This has to be one of the best new products I have tried in the last year. It makes my skin feel fresh and soft. I have used a few more expensive cleansers and this really is up to par with those in terms of quality. I love how gentle it is. I have made the switch to Essano :)

Tips: You don't need a lot, just a small pump.
I bought the Essano Rosehip "Treat Your Skin" pack that contained sample sizes of Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Moisturiser, Body Lotion, Night Creme and Rosehip Oil and after trying these sample sizes out, I purchased a full sized bottle of the Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser, as I felt the sample size didn't allow me to test it out sufficiently.
The full sized Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser comes in a 140ml brown plastic bottle with a dispenser pump. It's rich in certified organic Rosehip Oil, is soap-free, vegan and made in New Zealand.
The instructions on the bottle said to pump the cleanser onto wet palms and create a foam before gently massaging it onto the face. Well, I pumped the cleanser into my wet palms and attempted to create a foamy lather but this just didn't happen. I tried some more and only got a slightly bubblier version of what originally came out of the bottle. This must be where the words "gently foaming" comes in.
I thought that 'gently foaming' meant that it was a gentle cleanser that foamed, not a cleanser that created a gentle (barely there) foam. I was disappointed! I like my cleansers to foam and lather nicely, I don't like having to spread cleanser gel all over my face and then try to smear it around to get rid of my make-up.
It didn't matter how much (or how little) water I added to this product, it just wouldn't foam. I don't know if I ended up with a defective batch of cleanser but I definitely won't be recommending or repurchasing it again.
I also found that when I got near the bottom of the bottle and there was still about 2cm of cleanser left, the pump stopped working. I had to unscrew the pump and shake the cleanser out into the palm of my hand to use it.
Tips: After cleansing, use Essano Rosehip Oil, Moisturiser or Night Creme. I have oily skin and found that I did need to moisturise after using this cleanser as it left my skin feeling a little 'tight' and dry.
This is going to be one of those reviews where I struggle to find the positives, I'm afraid. I know this product has received plenty of good reviews so far, but for me I personally hated almost everything about this cleanser! Although it comes in cute packaging with a helpful pump, the product itself smells very strongly and unpleasantly, and is a gel cleanser, not a foaming cleanser. When I purchase a foaming cleanser I expect the product to come out of the bottle, well, foamy. This one is a thick gel which you're supposed to work into a foam yourself - the best I could get was a slightly more lathered gel. It feels slimy on my skin, and I didn't feel at all refreshed or cleansed after using.
Before I finish though, I WOULD like to say that I DO respect the Essano brand immensely. In a beauty market dominated by chemical-based brands which are massively detached from nature and have no problem with testing on animals, it is SO great to see brands like Essano emerging. Although I didn't like this particular product, I think what they stand for is fantastic, and many of their other products are fab.
I bought this product because i am a fan of the rosehip products and i like to try new ones to see what works best for me. Unfortunately i don't think this was very effective for me. Maybe a scrub would've been better but the cleanser is just too soft and not so effective for someone that has sensitive skin. It doesn't leave the face smooth and soft either. I feel like if i don't moisturise my face then it leaves it quite dry and feeling tight.
It comes in a nice and easy to use bottle, you can just pump the right amount out of it. But it's not a foaming cleanser, i'd say its like a gel cleanser and you do need to use quite abit of it. I have been using it everyday since i bought it and i think it only last me about a month and half.
What i really like about the cleanser is that it's quite natural and has no alcohol in it. I feel safe and relieved using this knowing it didn't contain many chemicals that may be harmful.
But as for cleansing, it only does minimal cleansing.I feel like it only cleanse whats on the surface of the face.
I personally wouldn't buy it again but hey it works differently for everyone.
Tips: I'd suggest, maybe use a scrub and have alternate days. Also its best to use rosehip oil or moisturiser after cleansing with this cleanser.
i love this face wash! although it did make my skin break out the first time i used it (over a year ago/almost) but haven't had a problem since i use the whole range
I'm probably close to finishing my fourth bottle of this. I bought this for my younger siblings and I to use. I didn't want to want to spend big bucks on a cleanser for my siblings but didn't want to go for something cheap and drying. This cleanser was free of sulfates which was the main thing I look for. Despite the slight floral scent my teenage brother has never complained and happily used it. I did find it a bit drying last winter but during the summer it's great. I like to use an oil cleanser at night and don't like to use a hot face cloth to get it off and create more laundry for myself. So I opt to use this in the shower to get the excess oil off and it does a great job. One big con about this product though was the pump. When I buy the bottle it's like the pump is jammed and twisted so tight that you have to pull really hard to get the nozzle to pop out and so you can use it. I thought the pump on the first bottle I bought was faulty, but then had the same problem on the second bottle, and the third. Around the time I bought the fourth bottle I finally figured it out. Before that I had to unscrew the pump and use the tube that was covered in product to put a bit in my hand and consequently ended up using too much product, probably why it felt drying. Smooches deducted for the non user friendly pump, but other than that I will continue to repurchase this cleanser.
Tips: Every now and then the supermarkets have sales on Essano so great time to purchase. When you try to get the nozzle out try twisting in one direction and have your index and middle finger under the pump and then pull hard, really hard. If it doesn't work one way try the other. No you haven't got the odd faulty pump, they are all like that!
Originally I liked it but as time has gone on I don't like how my skin feels so dry after cleansing. It feels like it is stripping my skin of any moisture.
I love this cleanser. It's the best one I have used by far. It has a nice scent that is not overpowering and I can really feel it working. I use it every second day as my skin gets too dry from daily use but that's just down to my skin type. It works wonders for me.
Tips: Use after exfoliating, then do a quick wipe with toner, blot off and apply moisturiser. Your skin will love you.
I love it has a pump which makes it easy to get out, the fragrance isn't to over whelming. I didn't find it really cleansed my skin or foam up that much. I'm normally a fan of foaming cleansers so this was a big let down. Can't really complain to much for the price.
I saw this at my local supermarket and thought I would give it a go! It was pretty cheap from memory and the packaging is very chic. Once i had finally figured out how to open it (for some reason my pump was a bit faulty) i applied at the end of the day by pumping a small amount onto my hand and frothing it up in my hands and then onto my face. I removed it with a warm, damp facecloth. It smells really good and not too strong. It removed my makeup but it didn't leave my skin feeling as fresh or revitalised as I had hoped. After a month of using it seems to have improved my skin acne wise but my pores are rough and dry. i think it might be a bit drying for my skin. Good for the price but most likely will not repurchase.
