This gel formula for this reminds me a little of the moisture surge range, but it is the same colour as the lotion in this range. The gel is light and feels moisturizing for me, but it is not as good on my combo skin as the lotion. The gel version is designed for people with oily skin, maybe my skin isn't as oily as I thought but it could be due to the clay mask I had done as well since it seems to be fine when I haven't used the mask. I normally prefer wearing this during the day and seems to be ok with layering primer and liquid foundation over the top. The gel texture reminds me of the moisture surge range by Clinique as well but does not deliver the same amount of moisture as that to the skin. I haven't noticed any scent in this and the back does say fragrance free. There is no sunscreen in it so you will need to apply this separately. I guess I expected a bit more from this product for the price.

I have to say if you have oily skin the texture of this gel moisturizer is really good, it absorbs and hydrates immediately. It's good for those days when it's really hot and humid outside and moisturizer geared towards normal skin is just too heavy. I have been using this on hot summer days under my sunscreen and it's been helping to add another layer of hydration without making my skin excessively greasy. Now for the cons, price. For what it is just a plain moisturizer it is pricey. To be fair you do get more product than the average moisturizer but it hard to for me to justify spending that much on a moisturizer when there are other gel moisturizers at a more affordable price point that have a similar texture.
Tips: Wait till there's a really good gwp or discount at one of the stores that sells Clinique to purchase this.
A while ago I was very into the 3 step Clinique system and this moisturiser was my absolute favourite product. I haven't used it recently, because of the price and instead use the Neutrogena Hydroboost water gel as I think the texture is similar. I would love to re-try this to see if it's as good as I remember. I just can't justify the price when there are so many good products at a much more realistic price that I use and love.
I got this as a sample to trial out for 10 days.
I was pretty excited to try this as I had seen alot of advertising for this and thought it would be great.
Unfortunately it didn't seem to work for me. It made my skin break out pretty badly. It felt quite greasy on my skin and didn't sit well under my makeup.
The consistency was quite watery, not gel like as you would expect.
It had a strange chemical like smell which I didn't like either.
Considering how expensive this product is I don't think its worth it.
Tips: Ask to trial it before you pay full price
As Clinique do regularly, I got a delux sized sample of this as a gift with purchase. Being a huge fan of Cliniques moisturisers, I was really looking forward to trying this out and seeing how my dry skin found it.
This came in a plastic tube that is easy to squeeze. The lid is a cap so it is easy to disperse product without accidentally getting too much. The tube itself is cheerful looking as it is yellow and it looks quite cute.
The product itself is very lightweight and quite liquidy. It has a strange scent that I really didn't like but that didn't stay around too long after applying this. As I have used a few of Cliniques other moisturisers, I was expecting the consistency of this to be thicker and was quite shocked by how liquidy this is. A watered down, lightweight formula isn't one I particularly like as I prefer something super hydrating for my dry skin.
Nevertheless I used this as a body moisturiser as opposed to a facial one. My skin didn't drink this in immediately as it does with other moisturisers from this brand. Also, this left a sticky, greasy film on my skin which I really disliked. This could just be my skin not liking the formula but this was really unpleasant.ni used this a handful of times, trying to get myself to like it but in the end I passed it on to my mum.
Overall I definitely wouldn't purchase this. I think this would be suitable to someone who likes a lightweight formula and who potentially doesn't mind a residue being left over. Unfortunately this just didn't mesh with me.
I bought this product as the counter was all out of the lotion I usually use (I'm a Clinique Girl at heart!) and thought it would be just as good. The texture is nice as it goes on, its easy to apply and the look and odour are very similar to the lotion. As the product dried I found that it stretched the skin, similar to a face mask - making it tight, although this only lasted a couple of seconds. Over the course of the day though, I found that the areas on my face that are prone to being greasy, became more greasy than usual, The bottle lasted a good few months, but my skin couldn't adjust to the difference.
I did use the whole bottle, I went back to the lotion afterwards.
Tips: A great alternative to the lotion, however not ideal for combination skin or greasy skin types.
