I usually use the normal 8hr cream on my lips as i suffer from dry lips especially in the winter but can't stand the smell of the 8hr cream and annoys me how messy it can get. Bought the lipstick to try it and i LOVE it, from the easy lipstick applicator to the no smell to it actually doing the job its designed to do. I find if i put this on my lips before i do my makeup by the time my lipstick is due to come on it has dried abit and acts as the perfect lipstick primer making my lipstick last longer than usual. Totally recommend it, yes is abit pricey for a "lip balm" but totally worth it.

I bought this some time last year during a Elizabeth Arden sale because a few of my friends were raving about it but it's not for me. I don't want a lip protectant stick that just "relieves" dry lips; I'd like it to heal my lips too.
It comes in a cute white cylindrical lipstick tube with the number 8 printed all over it. The "balm" as I like to call it is a an almost clear honey colour. It has a lemon like scent and generally I don't mind a fragrant lip product but this one makes my nose wrinkle - it doesn't smell disgusting just a bit strong.
When I apply, the product sits like a thin film on my lips for a few minutes and then sinks into my skin. I really love this because I feel like it's sinking into where it's needed most. Unfortunately that thought is short lived because it just relieves the dryness I have at the time but doesn't actually keep it from coming back or at least improving the condition of my lips.
Too often I find that lip products that relieve my dry lips go no further beyond that so my lips become worse and I end up having to reapply the product where it just becomes pointless. I won't be repurchasing this but I'm relieved that I'm close to panning this product.
If you've ever tried the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, you'll probably be familiar with the strong scent of the 8 Hour products - only this doesn't smell that way. It has a very neutral scent, goes on smoothly and lasts ages. I am one of those people who need to frequently apply my chap stick/lip gloss, but when I use this I find that I don't have to nearly as often. I really love how moisturised my lips feel and having the 8 Hour formula, you know that you are giving your lips a treat. The only thing that could be better is the price - it really is expensive. Will be adding this to my Christmas wishlist!
This little white tube of goodness is an absolute must for anyone who has to endure the pain of sore, dry, chapped lips. I love the fact that it comes in a lipstick case so that your fingers do not need to get anywhere near this creamy concoction. This makes it great for popping in your beach bag and for all those who are germ conscious! The product has a very neutral smell- you can smell the waxes in it and is not coloured. The formula is incredibly creamy and glides on smoothly, melting on your lips as it goes. I would be careful not to leave this cream in the sun as I can imagine it would melt pretty quickly, based on how swiftly it warms up. It has fantastic staying power- truly the holy grail of lip balms for those of us who feel like we are constantly having to re apply balm to our poor, sore lips. One huge selling point for me, is the fact that the product contains SPF 15 which truly makes it perfect for any Kiwi girl. While it is very expensive at $42, I have been using my tube at least twice daily for a month and am only half way through the tube. When I add up all the costs of the myriad of lip balms littering my life, I would happily buy forgo them and buy one tube of Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant each season.
Tips: Slip this on after giving your lips a gentle scrub with a soft toothbrush or dry flannel for a quick lip treatment
This was very generously gifted to me from some of the women on this website. I hadn't tried anything like this before so I wasn't sure what to expect.
My lips are usually very dry because I have a terrible habit of biting or licking my lips when I am anxious so this was something I was excited to try out. The fact that it has an SPF in it made me even more excited.
I love the packaging of this. It looks and feels very expensive and of high quality. The product itself is in the shape of a traditional lipstick which makes it very easy to apply.
The scent of this smells like herbs, which I found a little strange but it didn't put me off. The smell is quite strong but I find it dissipates after a while while wearing this.
In terms of how it feels on the lips... wow. It applies like silk and feels super hydrating and creamy - without being too heavy. It isn't sticky at all.
I like to use this before I go to bed and before I apply lipstick - I put this on as the first step of my makeup routine, and when I apply lipstick, I remove this and my lips are hydrated all day.
Because it is so super moisturising, you don't need a lot of product to get the job done - so I imagine that this will last a long time. I would definitely repurchase it, even though it is pricey.
I can't get enough of this stuff! Is such a great lip balm and the lip stick version is much easier to use than the big pot. I use it throughout the day by itself or under lipstick as it is very moisturizing. SPF 15 is great but I have found its not enough to prevent burnt lips! My boyfriend also hates the strong scent.
Tips: Don't rely on this as your only lip sun protection
I was put onto this a few years ago and have never looked back. It comes in a white lipstick case so if you don't want people to think you have a lip balm rather than a lipstick then this is the one for you. Works great and even makes some lines around my mouth disappear!
Tips: Keep one on your hand bag all the time and a spare one at home in a drawer in case you run out!
I first used this lip balm after I got some nasty sunburnt lips at the Big Day Out. Within 24 hours my lips had started to heal nicely, they were hydrated and plump and the cracks and splits had healed up well. I used it again for 3 months before my wedding and even the makeup artist commented on how smooth they were!
Tips: Be careful if you have it in your handbag, where you leave your handbag. As it's a solid wax, it melts easily and there is nothing more heart wrenching that taking the lid off a lip gloss and finding it a melted puddle
This wee bullet off 8 hour cream is all its cracked up to be and more, non waxy and creamy and so easy to apply, this is soft and not sticky, it does have an unusual scent like a mild wax all this in an attractive lippy tube nice to have in my make up bag or handy at work. This is fantastic for dry lips and keeps them soft and crack free and so good if you have a cold sore that's healing putting this on helps it past that horrid dry bleeding and cracking stage and seams to help heal it up quite quickly, also to have a SPF to help protect my lips is great and it does help stop wind burn, theres no drying or cracking around when I use this. I've had this in a few off the tints and they are really nice and just a hint off colour, this is a lovley soft creamy lip protectant. This is great under lipstick or over top as well. A little on the expensive side but it does last and does a great job. Quite possibly one off my best traveling buddies.
Tips: Keep it away from the heat as it melts.
I received this amazing 8 hour protectant syick in a pack. I use the 8 hour cream often and love it and so I had high hopes for this.
It is so easy to apply as it is in a lipstick container, but only wind it up a little bit so you dont snap it. It glides on easily and smoothly and it feels nice on your lips. It has an spf 15 so I use this under my lippy as extra protection form the sun. I use this most days and sometimes dont even apply lippy over the top and I get a nice shine to my lips. I know this isnt the cheapest form of lip protection but I think it is well worth the money.
