Spicy rose jam!

This was a birthday present from my brother and sister in law last year. Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel is one of their limited edition products, that they re-issue every so often (at Xmas, I believe!)

The gel comes in the standard Lush clear-with-a-black-cap bottle, and as always the caps on these are recyclable. I personally re-use the smaller sized bottles for gym/travel etc shower gel bottles as they are the perfect size.

Rose Jam is a gorgeous berry coloured shower gel. It's quite thick for a shower gel, but because of that is fairly luxurious in feel. This shower gel cleans and scents your skin, leaving it soft and feeling pampered. Lush do shower gel incredibly well, and it says a lot that you can also use it on your hair- clearly these are not products based around harsh soaps and chemicals.

The scent is a spicy, smokey rose. While is is quite an intense scent, much of the intensity washes away with the product leaving a faint aroma. For me, I smell the 'smokey' scent a bit more, which is the thing that stops me giving this the high grade I usually award to Lush.

I would probably not purchase this again but would use it if given it. It's by no means my favourite Lush Shower Gel. It's okay but I prefer their Snow Fairy, Prince Charming, and Happy Hippy.

Kissed by a Rose

Rose Jam is my absolute favourite Lush product AND favourite shower gel of all time! A limited edition product available at Christmas time I picked my first bottle up in Lush's Boxing Day sale for 50% off as a 100ml bottle, then quickly returned to snap up both a 250ml for myself and another 100ml as a gift for a friend as I loved it so much.

The packaging is the standard simplistic Lush clear bottle with printed label marked with use by date (yes it does expire!). Luckily it has quite a long shelf-life so I wouldn't say you need to worry about it expiring on you, I've used Lush's products past use by before perfectly fine.

The first thing I noticed about Rose Jam was it's lovely berry-red colour, but it was the smell of the thick gel that really won my heart. Rose Jam smells simply HEAVENLY! I'm a huge lover of rosewater, both the scent and the taste and this reminds me so much of it, like liquid turkish delight bottled to perfection.

This is the product I'd go all Gollum "my precioussss" over, complete with wincing when I've caught my partner using it and gentle nudges of other gels. On days when I can't be bothered with a bath but I want a bubble bath but I want a shower with a little extra, Rose Jam is what I reach for as a pick-me-up. I've just used the last of mine and I'll be stocking up when it's next on sale.

Tips: If the full price is a little out of your reach, keep an eye out for Boxing Day sales.

Turkish Delight Goodness

If you are a fan of Lush, or have heard about Lush, chances are you have heard about Lush's seasonal range, which includes the Rose Jam Shower Gel. It is limited edition is the fact that it is only released around Christmas time.

This was something i had heard about long before i made a Lush purchase, so ofcourse when i became a self aclaimed lush addict, this was an item i had to buy (and luckily for me it was xmas time, so it was in stock).

Okay, so the smell of this is ah-mazing. It smells like Turkish delight, and honestly looks like it too because of its beautiful purpely-pink colour. It has a thick texture, similar to other body gel in the lush range but that means i find a little bottle lasts a long time because you can squeeze out a litle bit, which seems to be the right amount for creating a great lather which smells awesome, and which is a smell that actually lingers on my skin after the shower.

The packaging of this bottle? Well its the same as all the other packaging from lush. It comes in a see through bottle with a black cap, and a black sticker which has all the product info on it. Simple, but it stays true to how Lush package all their products.

As a shower gel, it lathers nicely, creates an amazing aroma in the shower. Seriously, it just smells so good its hard to stop yourself from using the whole bottle just to enjoy that smell for as long as possible. It also seems to do a great job at cleaning my skin, without stripping it or drying it out.

This product is lovely, but i have to say i find it hard to fork out $12 for a small bottle of this. However, if you can snap it up in the boxing day sales, you'll be crazy not too!

Favourite (Maybe Second)

I am so glad this is now up on BR so I can sing its praises. This is one of my very favourite shower gels ever! (Second only to Original Source Lavender and Tea Tree). I know this only comes out twice a year but I always have a spare in my cupboard so I know I won't run out.

The packaging is the usual clear container (great for seeing how much is left), with the black lid. The gel is a dark red shade which is very pretty.

