I don’t really see the firming effects from this body moisturiser, and it’s not really amazing so I’m not giving this high scores

A body moisturiser that firms and tones – oh what a lovely idea. Who doesn’t want their thighs and bum to be tighter and more toned? Who doesn’t want their tummy to be firm? As much a I seek these, I can’t imagine a moisturiser being a whole lot of help. I have received the Clarins Firming Body Lotion as part of the GWP a few times now, and I have continued to use it as a standard body lotion in the evenings. I stored these lotions up to use every evening for over a month, to try and get a feel for the firming claim.
The packaging is standard Clarins – red and white with no fanciness. The tube is plastic, with a thin and large plastic lid. For the amount that is paid, it looks cheap. But it is in keeping with the standard Clarins packaging.
The big question. . . does this product firm and tone? No. It does not. And how could it? No moisturiser could magically firm and tone. I imagine that moisturising in general is beneficial, as it stimulates the area, but it wouldn’t matter which brand or product was used. With this product I made the effort to spend longer massaging it into my thighs and bum, but I have not noticed any difference in the firmness and tone of my body.
Firming and toning aside, The Clarins Firming Body Lotion doesn’t perform particularly well as a standard moisturiser. It sits somewhere between a balm/butter and a lotion, making it reasonably runny but still heavy. It doesn’t absorb particularly quickly, the hydration provided is no different to a standard moisturiser and the scent isn’t anything special. Overall, I would not pay full price for this product. If I am looking for a luxury body lotion to spend some extra money on, I will turn to The Body Shop or even Lancome.
Tips: If you want to try this out, you would be better of buying two products with the GWP is around.
