I got this as part of the entire Dr Lewinn's Reversaderm range, which I've also reviewed.
The Dr Lewinns Reversaderm Glycolic Clarifying Cleanser is actually far more of a mild product than I was anticipating. It comes in a sizeable bottle equipped with a pump action dispenser, which does have a tendency to get a little messy. The packaging is white with metallic blue accents, and it looks classy, expensive, and a little....medical. Basically, it looks like something that will work.
The cleanser lotion is white, medium thickness and has a faint scent - nothing I can put my finger on, it just smells clean and fresh. It has a typical cream cleanser feel to it, and works into skin well.
You massage this onto damp skin for 30 seconds, leave for a couple of minutes and rinse off. This doesn't feel like it's stripping anything out of skin and it certainly doesn't feel like there is acid in it, which I was worried about. It does tingle (note: not hurt, but it's a sharp tingle) when you use it the day after a peel/mask), which can be disconcerting, but the tingle is only momentary.
Although the label suggests it can remove makeup, it really didn't do this well, so I used a cleansing oil first, which worked perfectly.
At $47 it's one of the cheaper products in the range, and worth considering if you jut want to mildly rejuvenate your skin - but is so lovely in conjunction with the range that I'd be loathe to seperate them.
In the past I’ve used a glycolic serum with great results and after a recent facial decided to look for a enzyme cleanser to use on a daily basis and help with sloughing off dead skin/cell renewal. I found this Dr Lewinn’s at Chemist Warehouse, it’s a little pricey than what I’m used to at $40 but WOW the results. The formula is a cream from a generous 120ml pump. I use two pumps and massage in for long as I have time. The directions say to use for a few minutes. The first time I used it my skin did tingle but that subsided after a few days of use once a day. I don’t think this will remove makeup so I still stick to my regular oil cleanser at night. The results for me are fantastic - my skin feels so much smoother, less rough patches on my cheeks, less clogged pores on my nose and I am sure without any makeup on (currently in L4 lockdown) my skin is less uneven and just looks clean, fresh and glowing. It probably took at least a week of daily use to see a difference. I’m definitely going to try the other products in this Reversaderm range.
Tips: Add only a couple of drops of water rather than wet hands (that the directions say to do) as I find this reduces the product too much.
