For some strange reason i like the smell of this, the mini bottles are so handy especially if your out and about, but it doesn't do much if your hands are dirty, it probably kills the germs but it doesn't clean the dirt off your hands, you would need to use the whole mini bottle to get your hands clean.

I was given this when i had my baby as you need to be wary of germs through the NB stage.. I was very disappointed that it left a very strong chemical taste on the hands and it lingered until i washed my hands thoroughly to get it off.
Now i know, some may be thinking WHY are you tasting it?! Well, when you eat or touch your face then lick your lips you can taste it. This is also very bad for me as my New born baby like to suck on my finger and so i stopped using it immediately. NOT child friendly in my opinion!
It smells lovely....sure!
But I do worry about what is in these...we don't wash it off. It stays on our skin.
I also think that a parent constantly using it with children they may want to mimick Mummy or Daddy...
Can it really be that safe?
I was a fan of antibacterial handwash and sanitizers, until my hands got dry from using this to often. On the pros it's cheap, handy, easy to keep in your purse, doesn't feel sticky after you use it. However, my hands are already dry and sensitive and despite the claims that this moisturizes it didn't for me. A good hand sanitizer but just not the one for me and I wouldn't repurchase unless there's nothing better than this on the market.
Tips: Use only a little and if you are prone to dry hands but need to remove all the bacteria, due to sicknesses, etc. then try to rinse it off with water as that helps your hand not dry out as much and follow up with a hand cream or lotion.
I have purchased both the large size bottle and the convenient small size which is perfect for having in your handbag or for travel. Whilst it is great to have this waterless option for sanitising hands which was indeed refreshing and absorbed easily, I found that after using it for awhile my hands and nails became very dry and I had to keep applying more and more moisturiser to counter balance the effects. Eventually I had to stop using the Dettol Healthy Touch Hand Sanitiser Instant Refresh and focus on restoring my hands and nails with moisturiser. I probably won't buy this product again.
i have one in my sons outing bag, just in case for those sticky situations, i find it dries quickly, but leaves a wee stickiness but that soon disapears. i actually like the smell. i dont use it to keep germs away as i believe we/children need the wee germs, so i mainly use things like this when a tap isnt around when ive got sticky hands from lollies/food.not a regular buy for me though
It had a very alcoholic smell to it, which I didn't like. But in a weird whacky way, I used this on my back (acne area) and it cleared up the acne very quicky! As for my hands, I think il stick to hand wash.
Tips: Don't use it to regularly, as it drys up your skin and fingers (I kept getting this annoying peely skin right next to my finger nail and end up biting them of, bad habit!)
Im a hand sanitizer addict. I found the Dettol one to have a bit of a strong smell but dried quickly & didn't leave my hands too dry. Not as good as purell but pretty close!
I guess it works, but if you touch your food with you hands then eat where you touched, it tastes horrible. I'm not a fan. I'd rather use soap and water the old fashioned way
Tips: Do not lick fingers or put in your mouth after using it-tastes gross
I am not a fan of hand sanitisers in general and will always rather properly wash my hands than use this. As is common with these products this dried out my skin majorly! The only thing I will say is that it's good for when you don't have access to water and soap, like after the earthquakes in Chch, or perhaps if you've used a public toilet/portaloo where there is no soap. I very much doubt this will make its way into my shopping trolley.
