I first saw this at the supermarket and in need of a new face wash I got it because it showed to be on special. 20 minutes later at checkout it definitely was NOT on special, but I had already paid so annoyed, I went home with my new $20 face wash.
I like the packaging. The bottle and lid are both almost matte. It still gives off a big of reflection of light. It’s a very simple design, with few words but it tells you everything you need to know and how to use. I think if the ingredients were on the bottle it would be an eye sore and not in their theme at all, but who keeps the box to look at that stuff at a later date. I enjoy that the coloring of the lid matches the color of the font as well.
The lid comes off and underneath is a simple white pump, that pumps out a small amount of product each time. The color of the product is a yellowy brown, but its creamy so it reminds me a little of a really light caramel. It smells very herbal, and very clean. Almost a bit too clean, like a cleaning product. It’s not bad but it’s not very exciting either.
The product doesn’t foam, but I do think it does a good job of cleaning my face. However I don’t like the after feeling. While it’s not so harsh to make my brain melt, my skin still feels a bit dry and tight after using, a feeling which I hate to the very core of my being, and I can’t stand it. It makes me want to rip my skin off my face. So, it’s a nice face wash but it’s definitely not nice enough for me to continue using, or buy again from the range.
I really, really enjoyed this cleanser. I do struggle with cleansers, I find one I love, use it for a month or so, and it'll 'over correct' something.
At the moment I'm leaning towards being too oily on my T-zone, with slight drying on my cheeks. My current cleanser is a foaming cleanser, that works well on the oil, not so great on the dry.
On to the SKIN by ecostore cleanser. The packaging is simple, dare I say, a little boring maybe? 140ml will last ages. And can we get a 'Holla' because its in a pump! Yus. No fiddly caps, or squeezey tubes.
It's a cream cleanser, beige in colour. It smells...funny. I don't know. Its probably because there's no added fragrance and this is just what it smells like?
I applied using wet fingers and gently massaged it in. It doesn't really lather, but it does feel like it soaks in for an almost, oil like cleanse? It removed my daily face of bb cream and liquid lip - but didn't touch my mascara, but that's fine.
Immediately after use my skin felt soft. There was no tightness. After a few weeks use I'm still enjoying it, my skin feels quite balanced. I think for $20 you can't moan about all the goodness this brings - its cruelty free, natural, good for the environment. It does what I want a cleanser to do.
