bathroom.
I find it's a great bath product for keeping my skin hydrated through winter and bringing a touch of luxury to the tub. My skin is well hydrated after stepping out of the tub dosed with several pumps of this oil, no need to moisturise afterwards.
I do like how it feels applied to dry skin also, making it feel smooth, silky, moist and it doesn't take TOO long to soak in, but the smell is too much for me that way. Also as an all-over body moisturiser applied to dry skin, I just don't feel that it's enriched ith enough beneficial ingredients for the skin to bother. (Compared to the ususal products I use.)
I enjoy this product for something different and it might make a nice gift, but it's not something I would repurchase for myself.
I came across this delicious oil in the Beauty Vault and had to have it as I love the smell of rose in perfumes and creams. The bottle is a clear thin plastic which doesn't look or feel very strong, with a pump dispenser. I've used the oil after showering and as an addition in a bath. Once applied to my skin it is easily absorbed, leaving my skin smooth and soft with little to no oil residue. My skin smells like rose for a good 24 hours after using the oil. Bonus! When I used the oil in a bubble bath the fragrances really came to life in my bathroom, which was quite a treat. The oil really nourished my skin and I didn't need any moisturiser after my bath. I believe this oil is decent value for money as a little tend s to go a fair way and I would definitely buy this oil again.
Tips: Try using some in a bath for moisturised skin
This came in quite a large clear plastic bottle with a pump top that turns to the side to lock and unlock – yet another wonderful gem I picked up in the beauty vault. I picked this up because with each passing week with my ever expanding baby belly I’ve been right into applying as much oil/moisture as I can in the hope of avoiding stretch marks !. I have quite sensitive skin but its used to using a lot of oils. I am generally a fragrance free type of gal - im not much into smells in my skincare goodies and unfortunately this is one aspect I really disliked in this product. Its quite a strong rose/sandalwoody type smell reminds of me something my nana might have used. However I pushed past this !. This was a very light oil not too heavy and absorbed really easily into my skin. I applied this straight out from the shower (towel dried myself first of course) and just applied this straight onto my skin. It applied easily absorbed fast and didn’t leave any residue behind so I didn’t have to wait around to get dressed which was a bonus. I have been using this every morning when I get out of the shower since receiving it and so far so good. No irritations, no breakouts just soft, smooth hydrated skin. You don’t need to use a lot with this type of oil a little goes a long way so it will last you a long time. I would buy this again even though im not a fan of the fragrance.
This is lovely . All the rose items from scullys are fantastic. Smell of real roses all day after a bath . No fake fragrance . Just so nice. It doesn't last long unfortunately.
