This is one of the essential products that we all need and is not designed to do anything but protest and so it does the job well in my opinion. It is a little thick and needs a good rub in if you want to apply your usual makeup on top but is great if you are just working around home on a make up free day. I trust the Cancer society to endorse the best sunscreens and it is one I use often
Tips: slather on if you are working outside make up free and re apply often
I recently tried this sunscreen and I must say I'm a big fan. I love the gel as it's great for putting on over or under your make up and there are no white streaks. It also doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy and oily. I've used this on myself and my three year old daughter, both of us have fair skin and neither of us have gotten burnt so far. It is a bit tricky though with kids as you can't see if you've missed a spot so I'd generally only use it on myself and stick to the kids sunscreen for my daughter.
I'm a repeat purchaser of this sunscreen. The whole family are pale skinned and easily burnt, so this sunscreen is our daily and on hand. The gel means that it glides on the skin easily and is quickly absorbed. You don't get the white residue left behind. The kids like it because it's not greasy - and it smells yummy with its coconut scent. For me, on the face it's a little too 'sticky' but again the kids don't seem to mind this one, and no complaints about it stinging the eyes.
We use a different sunscreen for water sports - so we haven't tested this particular sunscreen in the water! It has water resistance though I believe of up to 4 hours.
Have had no issues with burning, but we use this sunscreen in conjunction with covering up, wearing hats and staying out of the sun when its at its hottest - all the usual sensible sun smart things.
This one is a favourite mostly because the kids prefer it - which makes it a winner for getting them to regularly apply sunscreen. The only slight downside is that being a clear gel it does mean you need to take care that you're applying it all over and not missing spots, but it goes on wet and stays wet long enough to spot any areas missed.
