The Eco Tan Invisible Tan is a not-quite-so-easy-to-use product that gives a beautiful, golden tan. I am totally sold on how natural this product is, and it is certainly the best fake tanner for those who are concerned about what they are putting on their skin.
I have very, very fair skin and I prefer a deep, golden tan, usually achieved with Bondi Sands Mousse in Dark. I like my tan to look 'natural' (as in, not green or orange) but also a lot darker than my natural skin tone. The Eco Tan Invisible Tan is different to the mousse products that I usually use. It applies like a thick moisturiser - completely clear. I'm not quite talented enough for this, and I prefer a tinted product with a colour guard so that I can see where I have missed a spot. I applied this product with a tanning mitt, but ended up having to use my hands, as it was almost like applying a shower gel onto dry skin. It began to lather up, and took a bit of work to get it settled into the skin. Once it was settled, it dried quickly. I apply my fake tan before bed, and this product promises not to stain sheets - a bonus for those who avoid fake tanning because of this.
After my shower the next morning, a soft yet deep, golden tan was revealed. It was a beautiful shade - completely natural but it still provided a decent difference from my natural skin tone. This is the best result I have had from a fake tan: not orange, not green, natural but not too light. I applied this tan to my legs, an area that usually ends up a mess, but it applied beautifully and did not cling to any dry patches. There was a bit of a mess around my feet, due to not being able to see the product when applying.
At this stage, this is not a product I will repurchase. As much as I love the tan that it provided, I can't handle the white patches where I think the product has reached, but it hasn't. I do however recommend this tan to anyone who is conscious of the products they apply. If you like gradual tanners, I highly recommend giving this a go. It gives the soft, natural glow and application of a gradual tanner, but you could apply it once or twice a week rather than every evening. It would also be great if you use gradual tanner but need a faster result.
I will continue to use this product as maintenance, over an already applied but fading fake tan. I may also try this on my face during Summer.
After following Eco Tan on Instagram for a while and seeing the before and after shots of the tan I felt like I needed to give it a try! I was looking for a natural looking tan with no orange pay-off and this looked too good to pass up. I brought it from health 2000 for around $30-$40 (I think). As this tan develops over night I was concerned it was going to rub off on my sheets and I would get a streaky tan. I woke up pleasantly surprised that it was a nice natural colour and was not streaky at all! And a major bonus my sheets were tan free! The second time I applied this tan was a night before a wedding. I made a big mistake of applying way too much to my legs and I found out in the morning my legs were way to dark for my liking almost leading to orange! Wahh!! As there was not too much I could do I just had to roll with it with a few side glances from some people at my legs. But I learnt from this mistake and would repurchase this tan again.
Tips: A little goes a long way, learn from my mistake and don't apply to much to your legs as the tan will develop way to dark!
