A little better than the Chocolate & Strawberry

After the disappointment of Dedicated to Nature Strawberry & Chocolate Body Butter, this was another product of Dedicated to Nature's that I wasn't expecting much from. (This was another of the products from my prize pack).

The body butter came in the same 100g round screw top tub as both body scrubs and the Strawberry & Chocolate Body Butter and when I opened it, once again, there was no wonderful aroma of grapefruit and mint, rather a very vague citrus smelling body butter. I wish Dedicated to Nature would just add a little more of their essential oils to their products to make them smell nice!

The consistency of the body butter was thick, creamy and rich with a nice feel upon application. It glided on easily, was absorbed fairly quickly but really didn't feel very moisturising. I thought the whole point of a body butter was to be richer and more moisturising than a body lotion. Maybe I have the wrong idea when it comes to a body butter?

So far, I've found Dedicated to Nature's Body Scrubs and Body Butters to be extremely disappointing. I expected so much from these products and they just didn't deliver, not even one small little thing. There is absolutely nothing that I can compliment them on about these body products, which is sad, as the potential is there, they just haven't gotten it right yet.

Would I purchase or recommend this product? No. I was very disappointed with it and couldn't wait to finish the tub and move onto something better.

Tips: If you do happen to be given a tub of this Body Butter (or have purchased one and aren't happy with the smell but feel bad about throwing it out), try adding a few drops of grapefruit or peppermint essential oil and mix it in well to try and boost the smell.

Hi Charly, I did. I added two drops of peppermint oil to the Grapefruit & Mint Body Butter. I also had their Chocolate & Strawberry Body Butter (which was even more disappointing and had absolutely no scent) and I added lavender oil to that one.

That's a good idea about adding essential oils. Did you do that?

Not moisturising enough for me

I love the idea of this product - organic, ethical, natural products. I really wanted to love it. Sadly, I didn't. The product seemed a little TOO natural. Maybe there is a reason for some of those synthetic ingredients! This body butter was thick and smeared across my skin without seeming to sink in at all. I prefer oil-type moisturisers, so this moisturiser, with a slightly lumpy texture, really wasn't my type. This one was hard to rub in and ten minutes later, my skin didn't feel much better off.

The scent was not as strong as I imagined with a name like 'grapefruit and mint', instead being a quite neutral smell that would never do battle with your perfume!

Tips: If you want to try this brand, check out their travel sets on the website - a great way to try a range of products before you commit to full sizes.
