I love most things Dermalogica and this is a cleanser I keep on coming back to. My skin can be dry and sensitive, so Dermalogica products I trust to be gentle and effective for my skin. I decided to go back to Dermalogica after my skin flared up a little bit after the birth of my son.
The packaging is distinctive of Dermalogica, sleek and so stylish with its white and grey packaging . It looks high end, and suitable for a brand that skin specialists recommend.
The formula is clear and gel like, with a thin consistency. I use it by putting some in my hand and massaging it over my face. I then put water over my face, and massage it over, my makeup easily comes off, including mascara and long wearing makeup.
What I love about this is its super gentle but also so effective at cleansing, my skin feels so clean yet also hydrated. There's no stinging or tight feeling like you can get with other cleansers.
Like other dermalogica products It doesn't have a detectable fragrance, which is perfect as I have dry reactive skin- the simpler the better.
After this cleanser i then follow it with the Dermalogica active moisturiser, which I also love as the moisturiser is fantastic for hydration to my dry skin. After a couple of weeks of use of both the cleanser and moisturiser my kin has calmed down and is so much more hydrated.
I can't recommend Dermalogica products enough for those of you with dry, sensitive skin. Five stars!
I began using this cleanser 6 weeks ago. I visited my local Dermalogica counter as I was sick of having inflamed, red skin that was also oily and prone to breakouts. The beauty therapist recommended this cleanser (along with other Dermalogica products, which I have reviewed or will be reviewing).
I purchased the 20ml travel sized bottle ($20) to ensure that I liked the product before spending a large amount of money on the full-size product. I am about to run out of the 20ml bottle, so a few days ago I purchased the 500ml bottle for $84 (you can also buy a 250ml bottle, but I really do love the results of this product).
Ultracalming cleanser has a soft, gel like consistency that is easily massaged over a damp face (although this product can apparently be used without water if your skin is even too sensitive for water) and simply comes off with a damp face cloth. I do feel as though I need to use more product than I have with previous cleansers, but due to its effectiveness I am happy to go through it faster than other cleansers.
In the past six weeks my redness has extremely reduced, the eczema I was getting along my hairline has disappeared, my pimples are clearing up (also related to other Dermalogica products I am using). My skin is only slightly less oily, but I found the inflammation of my skin more frustrating than its oiliness.
I would highly recommend this cleanser to someone with sensitive skin. I believe that a good, effective cleanser is most definitely worth spending larger sums of money on if it works.
