A big thank you to Beauty Review for letting me trial this product!
I’ve actually heard a little bit about the Luminosity range from Dr Lewinn’s Eternal Youth product line and there seemed to be quite a bit of hype about it – even the packaging advises that its already received 4/5 stars from another beauty review company.
I, however, was not impressed.
Firstly the product looks, feels and smells lovely – quite lightweight and almost gel-like in texture with a really pleasant fresh and slightly floral scent.
I applied the product generously to my face and neck (as per the instructions on the box) and at first it felt great – really silky and cooling – but I didn’t find it moisturising at all. And then after a few moments, it seemed to set on my skin (it felt like makeup) and it went a bit streaky and felt quite powdery. Upon reviewing the ingredients I noticed that the second ingredient is Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate which (according to Dr Google) is an ingredient commonly found in makeup such as face powder. Could this be the reason why?
The following day I used less product and while it didn’t streak as previously mentioned, my skin still didn’t feel hydrated at all. I also found that there was too much shimmer, which I found odd in a product that you wore to bed.
The instructions on the box advised that results are visible after 9 days however, I only lasted 5 at which point my skin felt tight and more dry than usual. However in all fairness, the product doesn’t claim to be super hydrating. I also didn’t use the Dr Lewinn’s Eternal Youth Luminosity Day and Night Golden Essence as the instructions suggest.
I also felt that with a RRP of nearly $75 and instructions to use generously both morning and night, this product could prove very costly for some.
Would I recommend this to a friend? To my friends with dry and/or dehydrated skin – no. It’s simply not moisturising enough. But if dehydration is not an issue for you, you may have better results.
When I was accepted into this trial I was so excited to give this a try as my night cream had come to an ending. My skin type is dry especially during this winter period . Over a course of two weeks I got to give this cream a try. I solely used this for both day and night use in connection with a cleanser toner and day and night serums.
When this cream arrived to me it came in a beautiful shiny gold box. Inside this is a double glazed frosted jar with an inner jar holding this cream. This lid looks just like a diamond which is glitzy and glamorous . A show stopper amongst my other plan jane skin care products. When I unscrew this lid I find this thick decadent off yellow beige cream. It smells like fresh florals and musks pulling together a one of kind fragrance.
After preparing my skin with cleansers and toners I find this cream applies like a breeze. Takes several minutes to absorb. Works well with serums. Be mindful about the type of cleanser you use as this does have an impact of the absorbtion timeframe and setting result. I found natural cleansers work well with it rather than mainstream based cleansers.
When I was driving I noticed the sunlight on my face and I was illuminating with specks of gold. I looked glowy. It was just like a highlighter. I was absolutely shocked. Maybe this was the 24 Karat gold in it. As a day cream my skin felt hydrated soft and glowy. As a night cream by morning my skin is rejuvenated and clear. It looked amazingly good. I did have a breakout when I switched cleansers but my skin has been restored with some help from my masks and serums.
What really caught me about this cream is it's multi purpose use for both day and night. This cream definitely does work for both day . From the packaging through to the consistency of this cream it is pure elegance and luxurious. If I could repurchase this I would. My skin is amazingly restored in a good condition during the harshest time of year for my skin. It was a delightful experience to give this a go. Thank you BR.