Now I'm not a fan of Turkish Delight, but I love this. The rose smell is seriously intense. You are going to have to love the florally rose scent to like this product... Luckily I do! It works very well as a shower gel, it lathers up well and leaves the skin feeling very soft, but not extra moisturised. It doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped at all which is good. Sometimes I find with Lush soaps they can be quite drying. When you wash this off it does leave a faint scent, but nothing really noticeable later on in the day.

I will continue to stock up on this product whenever I can. I love the scent and try to keep a spare in my bathroom cupboard so I know I can have it when I want. They better not discontinue this one!!!

Smells like heaven

I've been wanting to try this for ages so finally in their boxing day sale I decided to pick this up (plus got one for Christmas) and I'm so glad I did! Lets start with the smell. It is seriously amazing like actual heaven on Earth. It has the same scent as Ro's Argan Body Conditioner, Rose Jam Bubbleroon and Jason and the Argan Oil shampoo bar, so if you are unsure go and have a sniff of those products. The packaging is your usual lush packaging which I really like. I have the 250g bottle which I've been using everyday for months now and still have over half the bottle left so it's amazing value! The product itself is like a deep purple colour.

This makes my skin smell amazing and it lasts really well throughout the day which usually doesn't happen with most other body washes. It doesn't dry my skin out but doesn't add any extra moisture either. I only wish that this product was more natural like the other lush body washes.

I will 100% be repurchasing this, you just can't pass up something smelling as good as this! Plus if you get it in the boxing day sale it's amazing value! You won't be disapointed if you get this, it's so worth it. This isn't my favourite lush body wash but it is up there.

A new favourite?

I had read the raving reviews about rose jam from the BR babes and although I'm not really a huge rose scented fan I still had to buy it, so when the Lush mid winter limited editions came up it was one of the first that went into the shopping cart.

I'm not a fan of the Ro's Argan body conditioner I find it too rosey and overpowering so I was skeptical about this one until I opened it for the first time and WOW it is gorgeous, yes it is rose but it is sweet and heavenly.

I love the rich deep berry colour of this shower gel it is beautiful, the shower gel is thick and although it is a gel it feels so creamy. It lathers up quite a lot compared to some lush shower gels, it feels so silky and rich on your skin it really is in a league of its own.

My skin feels so soft after using this shower gel and the scent lingers for an hour or so. Like I mentioned I'm not a huge florally, rose fan but this really is something very special, it's a very soft sweet rose that I really enjoy. I will be stocking up on this one the next time it is released around Christmas. It is such a beautiful shower gel that makes me feel so girly every time I use it.

Just Rosey

I am a lover of most things sweet as long as it's not overpowering or sickly. I am a huge fan of Ro Argan Body Conditioner so because of this I had to have the shower gel that is based on that. Usually I am not a fan of rose scents but this one has me obsessed! I bought the 250g bottle for $20.90 but am now wishing I bought the 500g bottle because I love it that much. Now $20.90 sounds like an absolutely ridiculous amount to pay for a shower gel surely?! It is but this smell has me possessed so I keep coming back for more.

This bottle is the basic Lush shower gel bottle with plain jane lettering to tell you all you need to know and nothing more. I am not paying for extra pretty packaging or pictures just the pure fact that it works and it's natural and cruelty free. It has a flip top lid which with wet hands can be hard to open.

I love the little who made it sticker on the bottle. It shows personal touches and care has been taken to make this product. It's nice to see a face behind the scene. It's a dusky rose liquid that smells like sweet roses (if that's a thing?). The smell is intense but pleasant and it takes my mind on a meander through a meadow full of roses and candy. Weird I know but my mind does these things when smelling things this good.

I use this on my loofah so it creates more of a lather and doesn't just get washed down the plug hole. I massage it in to my skin, making my entire body take on that rose and candy filled meadow. Once rinsed off my skin is left feeling so soft and replenished. It is smooth to the touch and feels like it has had its thirst quenched. The instructions make me laugh on this. It says if you don't know how to use it by now you're doing something wrong lol. Humor is the way to my heart along with the smell mmmm.

