I am a HUGE fan of all things Lush, so I was very excited to try out Godmother. Candy goodness just soaks into your body with this soap, it makes a good lather and I love having the pop of colour in the shower to make me smile. The scent isn't as strong as it's Snow Fairy shower gel counterpart, but then again that's not necessarily a bad thing if you don't want to be knocked over by the wave of cotton candy up your nose (though I have to say I love that wave right before bed).

Tips: It's a great gift for any candy lover
First of all I LOVE , LOOOVE the scent ,it smells incredible, and a bar of this always manages to fall into my basket when Im at Lush but with saying that it feels like every time I take a bar home and place it into the shower, its like "POOF" the bar is gone. It disappears into fairy land and never returns.
This is the sister to Snow fairy but in a soap form. The scent of bubblegum kisses and candy floss is one you would never get sick of smelling, the sweet fragrance stays on your skin even after you exit the shower and makes a great perfume for your clothing. I have a bar of The godmother in among my scarves and hats that gives them a sweet delicious scent.
The dark pink soap creates a gentle delicious lather and it glides along your skin like butter, it melts just like butter too. After each use it needs to be kept in a dry place to prevent it from creating a slimy mess.
As much as I love this soap (scent most especially) I dont like how quickly it melts as soon as it touches the water. It would be something I would like Lush to change but it wont stop me from repurchasing. I do prefer its bigger sister because I get more use out of it.
Tips: Keep it in a dry place after each use. I like to keep a piece in with my scarves, it leaves a nice sweet scent.
I've always been against using soaps but after receiving a bar of The Godmother in a gift pack it was a new addiction activating, now I only want Lush soaps while I shower and have a box full to ensure I don't run out.
The godmother comes as a freshly cut chunk off of a huge cake of soap, in an intense shade of pink this soap has a gel look to it like glycerine soaps where you can just about see through it and as the hot water warms it, it yields to your touch giving that gel texture which creates a great foaming suds action as you wash yourself.
Having this texture it manages to glide over your wet skin without friction and the fragrance once wet is just as intense as it is in soild dry state, a fave if you love sweet lollies scents, I actually prefer this over the snow fairy shower gel which started me develop a reaction to it after so many uses of it. The scent lingers long afterwards in the shower, as well as on your skin which my hubby loves! Room fragrance and skin cleaner all in one.
Haven't had any problems of the bar self destructing in the shower cubicle where it lives just sat on a wire rack out of running water area. A 100g bar lasts me on average a fortnight, however just lately I have discovered my husband preferring my Lush soaps over his normal manly protex bars which means I can buy more so no complaining here.
I bought this soap last year in a two pack with rockstar. I'd never actually heard of this soap but when I found out it smelled like snow fairy, I couldn't wait to give it a try.
This is a pretty light pink colour and mine is just in a rectangular shape. I adore the bright, candy scent of snow fairy shower gel but this is a very mild version of that scent to me. With most lush soaps that I've tried so far, when they sit in my bathroom, even without being used, the bathroom smells so good. I don't notice that at all with this. I don't even really get much fragrance on my hands straight after I've used it!
It does lather well, and it also does leave my hands clean without over drying them. I know that because this is a lush soap, that it will be full of good ingredients but this isn't something I would buy again. Actually, I don't think I could even if I wanted to as lush is discontinuing this one.
My Mum got me some of this soap and for so long it sat in my basket of lush, untill a friend of mine gave me a sweet grilling and said "You need to use your lush".
Out came this soap and into the soap dish next to the bathroom sink it went. Man, oh man! it was wasted just sitting in my basket lol.
This soap did not last long. I'm weird, I have 2 pump soaps, a plain bar of soap and now a lush bar of soap next to my bathroom sink. I like selection. It was pretty quick to tell that the Godmother soap was the faverourite out of the bunch. I watched the bar grow smaller and smaller by the day.
Godmother is infact a version of the snow fairy scent, bubble gum and candy floss but i found it alot more sweeter. The colour is a deep dark pink.
We didn't use this as an all over body soap, more a hand wash soap so everyone could enjoy it. I love the fact when you wash your hands with this you dont end up with that leather dry feeling you can get with some of the supermarket brand soaps. This leaves your hands feeling soft and moisturised. And smelling amazing, so good infact I could of almost eaten my hands!
I heard a rumor that this was being discontinued, wahhhhhh. If this is true....saviour your soap. Enjoy it while it lasts and if you can get your hands on it, BUY IT!
Ours is all gone now but we all enjoyed it in this household, it was definetly a fave!
I have very sensitive skin, but normally my hands can handle almost anything. Apparently they couldn't handle this soap. I ended up with eczema reactions on my hands when I used it which I've never had before. So I gave it to my partner. Then I had to get him to wash his hands with another soap after using it because I was getting red reactions where he was touching my skin after using. Also I hate the smell - it makes me feel vaguely headachey. From the looks of the other reviews many people love this soap, but for me it was just awful.
I LOVE this soap! It's my absolute favourite and smells delicious on a indescribable level. I love the Lush soaps in general as they don't dry my skin out and all smell great, plus they make great gifts for anyone.
Tips: I always make sure I keep all my lush soaps on a draining soap holder so they can dry off after I use them in the shower, just leaving them sitting in a wet area of the shower or side of the bath makes them soggy and they end up not lasting as long as with any soaps, and they are far to precious to waste!
This dark pink soap is a favorite with my girls. The sweet scent mixed with the shower steam makes the whole bathroom smell like a lolly shop. My youngest gets contact dermatitis from literally everything but this one is fine. I find this, like most LUSH soaps, goes into a soggy mess quickly. I buy 100-130g size blocks and the shop assistant told me it should last 2-3 weeks- erm no, 100g=10 days...ish. Not that I'm complaining- the scent is SO delicious that it's worth every cent.
Tips: I personally still prefer the snow fairy shower gel over the godmother soap- because of the less mess, no soggyness factor.
It smells like jelly tip, it lathers nice and leaves my skin feeling clean and sweet, but I only purchase it on their annual 50%off boxing day sale. it reminds me of jam, and it smells really sweet my nephew loves it, i wish they made candles scented like their soaps. This soap last me 20+ washes a little bit goes a long way as it lathers really well. I find it leaves my skin with a really clean feeling, the scent doesnt last long on me though. This is not the creamiest of soaps, as i think its geared towards being a hand soap but with this scent I use it all over the body, I think that is why it last ages because its not very creamy.
Well, with this soap actually you can! This soap, which LUSH no longer make, shares it's scent with the ever popular shower gel Snow Fairy, Fairy Dust and the Bubblegum Lip Scrub!
I have two blocks of this soap, as I "stocked up" when I knew LUSH were canning it. I was surprised, it's such a popular smell at Christmas but I guess year round nobody really cares. Both of my blocks are a deep dark red but from my understanding that's just the outer layer, and it is actually supposed to ombre into a lighter more opaque pink towards the middle.
The smell is amazing. If you know what Snow Fairy smells like you'll know what I mean - if not... Imagine freshly spun fairy floss, mixed with a sweet pear hard candy. The pear is quite subtle, the sugary fairy floss being the dominant smell.
Like most LUSH soaps I'm disappointed in how this lathers, but the smell it leaves on my hands is delightful. And writing this review has reminded me that I need to put a new soap in the bathroom, so, I'm guessing this is my pick :D
Tips: If you are desperate to get your hands on some, keep an eye on the LUSH Kitchen - they make exclusive products, old and new, in small batches :-)
