Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion Review

This was my first product I brought when wanting to look tan and glowy. I personally love it and still buy it often as it is easy to apply and is very moutsersing. If you are new to using tanning products then I would suggest this one as it doesn't require a tanning glove, is not to dark and you can build up the color over a couple of days so you don't have to worry about being unnaturally orange or overly darker than your skin tone

Being very pale skinned I decided to take the leap and use the Medium to Dark shade & glad I did.

I only apply to my arms & legs as thats all that's exposed. Bottle says not to apply on face, not sure why as other tanning products you can. Smell is tolerable & does dissappear after an hour or so. I'm not bothered if not able to use on face as I love my St Tropez Self Tan Purity Vitamins for face, neck & declotage!.

Dove recently reformulated this by doing away with the Parabens. What a mission trying to get one without, ended up contacting manufacturers who kindly gave me a voucher. Off I went on the hunt managed to find a Paraben free one. Alot of retailers were running their stocks down before putting out new formulation.

Exfoliation & moisturising parts where tan sticks to is key for an even finish. Used a tanning mit to apply as this is by far best way and used a makeup brush to blend it along fingers toes, wrists, elbows & edge of feet

Not keen that some of product stays at bottom of bottle as it is a thick consistency. I leave mine stored upside down. The bottle is quite awkward would prefer a pump.

Prefer to have a colour guide as you need to blend blend blend.

My favorite is St Tropez Express tan mousse but just use Dove as a quick no fuss option as hate sitting around waiting for St Tropez to dry. I like the colour Dove gives although could be darker as not as dark as St Tropez - Dove looks natural. I apply in morn after showering. I did read reviews not too apply too much product, as I was & found it took a while to dry. This morning I applied less.

I have noticed my arms have a way better finish than my legs which tend to look a bit patchy so maybe it's an application prob on my part.

Overall it lasts a few days. I tend to let my tan completely wear off then start again but today decided to top up after a few days so wait to see result tomorrow.

Price point is ok.

My second favourite tanning loation gives me that extra kick between tans. Be careful to not leave product on knees elbows or hands because can cause buildup of colour

Good product to give you a tanned looked without having to be out in the sun. I found it builds up.with frequent use.

Good product to use before bed for a nice glowing look the next day. Good product to use once or as a builder product (tan gets darker/stronger the more you use it) smell is almost a light vanilla/sheer butter smell not to strong.

Tanning in the sun is not my idea of fun putting myself at risk of sun damage and ultimately skin cancer......enter my life Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion!! Now fake tanning always scared the poop out of me because in the past using other brands I was left with orange looking legs and patchy spots. Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion is different it's a gradual process starting off as a night glow and darkening in to a nice tanned look which I love!

I followed the easy instructions to the tee and washed my hands afterward to avoid tan on my palms. My legs were never left patchy nor orange just a lovely summer glow like the name says. This is my fake tan of choice for my budget and I will continue to use because it's so easy and looks very natural like I have been kissed by the sun :)

I used this back in high school and picked it up again last summer to try again and was really impressed! To begin with I will add that I only use this on my upper body/arms as I prefer a tanning mousse for a deeper than on my legs, if I have an event on the weekend that I want to look tan for I will apply this moisturizer every night for the week leading up to it, otherwise I apply couple of nights or so just to give my skin a bit of colour and not leave me so pasty in the summer months! I apply with my hands as I would any moisturizer and I am always left with a natural, non streaky tan that I have even been complimented on. The only two things I dislike about the product would be the strong smell (not unpleasant but just very potent!) and the bottle (a pump would be a lot easier as I'm often left with a greasy bottle!) Overall a product I will continue to use and for under $10 is great value.

This product performed fairly well, definitely requires everyday use for maximum results. produced a nice natural looking tan that I was quite pleased with.

I'm a fan of this. It gives a nice light natural looking tan after a couple of applications and it moisturises my skin really nicely. Great price too at only $9 for 400ml. The only negative for me is how sticky it feels after applying, even after waiting at least an hour or so before dressing, it never fully absorbs where it feels dry to the touch which is a bit annoying. Aside from that, this is a great gradual tanner!