The price I could do without because it is expensive but for the smell and the fact that I am supporting a business like Lush against animal cruelty I am all in boots and all. I have passed on a sample to a few of my friends and have converted them to the cruelty free side too yussss *does a dancing man in victory*. Try it you won't be disappointed if you are a sweet scent girl.

lol nah I don't think so. I have products pass their use by date and they are still fine and working great. I would hoped they would have listened by now too but nope! I want to get one or two more in the boxing day sale! I just got a 500g bottle

You'd think Lush would listen to the customer on this one, right? I stockpile every Christmas and got a 500ml bottle in the Boxing Day sale which I've only used a third of. It's passed its used by date but I don't think that actually matters lol.

Rose Jam 100g

This was one of the very first lush items i tried! I got given it in a Christmas pack two years ago. I really liked this little bottle of over powering goodness, it is a floral lemony scent. If i was to go in to lush i probably wouldn't have chosen this shower gel, im not normally a huge rose smelling fan but this was actually really nice! i only now realize that its limited edition, that's a shame as im sure so many people would love it. It wasn't a very thick liquid but lathered up quite nice. As i opened the bottle i thought it wouldn't last long as it was quite small but surprising it lasted me around 3 months, as you didn't need to use much! Packaging wise lush tells you everything you need to know, very simple. I love how lush always put a expiry date on there products! they picked a good name for this product, eye catching.I liked this product but even if i could buy it, i don't think i would as i have other scents i prefer more! i would recommended it to anyone who loves a good rose scent!

Smells like... Rose Jam

I purchased this online so the scent was not something I had a preconceived idea of other than by name. First the packaging is the standard Lush plastic bottles with flip tip cap, easy to dispense and the shower gel is the usual consistency I would expect from a shower gel.

The colour is a gorgeous rose pink, there is no shimmery particles in this one (unlike my much loved Snow Fairy) but this one does have a strong rose scent (for obvious reasons) but it is sweet like a jam, so I can smell the reason behind the name. It doesn't lather up much and I don't find it is as good at cleaning as other products... but the scent lingers on the skin and in the bathroom for a while which is nice. I wouldn't normally go for a floral (I know I bought it and it clearly would be floral with Rose in the name) but this is so sweet and it's a very beautiful rose scent. I don't think I would repurchase it though as I am still more fond of snow fairy (I love sweet candy scents) but if I happened to be gifted another I would still be very grateful.

Rose absolute, my absolute favourite!

I love, love, love Lush shower gels. They're not cheap but once you've tried them, there's no turning back. Now whenever I buy a supermarket brand, I instantly regret not buying Lush instead. But my Lush favourites are always limited editions! Why do you do this to my Lush?!? Yes, clever marketing I know but they really should make this one all year round. None of the regular Lush shower gels appeal as much. It's always the limited editions for me.

This one comes out twice a year for Christmas and also the mid year Christmas that Lush celebrates in this part of the world. A friend picked this up for me half price in the Boxing Day sale whilst I was overseas as I've loved it since the first year it came out. At first I wasn't sure about the 500ml size as I tend to get sick of anything before I get through that much of it. So here we are near the end of October and I am less than a third of the way through the bottle. A probably use it a couple of times a week. Far from becoming sick of it, it has become my absolute Lush favourite.

It comes in the usual Lush shower gel packaging: a clear round bottle, black and white label along with a use by sticker telling you who made it, and a black flip top lid. Mine is already passed its one year use by date. This doesn't worry me so much with shower gel. Can shower gel even go off?!?

It is deep pink, almost burgundy in colour. Lush describe this on the label as sweetly floral with Rose and lemon and I think this is very accurate. The lemons stops it from being too sweet. It is not artificial granny rose either. In fact, for me it has been highly addictive and has made me seek out as many rose scented things as possible. Sadly, few of them outside of Lush smell as good as this. Apparently there was a Rose Jam perfume one year (not sure if we got it in NZ but I will be looking out for that one this year)

This is a thinner consistency than some Lush shower gels. I use it with a shower puff and it lathers up well. It leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and smooth. I use it in conjunction with Ro's Argan body conditioner. Thankfully that one is not limited edition as I have gone through several tubs of that! That combo leaves me softly rose scented all day.

I will definitely be stocking up again this Christmas even though I still have plenty left. Or better still.....just do the right thing Lush and make this a permanent range!

Tips: Lush Christmas stock is in store now so stock up whilst you can!

is it less smoky this year than last hon? I found it got to be too smoky the more I used it and lush swear this years isn't as heavily smoky but i haven't scent tested it yet
