I purchased this as I saw it on special at countdown and have been wanting to try it out. It was pretty average for me, didn't really feel like it waa giving my skin a good cleanse and left it feeling quite tight and dry. Would not purchase again and had much higher hopes.

I use lots of other Essano products so I grabbed this one day when I ran out of facewash. The first few times I used it I wasn't that impressed but thought I needed to get use to it, but I finished the bottle and didn't change my mind about the product. I didn't like the smell and it felt weird on my skin, like it was just sitting on the surface not cleaning it. I'm glad to move on to another facewash!
I love the pump bottle, very easy to use and one pump usually is enough. The consistancy of this cleasner Is a nice smooth thickness. The smell Is lovely and very suttle which is great. I love the fact that It has rosehip oil in it which my skin is in favour of. It leave's my skin feeling smooth and clean, the only downfall for my skin (which is combination) is that it seemed to dry it out abit and make my skin feel tight, which I did'nt think would happen as it contains rosehip oil and is soap-free and claims to be non drying., so for that reason I do no longer use this or have repurchased this product. It's just not for me sadly as it is really affordable.
Tips: some skin types will need a good serum or moisterzier to re hydrate the skin after cleansing.
So i managed to pick up a bottle from the local supermarket to review. I have sensitive skin so it didnt do any good for it, My skin was left dry. Not much of a scent to the product azwell
I bought this product because of the rosehip. However, i found it just dried my skin out so wasn't too happy with it.
I thought I would love this cleanser, but it's actually one of the few products I've considered returning. It's so disappointing as I like a bunch of their other products.
First of all - the smell is the weirdest thing I've ever smelt. It smells chemically, almost like ammonia, and if it mixed with soap or shampoo while I was rinsing off, the smell (?) burned my eyes.
I found the cleanser was quite drying on my skin, and my skin felt tight after use. The pump bottle was okay, but mine at least didn't lock, which meant it's not great for travel.
Otherwise, it felt like a pretty deep clean. I think this might be a better product for people with quite oily skin.
The first thing I noticed about this was that it is very thick - almost gummy, and slightly difficult to pump out of the bottle. Once I had the right amount in my hand, I noticed the very sweet almost sickly smell, like the smell of Turkish delight. When using this, I found the smell too much. The gel did not foam at all on my face, but washed off easily. Overall, I did not enjoy using this product as a facewash.
Tips: I am using this to shave my legs with, and it works perfectly! Leaves my legs feeling so smooth and soft!
I was immediately attracted to the packaging and lure of the name - 'rosehip' and pink! Thinking this would be an intensively nourishing gel cleanser in a handy pump bottle, however, I used for a short while and then gave up. My skin tended to be too stripped of oils after rinsing and I didn't get the impression it was doing its job properly. Very affordable but perhaps not right for my slightly ageing skin.
Tips: Get a trial pack first. They have handy small sizes in a drawstring pouch.
This product is easily accessible and affordable but unfortunately didn't work for me. It left my skin red and irritated and did not feel clean. It dried my face out. On the upside it smells amazing and I it worked great for my sister.
I bought the Essano Rosehip "Treat Your Skin" pack that contained sample sizes of Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Moisturiser, Body Lotion, Night Creme and Rosehip Oil and after trying these sample sizes out, I purchased a full sized bottle of the Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser, as I felt the sample size didn't allow me to test it out sufficiently.
The full sized Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser comes in a 140ml brown plastic bottle with a dispenser pump. It's rich in certified organic Rosehip Oil, is soap-free, vegan and made in New Zealand.
The instructions on the bottle said to pump the cleanser onto wet palms and create a foam before gently massaging it onto the face. Well, I pumped the cleanser into my wet palms and attempted to create a foamy lather but this just didn't happen. I tried some more and only got a slightly bubblier version of what originally came out of the bottle. This must be where the words "gently foaming" comes in.
I thought that 'gently foaming' meant that it was a gentle cleanser that foamed, not a cleanser that created a gentle (barely there) foam. I was disappointed! I like my cleansers to foam and lather nicely, I don't like having to spread cleanser gel all over my face and then try to smear it around to get rid of my make-up.
It didn't matter how much (or how little) water I added to this product, it just wouldn't foam. I don't know if I ended up with a defective batch of cleanser but I definitely won't be recommending or repurchasing it again.
I also found that when I got near the bottom of the bottle and there was still about 2cm of cleanser left, the pump stopped working. I had to unscrew the pump and shake the cleanser out into the palm of my hand to use it.
Tips: After cleansing, use Essano Rosehip Oil, Moisturiser or Night Creme. I have oily skin and found that I did need to moisturise after using this cleanser as it left my skin feeling a little 'tight' and dry.
