I saw the massive hype about these lip balms and expected them to be amazing. Unfortunately I found that even though they glided on my lips nicely, they slipped off pretty soon after. They didn't last on my lips at all and my lips actually felt worse after using it. The smells are super yummy and the packaging is completely adorable but I expected a lot more from it. I use them as decoration now and if I am desperate for a lip balm and can't find one, but I reach for my others more.

Reviews
I first learnt of this product when I was with two friends who both pulled their EOS lipbalms out of their bags and started to use it. They had told me that it was the best lip balm they'd ever used, and that even Kim Kardashian uses it. I thought I have enough lip balms to last me a lifetime, and figured I didn't need to buy one. Fast forward 4 months, and I, like my friends, ended up buying one because it was so cheap! The packaging is unique- a light, round, coloured ball (my cats love to chase it if I drop it), it's an easily recognizable cult item which is surprisingly easy to open, with it's twist top and small dented parts to put your fingers on. Unlike the usual stick balms, the product itself does not go up and down, and so applying the lid can be a tiny bit scary, because if you're not paying attention, you could jab the lid into the product. However, this has yet to happen to me.
When I first opened mine, the first thing I noticed was the strong, fruity smell. I haven't smelt a lipbalm which smelt so sweet! My pink strawberry flavour beats every other flavoured lipbalm I've tried (sorry Body Shop!) and application is smooth. However, I am disappointed overall in the moisturising properties of this lip balm. It is not the smoothest of lip balms, and feels like it sort of layers on top of your lips, and doesn't feel like it's particularly hydrating the inner layers of my skin. I think it also tastes good.. and I can't stop licking my lips, which is probably not a great thing for hydration.
Tips: Apply it and wait a while before applying lip colours to avoid awkward patchy smudges
Despite all the hype, these really aren't that great. After a few days of use, my lips were burning and the corners of my mouth were cracked and painful. They weren't very moisturising either.
Tips: For some people these won't work - like me!
i love the idea and smell of these lipbalms , but they just dont hydrate your lips, i find myself reapplying because my lips are still dry.
I bought it coz it has good reviews. Tastes nice as I can taste it on my lips. Doesn't last long at all. My lips dries out quickly afterwards.
This product is overhyped for sure. I got sucked in to buying these on a few occasions because of raving youtube reviews, the lovely scent and adorable packaging- but don't be fooled. The lip balm itself smells lovely but has no hydrating properties at all. It drags on the lips and the balm crumbles after application. Sadly do not recommend.
Decided to give this a go couple of years back when all the celebs were promoting it. Was very disappointed, only kept lips hydrated for a very short time and found the balm lost its scent very quickly.
I bought the mint and the strawberry one a few years ago and I have to say they are average. It will moisten your lips and last a few hours but then I find my lips are just as cracked, maybe even drier than before at times. The eos lip balms I find are ones that make you addicted, and it gets to the point where you have to put it on every hour. It also wasn’t good at making sure things stayed out and I found that I would open it to find it full of dust hairs and various other things that somehow found its way inside. The good news is that my dog liked playing with it. The shape of it made it bounce around unpredictably so she would always steal them.
The packaging is super cute and they smell nice, but that's where the positives end for me. I first started using these when I lived in America when I was 19 and didn't know any better. I was so excited when I saw them in New Zealand! But now in my old age and obsession with lip balms, I've come to realize these are actually useless. Upon first application, they're totally fine, but I found them to actually dry my lips out even more (which I have found with a few brands)! I'm gonna put on my tinfoil hat here and wonder out loud if they do this on purpose so you'll reapply more, and therefore buy more... Haha.
Tips: These are probably only good as little gifts/stocking stuffers for kids.
My recommendation for lip balm is the Hurraw range
I grabbed a few of these off Trade Me after the hype, and I really don't like them! I had such great expectations of these when I heard everyone raving about them, from celebs to just my friends.
These cost quite a bit, I found a pack of 4 for $40 which was horrendous to me. However I did want to give them a go so I bought it.
These come in loads of different flavors which I love! They all smell super delicious and every one is unique.
At first I loved the packaging, but now it's just annoying and bulky. The lip balm is waxy at first, but as you wear it down it becomes creamy and I do actually like the formula, but it dries my lips out!
I think this is made to make your lips reliant on the moisture this balm gives and when it wears off, there's just pain. One time it felt like my lips were cracking and bleeding just 10 minutes after I had first applied it! I don't even have sensitive lips to start with, and they still reacted to this. I have heard a few people with the same problem, though not many. No matter how cute these balms look to you, I can guarantee they aren't as good as they seem.
I definitely won't be getting these again, the packaging is cute and a cool concept but the balm just dried my lips out so much which felt awful. They cost a lot too, especially here in NZ!
