one year for christmas i decided to buy myself a l'occitane advent calendar. i knew nothing of the brand, only that they were expensive and i knew at one point in my lifetime that i wanted to try their products. luckily, the calendar was on special, taking it from some ridiculous price and making it more "affordable" - i think it was roughly $100 when i bought it, a much nicer price to pay than the $190 it was marked as.
the small sample i got of this was in a squeezy bottle, which was annoying as i had to leave it stored upside down to be able to get anything out. its a white cream, and not as thick as i was expecting, but man was it richly hydrating.
the smell was a bit off putting, but i found i didnt really like the smell of any of the l'occitane products - they were all a bit nannery. like a normal smell hit with a bit of talc or something which ended up overpowering my senses. i didn't hate it but i wasn't a fan.
my skin felt hydrated and smooth and soft all through to the next day, which is something i'd expect from a product that costs so much. i feel like there are less expensive products out there, that smell much better, that do just a good a job. so while i was excited to try it, the smell and price just have it sitting above a 'meh' in my list.
I received a trial size with a purchase and was so surprised!! I suffer from eczema on my elbows and this really helped with the dry skin and clearing it up
Tips: Applying in the mornings and prior to bed. Usually lasts the entire day
