Tips: Pop it in the fridge!! :)
I first bought this a few years ago because I feel In love with the blue bubbly contents. Now I use it all the time, mainly when I get sunburnt, and it helps so much! It gets rid of the heat on you're skin, (though it might take a few applications to last) and it just feels like thick water when you put it on, plus absolutely no greasy feelings at all! I was also glad to no in had aloe Vera in it as this does wonders to the skin, and it even smells quite nice, it completely rehydrayted my skin (and doesn't cause acne!) and left me feeling refreshed! Highly recommend this product.
I have used this product for years now, and love it. I use it after every day in the sun throughout summer. So nice if you get burnt too.. if its kept in the fridge, the cooling sensation is even more lovely. There is no greasy feeling, but always a bit sticky. Its definitely a must have for every household in the summer months.
Tips: Keep in the fridge for a really cool feeling when applying!!
Recently I ended up with quite bad sunburn on my neck, back and shoulders. As someone who is usually very careful in the sun, I was surprised at how painful it was. I decided to look for some after sun gel or cream at the supermarket, and stumbled across the Cancer Society After Sun Gel. It was very reasonably priced, and the 'Cancer Society' brand was more familiar to me than the others, so I chose this one.
The gel is quite thick, but it is very easily absorbed into the skin and easy to apply. It instantly feels pretty sticky, but as soon as it soaks into your skin, the stickiness disappears. It has a lovely 'cooling' effect - even more so when stored in the fridge.
My skin felt very nourished. This stuff is great. It really relieved the sore, burning-hot, tight feeling. My skin still did peel a little - but not as much as I think it would have if I didn't use it.
This will now be a summer staple in my fridge in case my family or I get caught out again.
Tips: As everyone else has suggested - store this in the fridge
So over the summer I spent way too long in the sun and ended up with rather bad sunburn. So I went in search for a product that would help reduce the pain and make the process of healing the burn faster.
I came across this one, it was a rather reasonable price. It placed a cooling sensation on my sunburn and dried rather quickly, like it claimed on the bottle. I have used other brands and they haven't had the same affect.
The other thing that I found great about this product was that it reduced the amount of damage to my skin. I'm usually prone to peeling after burning and I got minimal peeling of my skin while using this product. Plus, I ended up with a slight tan. Which is rather rare for me as I'm so pale.
I always like products recommended from the Cancer Society as they have so much valuable information re skin damage and are not just trying to sell a product. I like their sunscreen and this Gel is just what is needed after sun when I have been outside as it adds moisture and any thing with Aloe Vera is soothing and healing.I usually have my shower first and then apply the gel over my arms and legs and anywhere which has been exposed to the weather . It is really cooling and in no time at all it absorbs into my skin with out any sticky residue.
Tips: Try not to get burnt first .Use the gel after being outside every time.
We got caught out without after sun cream so got this from a rural supermarket. It works great, not sticky and no horrible residue. Some of my family have sensitive skin and it doesn't react, which is a bonus.
Tips: For extra cooling action pop it in the fridge.
My household has used this product for years for after sun and sunburn. We apply it rather thickly for sunburn, it goes on smoothly and doesn’t absorb to quickly which is great if you are burnt. The cancer society products are the go to in my home. Easily available at supermarkets and reasonably priced.
Tips: Place in fridge to get a cool refreshing gel when applied.
I used it on quite bad sunburn and it relieved the pain and it treated and reduced the sunburn within a couple of days.
Everyone knows how bad it is for your skin to get sunburned or spend too much time out in the harsh rays, but in this beautiful country it is often unavoidable that you will spending a good part of your summer outdoors and accidents can happen. This is where the Cancer Society After Sun Gel comes in.
The product goes on smoothly and works well into the skin so that you can feel it soothing and calming down burnt or sun-irritated skin. Skin feels moisturised and nourished back to health pretty much immediately after using.
Will definitely repurchase and always have a bottle on hand.
Tips: A must have for anybody who spends a lot of time outdoors. Remember not to rely on this and follow sun smart rules of slip, slop, slap and wrap.
