So I was lucky enough to obtain this product in the last beauty vault. When it arrived and it was so small I thought wow, that’s not a lot of product for the price, and to be fair, I was prepared to be a little scathing about it.
The packaging is a quirky, soft, pack in a pretty teal with a picture of a Pacifica lady, giving it an earthy organic feel. The lid unscrews and voila! - a delicious aroma (presumably papaya) greets the senses.
The product is a cream that glides silkily onto the skin. Now I really love thick creams for cleansing and moisturising, so this really suits me. It doesn’t require much product to get a great result.
After rinsing, my skin looks and feels very fresh and clean and feels quite soft.
The product claim states it will moisturise the skin with lingering & exotic fragrance of the pacific, lavishing the skin with Vitamin E, Virgin coconut oil, Almond oil, Frangipani oil. It certainly has an exotic pacific fragrance, and the silky feel is most likely due to the lovely oils it contains.
So all in all it is a lovely product, and I would happily recommend trying it to my others. I’m very tempted to comment about the price but the quality of the product is actually preventing me from doing so, as I feel I would be unfair to the product if I were to do so. It is $33, but I guess each user would have to decide if it is worth it. Actually, I’d say it is.
I chose this product from the beauty vault last year because it looked so luscious and the packaging - a foil squeeze packet more commonly associated with kids yoghurt - was so darn cute.
When I first received it, my first thought was 'gosh, that's small!' I was glad I hadn't purchased it because I would have been rather upset at how little I was getting for my money (50ml). My second thought was 'is this for my body or my face?' I made a decision that it was for my face based on the price!
I saved it for a little while, prolonging that delicious moment of opening a new product, but last week I opened it while travelling (the foil packet makes it a perfect travel product). The first couple of times I used it I didn't notice anything particular, but after almost a week of use I realised my face was stinging slightly when I applied it and even after I washed it off my skin felt dry and sensitised. The product is described as 'mild, non stripping, normal, dry & mature skin', so I didn't except my combination (but prone to oily) skin to react like that to a cream cleanser. To add insult to injury, I've now got spots coming up on my chin where the product didn't work as well as my regular cleansers.
This was very disappointing, though it made me really really glad I got it from the Beauty Vault instead of purchasing. I will be passing this one on to someone with less sensitive skin than mine!
Tips: This packaging is perfect for travel, but have a Plan B if you have sensitive skin.
