I purchased this scrub with my beauty points during the last vault. I really like the other Eco Tan products so I admit I had high expectations for this. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed. The packaging is nice and the scrub has a nice fresh scent (due to lemongrass) but the pretty epic downside is the scrub is near impossible to get out of the tube. Obviously due to the coconut oil solidifying due to the cold temperatures during the South Island winter. This is pretty frustrating and impractical so I won’t bother using this again until summer and will see if it’s easier to use then. Other than the fact that it’s a workout in itself to try and get to this product onto your hands, I did like the scrub and my skin felt soft after use but I am glad I didn’t pay $40 for this as I much prefer my usual scrub which is much easier to use and a lot cheaper.

Tips: If you want to use during the winter months you will probably need to sit it in a bowl of hot water before use.
This scrub is sooo solid in the tube that you can barely squeeze anything out of it, which was a real disappointment when I first got it.
In the end, I cut the tube open and spooned out the scrub and put it into an old Body Shop scrub container, which worked brilliantly!
Once I got that sorted, I have enjoyed using this scrub, but haven't found it to give any incredible results.
While it smells delicious, I found that The Body Shop's Mango and Shea scrubs are much more moisturising, and have a better scrub to them than this.
I wouldn't repurchase it again, which is a shame but I'm glad I gave it a go!
Tips: Cut the tube open and put the scrub into a different container. It's waaay to solid to get out of the tube in the cooler months.
I tried and tried and tried to get this product out of the tube, no luck there.
Because it's made with coconut oil it's too solid to squeeze out during the colder months. It wouldn't come out after putting it under the hot shower either which was really frustrating. I got a little bit out last week when I tried again because the weather is warmer.
It smells lovely and when you do finally get some out it works well too. It feels great to be able to dry scrub your body but not sure I'd use it on my face, it might be a bit harsh.
I was tempted to cut the top off the tube and use it like that. Haven't done that though but I think I might well have to.
This is a tough one to put a rating to. I'd recommend it in the summer but winter, definitely not!
Tips: I brought the glove/mitt that goes with this product too, the product was from the vault. The Mitt is brilliant, worth every cent of the $20 price. I've never been so well exfoliated hah.
I got this from the last Beauty Vault and I was excited to use it because I love trying out new body scrubs. This is $40 so I was expecting it to be good.
At first glance, the packaging is pretty and it's a decent size. I was intrigued at the instruction at the back though as it said use on dry skin prior to showering. I decided to follow that anyway.
Before being able to use this, you will need to get it out of the tube first and this was already a struggle! This was so hard to get out of the tube and you will need to forcefully squeeze it out. This was not a pleasant experience and was quite annoying. You need to warm it up before doing so and this is an inconvenience.
Once I got it out, the texture was nice and it smells good. it's a light pink colour because of the pink himalayan salt. I used it on dry skin as per the instruction and did not like it. It was too harsh so I suggest putting this on damp skin unless you want that scratchy feel. It's either I'm not used to dry scrubbing but I didn't enjoy using it this way.
When I used it on damp skin, I liked this product better and it did the job well. I applied it with just my hands and an exfoliating mitt too and it works well. It's not the best scrub I've tried though and this is not something I'd consider repurchasing.
Overall, I think it's good to use for your body but it will be too harsh on your face and other sensitive areas. I don't recommend using on dry skin too. It's an ok scrub but not fantastic considering the price.
I don't think there is beauty product on the market that i love more than Eco Tan Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub. I won this scrub on an insta competition and it has been my go to exfoliant since. The smell is absolutely amazing and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I use it before every tan and in between.
Tips: Use 48 hours before tanning products... and on date night :)
OMG, this has to be one of the best scrubs I have ever used! It's made with coconut oil so is a little hard to squeeze out but a little goes a long way! The smell is absolutely divine and the salt really helped to exfoliate my skin and felt so smooth afterwards.
I added a little bit of water and used it on my skin before having a shower which really gave a deep exfoliate and found it lathered up a lot more applying it whilst in the shower.
For my skin, this was perfect and despite the price, I will be using it again! Loved it!
This product is devine! I use it as a prep for self tan. It smells delicious, and is gentle on the skin. My skin was beautifully soft after using it, and it is awesome to use on tough feet, knees and elbows, or any other areas that need a good exfoliation! It is best used on dry skin, but I have found it as equally effective when used in the shower. Again for me, a selling point was the fact it is natural, not tested on animals, and vegan. I would never not have this in my life!
Tips: Depending on the temperature of where it is kept, may be an issue as it is coconut oil based and solidifies. When this happens, I sit it in a bowl of hot water for 10mins before I use it
I've only just recently discovered the Eco Tan brand and I'm so impressed by them.
This citrus smelling scrub is divine. Not only does it smell good it also exfoliates your skin to a whole new level.
Recommended to use before applying their tanning products (and also to remove them). I also use on my face and it gives a good deep clean but without it not being too rough on your skin.
Only downside (which is not really their fault due to the weather) is that it becomes quite solid in the cold temperatures. When this happens, I just run the squeezy tube under the hot shower or tap for a few seconds and it loosens up enough to squeeze out the product.
I definitely recommend.
The Eco Tan salt scrub is amazing! So great for getting rid of dull dry skin and isn’t harsh on the skin. Left my skin feeling so smooth and didn’t feel like it stripped my skin. I keep repurchasing this one.
Tips: I find it easiest to use in the bath with a scrub mitt
I'd heard lot's of rave over this brand and body scrubs are my favourite skin care product, so I was extremely pleased to be able to snap this up from the vault.
The first time I went to use this scrub, for the life of me I could not get it out of the tube no matter how much force with which I squeezed! In the cold weather it's almost rock solid inside the tube, I need to hold it under the shower stream to heat it first so I can use it. Then once it's heated you need to be careul not to squeeze the tube too hard otherise it will shoot out and wind up landing in the shower tray, this happened to me a couple of times before I learnt to be careul with it.. It's a bit disappointing to accidently waste such a pricey product!
This scrub is a thick peach colored cream with fine grains of the himalayan salt through it, the grains are just about as fine as regular table salt so it's not very gritty as I had kind of expected. The scent is a tart citrus, it contains grapefruit extract and that's what it mostly smells of to me.
Upon contact with the skin the salt disolves quickly and it turns to a silky milky texture. I avoid the shower stream whilst rubbing it in to get the most out of it, the more time I spend massaging it in I feel the more my skin is soaking up those gorgerous organic ingredients. It feels very exfoliating, cleansing and also very hydrating.. It feels like a luxury product.
I really wish that this product was more affordable, $40 for a shower scrub, to me seems over the top.. I'd pay $20.. So sadly I will not be purchasing this product despite thoroughly enjoying it.. Unless by some chance I heard of a 50% off sale, in which case i'd be all over it!
