I love a good gradual tan, I've had great experiences with supermarket brands. I really wanted to try a higher end product, surely it would give great colour and be even better for your skin?
I liked the packaging, a pump bottle is always great. I always moisturise after a shower and find it so handy to have a pump bottle sitting on the bathroom counter so I can quickly pump it onto my hands and apply.
I found thus product absorbed quickly, but I didn't find it actually left my skin hydrated. By the next day (I used at night) my skin felt like it hadn't been moisturised.
The colour did build up well, and I would've been impressed by the colour payoff it had but the colour seemed really off on me. It just didn't look natural. It also went patchy which I don't expect from a gradual tan, especially due to its hydrating claims.
I never ended up using my whole bottle and it's currently been pushed to the back of the cupboard. Very disappointing due to its price.
I'd heard so much about all the Eco Tan products in particular this one! They were doing a special on it at my local Hardys mid way through last year so I had to pick up one of these and give it a try!
I really like the packaging, it comes in a 300ml amber plastic bottle with a black pump top. Which is so handy! A lot of moisturisers have the awkward tops that you have to try juggle the lid bottle and moisturiser in your hand to get the lid back on, with this product it's as simple as a quick pump if product and your well on your way to tanned skin.
Once pumping out the product it smells quite floral which can be justified with there being chamomile flower extract in it which I'm not usually a fan of but didn't mind it in this product. It does linger on the skin for around 10 minutes but you do get used to it. The smell isn't quite enough to put me off this product. The main thing is it doesn't smell like nasty chemicals.
The moisturiser has a very light brown tinge to it which would come from the Cacao (yes theres chocolate in it! How cool is that?). I found it very easy to apply just like any moisturiser, it turns white when you rub it in so it's sort of like a guide to help you apply it. You just have to make sure you're not going to heavy handy over any dryer patches like knees and elbows otherwise it will stain a lot darker than the rest of your body also make sure you exfoliate like you would with any other tanning product. It also drys reasonably quick and can just dress how you usually would afterwards because it doesn't stain. I didn't have a problem with streaking or patches either. I built it up to a nice honey tan then just moisturise it every other day to maintain.
I really like this product. It may seem quite expensive but with the amount of product you get with it it is totally worth it and once built up you don't have to use it every day which is good! I love the Eco Tan range and can't wait to purchase more from this amazing brand. How could you not love something that is so natural and good for your skin?!
